No One is Surprised: Caylee's Body Was in Trunk

• I think that Caylee is dead and that her mother put her in the trunk. My question is: Can DNA be found in body fluids that have dried? There was a stain in the trunk of her car, as well as maggots in and on a plastic kitchen garbage bag. Can a study of the stages of fly infestation, maggots, and beatles determine the time of a suspected death? I also wonder if anyone has checked the obituary column in the newspaper during the month that Caylee went missing. Could she be buried in a grave of someone already recently buried? Could cadaver dogs detect this in nearby cemetaries?

• Parents can't and are not responsible for actions their adult children do. I'm sick of reading comments that Cindy should be reponsible for what Casey has done. Casey murdered Caylee. Not Cindy. I'd type more but the computer is screwin' up right now.

• I happen to know something about sociopaths since we have one in our close family. I don't think they're born, I know at least in our case, they are tragically "made." What amazes me is how so many parents deny the evil their kid perpetrates, but on second thought, that's not so surprising. I believe the parents are often guilty of the acts that produced the psychosis. I can look at photos of that beautiful baby girl and see forced smiles that look more like grimaces. My guess is that the tot lived in a hell of craziness. Naturally, the family wants to hide that fact. They want people to think they're normies.

• IMO the apple didn't fall far from the tree in the case of Cindy and Casey. I'm thinking they both should be locked up!

• Poor baby. I felt she was dead, and at her mother's hands, since this story first broke. The mom's lying at first is what made me believe she had hurt her daughter. No parent in their right mind would spin such a yarn if, indeed, their child was out there waiting to be found alive. I hope the DA has enough evidence to prosecute this woman to the fullest extent the law allows....and maybe then some.

• So very sad. That poor beautiful baby. Casey Anthony is pure Florida white trash. She is disgusting. That entire family is disgusting. When I see her on tv my skin crawls. This entire story... I'm just sickened.

• It is always hard to think the unthinkable. Sometimes it is easier to enter a dream world where everything can be fixed and your granddaughter is alive and your daughter is not allegedly involved. I read a great deal of true crime and still have a hard time wrapping my head around situations like this where parents deny and block out the truth. It must be hard to still love your child unconditionally when everyone else thinks they are evil. Beyond sad.

• That's so sad. Not unexpected but sad. I also don't understand this grandmother. I read an article in People magazine where they profiled this case and they, I believe, interviewed Cindy (it was awhile ago, my memory is fuzzy). In any case, the article said that Cindy was convinced that her daughter did it and her granddaughter was dead. Now, it's like a complete 360. I can understand supporting her daughter after initially believing she was guilty but now this? Really?

• I can't blame Cindy for holding on to every shred of hope that the baby is still alive.I've had trouble believing it myself.I can't imagine what it must be like being your own grandchild.God be with her and her husband when the truth sets in.It's that unconditional love that keeps you hanging on and wanting to believe everything your child tells you.Cindy knows she can't believe Casey but for the sake of her granddaughter's life she's willing to believe her.My heart goes out to Cindy.

• My vote's for committing that grandmother to an asylum. She's in severe denial -- how much more proof does she frakkin' WANT? gods, losing such a cute grandchild and knowing that your child did the murder has unhinged her.
