Parents traded sex with daughter for minivan
Anne Pressly, the Little Rock, AR journalist who was savagely attacked in her home last week, has passed away. She was 26 years old. Pressly died as a result of her injuries. According to numerous press reports, the journalist was badly bludgeoned about the head and upper body.
A statement on the website of Anne's employer, KATV, says, "Channel 7 cannot express our grief at the loss of Anne, our dear friend and co-worker."
Reports published earlier on Saturday seemed to indicate that Pressly's condition might be improving.
Pressly's attacker beat the 5'10" news anchor with a blunt object. According to her father, there was evidence that Pressly fought for her life.
The attacker focused on her head, breaking nearly every bone in her face. Because of this, the crime sounds like it could have been personal -- at least it sounds that way to me. The police seem to be working a theory of a robbery gone terribly wrong, but there has been speculation in the political blogosphere that the attack was somehow related to Pressly's brief role in Oliver Stone's W as an Ann Coulter-like pundit. Anything is possible, but I find that idea ridiculous, at the moment.
Currently, there is a 5-figure reward for information leading to the arrest of Pressly's killer. [KATV.com]

How terribly sad. I almost cried when I read the news. So much promise to end so tragically.
I hope they catch whom ever did this and punish him or her
to the extent of the law.
My deepest sympathies to her family
Posted 10/25/2008 at 09:27:26 PMI am very sad to hear this news. My sympathy to her family and friends.
Posted 10/25/2008 at 09:28:40 PMWhere are we that the life of a human being has so little value? Something has to change.
My condolences to Ann's friends and family.
Posted 10/25/2008 at 10:00:22 PMThis has to chill the blood of every news anchor in the country. I've heard tham many of them have stalkers. Who knows what's in the mind of a psychopath?
Posted 10/25/2008 at 10:00:43 PMSo sad. I really had thought she might make it.
Posted 10/25/2008 at 10:19:38 PMI saw on a cable show a neighbor said the police had asked his wife about a baseball bat. I guess Anne really didn't have a chance. I hope they catch this monster.
Too horrible to be true, yet it is.
Posted 10/25/2008 at 10:59:27 PMI am stunned, absolutely stunned. So very sad. There is really nothing more to say.
Posted 10/26/2008 at 12:02:59 AMI have cried many tears for this young beautiful woman whom I have never met but seem to know her because I see her on my local news everyday. She was so very talented and my heart aches so bad for her family my thoughts and prayers are with the Pressly family at their time of loss. May God be with them and help them continue on with their loss and remember all the good that their fine young family member Anne has done in her short but beautiful life. Anne has touched the lives of many and is now in a better place. Rest in Peace Anne you will be missed dearly!
Posted 10/26/2008 at 12:28:44 AMAccording to the Trib this AM, Anne's credit card was used at a nearby gas station.
Posted 10/26/2008 at 09:29:05 AMI am crying as I post this. I feel so sorry for Ann's family. Ann is in a better place now, but for the people she left behind, a much darker place. I have never met Ann, however, I have a beautiful sister her age with the same big smile that lights up any room. I am so sorry for your loss. Suzy, Arlington, VA
Posted 10/26/2008 at 10:25:11 AMI could not believe it - I thought she was going to recover from all accounts I read. This is just heartbreaking. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
Posted 10/26/2008 at 12:17:53 PMColleen, men commit 95% of all physical violence. It is possible that the attacker was female, but highly unlikely. Only when discussing violence inflicted onto females will people carefully imply that it might not be a man "this time".
The news reported no sign of forced entry, only that her purse was taken. It is strange that she had enough energy to crawl into bed by herself, but didn't have enough strength to dial 911.
Posted 10/26/2008 at 05:34:58 PMThat's so sad. :( I feel awful for her and her family. I hope they find the person soon and she gets the justice she deserves. RIP Ms Pressly! She's the same age as me and I'm sure just starting her career so sad.
Posted 10/26/2008 at 08:00:06 PMIt's difficult to fathom something to this extent that one would never imagine a person could do to someone. It's these types of cowardly, despicable, and inhumane acts that anger people and what's worse is that almost every time, the offender has little or no remorse. It's angering! The world needs more of Anne Pressly and less of these no-good, useless thugs that choose to kill instead of get a f**in job!
Posted 10/26/2008 at 11:14:35 PMI am so deeply saddened by the loss of this beautiful woman.
Posted 10/28/2008 at 02:17:21 AMM Andrea, how do you know men commit 95% of violent acts. Have you done a study on this. I am sure you have not since the actual # is close to 60%. Second, maybe she didnt crawl into bed, she may have been put there...I find it strange that you would question her being able to do that but not dial 911...
Posted 10/29/2008 at 05:37:45 AMIn the memory of Anne Pressly
A profound sadness has blanketed our home
As Anne Pressly has sadly and untimely passed on.
My children and I have shed many tears
But Anne knows no sadness and now knows no fears
Her mother needs to know how hard we have prayed
Finding Anne on that horrible day
But that kind face and huge smile are the same as they were.
As Jesus has held her and healed her for sure.
Einstein had a theory that we never really die
Cause energy never closes and this you can rely
The energy of Anne left Little Rock with a bang
And as she reached heaven, angels crowded and sang
They cried out in joy and said who is she
What a wonderful girl, what an angel she'll be
The angels looked around thinking if something was wrong
Then they smiled and told others and broke out in song.
Anne had brightened up heaven somehow even more.
No other had done this, they knew this for sure.
But Arkansas knows and were not surprised.
Anne lit up our homes like recieving a prize
To her friends at channel seven don't think that she's gone.
Her spirit is there just where it belongs.
Pam, Melinda, and Beth she loved you the same
And many more people, I don't know by name.
So hold your heads up, I'm praying each day
Remember the fun times and things she would say
Anne's now reporting the news that's in heaven
But at the end she smiles and says this is from Channel seven
So don't be surprised if you receive a new story
The tape will be stamped from her in glory.

If possible please send this to Anne Pressly's mother.
Thank You
Posted 10/29/2008 at 12:12:26 PMThe way Anne was beaten in the head, breaking every bone in her face, sounds like it was from someone jealous of her beauty. This could have been done by a jealous woman.
Posted 10/30/2008 at 12:24:50 PMIts sooo very sad that this world has people who do so many senseless crimes on one another. why are we becomming a society of hate- fullness - when a human life means notting to those who take it so freely and when facing justice cry out when it's there turn to pay the price with there own life. I feel the death penalty should not be sought life in prison is what they should get and pay back a judgement to the family of the victim for the rest of there life and the money earn in-prison hard labor should pay for there up-keep not the tax-payers of that state. so if they have to live on a dollar or 50-cents a day so be it.
