Teen strangled, slit 9-year-old's throat
A 6-year-old boy named Cole Puffinburger is missing under mysterious circumstances in Nevada.
According to the Las Vegas Metro Police, Cole was kidnapped from his residence around 7:15 this morning. Authorities say three hispanic men abducted the child during the course of a robbery. The men allegedly knocked on the door of the residence and said they were police. They entered and bound Puffinburger's mother and "a male friend." The men allegedly searched the home for money and found none. So they took Cole, instead.
Read this paragraph from the Nevada Amber Alert about the descriptions of the suspects:
The reason why there was a delay in the AMBER Alert activation was that LVMPD did not have a reliable vehicle or suspect description, however, they have now given us a description of one of the three Hispanic males who are now suspects.
Police say the suspects have Hispanic accents. One suspect has slicked-back, shoulder-length hair. He is in his 30s, 5'7" and 150 lbs.
There is no description available of any vehicle that might have been involved in this case.
I hope Cole comes home safe and sound. But there's something really weird about this Amber Alert. A quick check of Google Maps seems to show that the area from which Cole was abducted is not rural at all. No one saw a vehicle with three hispanic men and a blond 6-year-old?
As they like to say on certain message boards, I'm afraid my hinky meter has been tripped, here.
UPDATE
AMW's entry about Cole's kidnapping gives a little more detail. I'm not sure it makes me less suspicious. From America's Most Wanted:
Cops tell AMW that two Hispanic males, posing as police officers and carrying handguns, entered a private residence near Hollywood and Lake Mead Boulevards at about 7:00 a.m. on Oct. 15, 2008 and demanded money from the boy's grandfather. However, investigators say the grandfather has not lived at that house since May 2007.
Cops told AMW that the men only kidnapped Cole after they ransacked the place and couldn't find any money.
The story is almost plausible. But almost doesn't strike me as good enough. Just saying.

yes, i'm sure 3 hispanic men came into their home at 7 in the morning looking for cash, but decided to take their son instead. very believable. from what i know of human nature, this looks ugly on more than one level. poor kid.
Posted 10/15/2008 at 10:29:01 PMIf it smells this bad to us, imagine what the cops must think.
Posted 10/15/2008 at 10:38:49 PMYeah, my hinky meter is off the charts right now... I believe it's a case of "Put Down The Penis and Walk Away".
Posted 10/15/2008 at 11:22:48 PMI felt the same bad feeling that the mother/"boyfriend" are involved as soon as I read this. He is such an adorable little boy. I hope I am wrong.
Posted 10/15/2008 at 11:23:57 PMThis one makes NO sense to me. Unless the family is VERT wealthy and this has turned into a kindnapping for ransom what in the world would break in robbers want with a 6 year old boy who is only a liability. Something is really weird about this one.
Posted 10/15/2008 at 11:34:38 PMWhat you all said. I could be wrong, but so far I'm not buying the story so far either. I hope I'm wrong. He sure is a cute little boy.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 12:17:28 AMcome on people.
just because they haven't found the kid u assume that the family made the damn story up to get rid of there kid for no reason.
Conspiracy bull shit is what is tearing this kid away from his family

