Teen strangled, slit 9-year-old's throat

Police did indeed find the remains of missing Long Island teacher Leah Hirschel Walsh in the woods near the Long Island Expressway today. William Walsh Jr., Leah's 29-year-old husband, has been charged with her murder. Looks like his act couldn't hold up under scrutiny, after all. No surprise, since videos show that Walsh couldn't muster anything approaching sincere-seeming grief or fear. His face was an impassive mask in an ABC video shot yesterday; he only used his voice to give the impression he was sobbing.
I still wish these stories weren't so damned predictable, and spouse killers didn't think they could get away with it. They rarely do. [1010 WINS]

He actually looks like he's holding back a laugh in this picture. This one didn't even take much time before they fingered him - guess the police (and the public) were smarter than he thought.
These stories always make me wonder if you ever can truly think you know someone.
Posted 10/30/2008 at 10:27:41 AMThat is exactly what I thought, Melly! Whatever happened to divorce, or making a marriage work?
Posted 10/30/2008 at 10:41:30 AMDidn't take him long to fold...

Posted 10/30/2008 at 12:53:25 PMI think so too Melly. That was my first thought seeing the picture. Why don't these guys take acting classes or something? At least they could try. It will be interesting to see what he says as for his reasoning etc. Watch he's going to plead some sort of mental issue heh heh. Maybe he could've got some lessons from Ashley Todd.
Posted 10/30/2008 at 02:50:46 PMWhen did the "stigma" of divorce become so much worse than the "stigma" of murder????
Posted 10/30/2008 at 03:39:14 PMI wonder how this poor woman's students will deal with her death. When I was in the 7th grade, our very popular teacher was killed in a car accident, and it was devastating. I know very little about autism, but I would think that this would be extremely difficult for students and their parents alike, not to mention of course Leah's colleagues, friends and family. At least her husband wasted no time proclaiming his innocence, a la Scott Peterson.
