KRISTEN HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS SAFE. UPDATES AT END OF POST

Kristen Stith, a 16-year-old girl from Bridgetown, OH, has been missing since 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon...

Kristen was wearing jeans, a heart-patterned pink and white hooded shirt, red sweatshirt, and white shoes. She is 5'6" and weighs 135 lbs. Kristen has brown hair, green eyes, and she wears braces.

Cincinnati TV station WCPO reported that "Police believe there is a possibility foul play."

Kristen's MySpace revealed a less demure version of the girl seen in the handout photos published in Cincinnati area media, but Kristen still could be anyone's kid. From her "About me":

"2=brothers 3= sisters,

Kristen's last login was October 25, 2008. A look at the comments on her site don't reveal any worried messages from friends yet, but they may provide some insight into her life prior to Sunday afternoon.

If you kinow anything about Kristen's disappearance, call 513-352-3542 or 513-352-3040. You may remain anonymous and could receive money for your information.

**UPDATE**

Commenter (and long-time reader) "Kindralore" directed me towards this news station web forum and the following comment:

"KristensMom - 1:18 AM

"This is Kristen's mother and she is not a runaway. We found her missing and within 15 minutes some animal was texting from her phone saying that this B**** is done, telling us how she screams and other horrible things...and the police still wouldn't call it a kidnapping!! She was at a house directly across the street from Covedale Performing Arts Center. She was there with our family, walked outside and was GONE! Please pray for her and I hope someone saw something and has the nerve to come forward and help us find my baby!"

Anyone who can help confirm the information in the post above, please e-mail me via the GMail address in the sidebar on the right or leave a comment below.

***UPDATE***

Kristen has been found okay at a convenience store.

One online article, which was revised after Kristen was found, previously stated that she had mental health issues. If she did, they probably played a part in her disappearance. If the post left on the Channel 12 forum (see update above) was left by Kristen's mom, Kristen Stith has more than the usual amount of explaining to do.

But at least she's safe, by all accounts. Regardless of the issues Kristen and her family may now need to deal with, too many stories about missing kids still end in tragedy.

I edited the original post to remove some info, though I am aware it will be in Google for a while.