Care to tell us more? That's a pretty leading statement.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 12:53:26 AMThe disappearance of Caylee Anthony has made a lot of people intensely suspicious of stories about vanishing children that don't seem to hold together all that easily. There may be details about this one that police can't tell, yet, that would make it more believable. I'm skeptical, but not as much as some. Maybe we'll find out more tomorrow.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 12:58:05 AMOur prayers are with you child.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 01:05:39 AMI live just two miles from the site of this kidnapping and this area is over-run with Mexicans! They may have lost land to the US a century ago but they're taking it back now! I used to like to vacation south of the border but anymore it's unnecessary because I LIVE IN MEXICO NOW!
Posted 10/16/2008 at 03:35:57 AMlisten people. i know this family. Cole's dad is a very very decent man who cares deeply for his son. I was out tonight posting flyers, talking to neighbors and spreading his picture. how about instead of sitting here questioning why he is gone, you go amke a flyer and get him home. Otherwise keep your hurtful, empty and disgusting thoguhts to yourself. There is a whole family worried sick looking for thier boy now and all you can talk about is your hinky meter.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 04:26:16 AMThey took Cole, because Cole might know atleast one of the boys that robbed them. Perhaps there was no car because the boys might live in the neighborhood. Like on Hathaway. Ok I do Physic readings perhaps there was a rifle involved and the boy is tied up with a rope he is begging and crying. I also see that golf might have something to do with this. Like he is on a golf coarse At any rate he is close to home
Posted 10/16/2008 at 05:03:26 AMLook people there is so much more to this story than is being reported and no the mother is not involved in any way. I know this family personally. The three hispanic men are part of a mexican drug cartel. The grandfather of this little boy is a piece of shit drug smuggler, he stole money from the drug cartel and they are taking this boy in retaliation in hopes that the grandfather will come out of hiding and give himself up the money up or whatever , I do not know. I do know the boy is obviously in great danger and it is all because his grandfather decided to steal money from the wrong people. This boy was targeted because they have been unable to track him down and they could easily find his daughter and her son and we all know how these drug cartels work. The mother had received threats from these people a few months back but has no contact with her father so was unable to do anything about it. I assume there is good reason that the police are not reporting all these details but I assure you that this little boy is missing and the mother or boyfriend have nothing to do with it. I know this sounds like it is out of a movie but it is the sad truth. The money they were looking for was a very large sum in the millions stolen from the cartel. So now that you know this it should make sense that taking the grandson might encourage the thieving grandfather to come out of hiding which is what I think they are hoping for. Pray for this little boy and most importantly be on the lookout for him.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 05:14:54 AMwow.. that makes more sense than any other comment i read.

Posted 10/16/2008 at 05:33:20 AMOur prayers are with the mother and father (and little Cole) at this difficult time. Hopefully the grandfather will do the right thing and give the money back to whom he stole it from. Thank you Joe...whoever you are for the informative comment on what is truly happening in this sad family. It all makes so much more sense now. Continue to believe that God will protect Cole who is an innocent in all of this.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 07:43:58 AMPoor little Cole. No matter what the adults involement might be, Cole is an innocent six year old child and needs to be safe. How far from home would they take this child to hide him, if it is a drug deal gone bad?
Posted 10/16/2008 at 08:16:33 AMJoe, thank you so much for the info you provided. Poor Cole seems to be caught up in something horrible. I'm praying for his quick and safe return.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 10:38:35 AMThis child is in imminent danger. If he is not found fairly immediately, he will be killed. I am an astrologer who examines charts from a forensic perspective. The Abduction Chart shows Cole, not dead, but in imminent danger of death SOON. I am sorry, but I have seen many, many death charts and this is on the verge of becoming one....
Sadly,

The bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue, which means that you can speak things into existence. As the mother of six children, I certainly would not appreciate all of the negative confessions saying that my child was going to die. Instead, I would pray that everyone would confess that my child was found safe.
As for the psychics and astrologers, most of the them are fakes, seeking their own glory. The very few who really think they are helping, are seeing visions and signs planted by satan. The bible says not to consult psychics, mediums, astrologers, etc. They are powered by the devil, whether they know it or not. Sadly, like I said, they think they are helping.
Instead of posting conspiracy theories and visions of a child tied up and crying - why would you even plant that vision in their heads? - please confess that the family is saved, and that the child is home and safe. All things are possible with the Lord.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 03:24:05 PMYes, I totally believe you can speak horrible things into existence. In fact, I have proof of this. One week before the Republican National Convention, John McCain went into his bathroom, switched off the lights, lit a single candle, and chanted the words "Sarah Fucking Palin" 3 times. Then, like a lipstick clad pig from heaven, she appeared before him, and blessed his campaign with an epic loss.
Err pardon me, that's all hyperbole and what I'm really trying to say is you are as nutty as the psychic and the astrologer.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 04:21:36 PMFirst to the girl who knows Cole,God bless you, your family, and those in this journey to get Cole home. Post and keep posting more flayers up. Im in San Diego, CA, otherwise i would be out there with all of you. Joe, though the information was not good (The grandfather and the drug cartel) It gives me hope that there could soon be a away to get Cole home. To the family, don't lose hope! When i first read this i thought human trafficking, which is a problem thats treatinging every serfice of this Planet. To the God-Fearing Mother Amen i say to you! I could not agree more.
Father who can do all things, we faithful ask that this be undone by your power. In you we trust and ask to send Cole home Lord. Please Shelter him with your love right now. Receive onto him our prayers of love and joy. Give him strength and courage. In opportunity let your hand guide him with your knowledge. Protect him from the Accuser and these talmuds(empty ones). Abba(Father),let Your Will be done.

