Leslie Morales and Daniel Pataki Arrested in Virginia

The 'do-ragged wondertwins of douchebaggery there on the left are in custody tonight in Virginia. Authorities there arrested Leslie Morales, age 21, and 22-year-old Daniel Pataki earlier today.

Police in Charlotte, NC believe the pair murdered Morales's 46-year-old mother, Alexandria Salem. Salem was found stuffed inside a bag beside a Dumpster early Tuesday.

The couples' red Chevy Cobalt dropped the dime on them. The Virginia State PD collared the pair after spotting the car.

Both Morales and Daniel Pataki had personal profiles on MySpace, as did Morales's mom, the murder victim, Alexandria Salem. The previous entry guides you through the sites and asks if there were any hints in the online communication found on those pages as to why Alexandria Salem ended up dead beside a Dumpster.

Police from North Carolina are headed to Virginia to question the pair.

Diane, I came across a website within Northwestern University's website about crime trends in the 19th/early 20th century. Lots of children and adults got their throats slit back then. People had knives and knew how to use them. Technology changes but human nature doesn't.
This is terrible. From reading the quoted myspace comments from daughter to mother, I just can't believe this. What some people are capable of amazes me. I hope somehow this turns out to be all a misunderstanding. Is there real concrete proof that these kids were really "on the run", and not just traveling?
This has been a sad day in our family and difficult to deal with. A Mother has been lost, and a young one has been lost too. As for siblings it's none of your concern. Jean did what she could with what she had. Gave them a temp home, and a job. Sometimes it's not enough it seems. Please remember when posting that real people are hurting, and some of us may fine this. I'll make a point NOT to tell the rest of the family what it here, afraid that the comments and report will hurt them further.
On August 26th, a "Virginia" left a comment on Leslie's myspace page, signed, Jenny. From the comment it could her a sister. Do we know of Leslie has a sister?
By reading their profiles, you can't say yes or no as to whether they would commit murder but looking back, they aren't exactly sweet little innocents either. She seems like she's got a bit of an attitude. By the way they both spoke, you could tell that someone didn't like them together or that there were issues. The defensive attitude about this is who I am like it or not, or no one can stop us. Still, it's scary that you could think that little of your mother to do that. Basically, they could not accept being told "no". He didn't like his fathers girlfriend because she probably said things to him he didn't like etc. Way to ruin your young life kids.
Charlotte media reported today that the wondertwins had stolen $1400.00 from Mom's place of employment, and she was threatening to turn them in.

I am going to have to add "douchebaggery" to my repertoire. Sounds like it would have been better for the mother if they had stayed in California.
I would have never pegged them as killers of anyone, especially a parent. Dufus comes to mind when looking at that myspace pic. Sigh-ya just never effing know. Reading your previous entry about the maniac in TX and looking at his pic didn't jive either. I thought, he's a nice looking guy. Ooops, unless he has a knife or sword. I checked the local Charlotte sites and saw no COD. The interviews with the guy that found her led me to believe she was "intact". And LE's BOLO don't approach the car, made me think gun. What kind of bag do you use to dispose of a whole adult in? I have nothing handy in my home, so what the hell did they have laying around at the motel? It's all so sad. Did children frequently murder their parents, parents murder children, spouses murder spouses so easily and we never heard about these atrocities before the Internet?
Thanks. But some material just makes it a little too easy, y'know?