Joe you are absolutely right. i'm a friend of the family as well. It kills me to see these people assume that there's a different motive behind this. I've been telling everyone i can and trying to get the word out. so that's all we can do i guess. i really hope cole is okay with all of my heart.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 08:56:57 PMMY GOD. Do you people not know how blogs work? There is a link at the top where it says, red on white, "True Crime Report." Click it. Then you will see that there are other posts, and they outline the story as it is unfolding. Please, before you pop off in the comments here, check for other entries. I've already quoted Joe in a new entry and added a quote from the link he provided. I've also given out contact info, Joe, if you're interested. You can remain anonymous.
But people, if you find one blog entry on the Internet, never assume it's the only one on the site about the subject at hand. Sometimes it is. In this case, it most definitely is not.
Posted 10/16/2008 at 09:05:34 PMYou started updating the story on this page. You should have continued to do so. To put updates to the story on another page makes no sense. You were too harsh regarding the matter to the people who made comments on this page. I think if you've got a site with a story, you should keep it on the same page anyway . . . so people don't have to go searching around. How would anybody know to click on that masthead anyway?
Posted 10/17/2008 at 12:58:02 AMNo. I don't have a site with "a story." I have a site covering several stories, every day, most of the day. That's how it works. I didn't set up this or most of the several million other blogs on the Internet this way, but I've been reading sites with this basic design since at least 1999, and to answer your last question -- I get annoyed if I click on the masthead and I don't get taken back to the main page. A company that specializes in weblog construction recently did a survey of a site I manage for a friend, and one of their chief recommendations was making the masthead clickable, so it returned to the home page. That's standard protocol in blog site design, Internet wide. That's all the discussion of this you get from me. I realize my comment above sounded a little harsh, but that's probably a function of me being so accustomed to the way these sites work. They typically work with a masthead that helps you orient yourself to the index, or main page, and posts about a given story rarely update more than twice. When I ran my own blog (I only write the content on this one, don't design it) I might update six times in one entry. But the layout of the True Crime Report is such that to get better search engine ranking, I need to make separate entries -- so a given post will rarely have more than two updates before I make a new one. Hope that's clarified things, at least a little.

Posted 10/17/2008 at 10:23:19 AMIf this child is found safe he should not be returned to any of his famil. I am praying for you Cole.
Posted 10/17/2008 at 09:19:08 PMAll the praying in the world isn't going to save the boy. These people are walking with the devil. For your info God-Fearing Mother, God isn't thinking about this world anymore, nor the people in it, he has turned his back on us,the world have not heard from God for over two thousand years. Why do you think all these things are happening.
Posted 10/17/2008 at 10:49:05 PMto whom it may concern cole and his family are my cousins i know the family very well. It's a close and loving family cole means the world to them everything you say about this family is false.Just because the grandfather,is involved with the wrong people is no reason to slander the family. His daughter is a loving mom and productive citzen she would never let anything happen to him intentionlly or subjet him to these kind of people she is protective and has never taken drugs. she doesnt even live with the grandfather. He strayed from the family. He has been missing for months.Cole needs to be returned to his mom shes the only one that can give him the love and sercurity he needs. This is a freaky and horrific thing that could happen to any family that has relatives who are involved in crime activities. We all love and miss cole very much and we pray he is returned safe and sound to his mom.You have no right slandering her and her family.Just put yourself in her place and think how much cole misses his mom.We all love cole.I can't wait to get him back.I love him.God bless
Posted 10/18/2008 at 08:04:47 AMFor StarAngel0833 who said God is against us, your totally wrong. Keep your nasty, rude, ignorant comments to yourslef! God saved us all!!! And look, he brought this adorable Cole back safely! God looked out for him, so you got something to say now? This just proves God looks out for us. your a sick person. U should be thankful he made it home ok!
