Yep. It took long enough. It took a totally different crime. But Orenthal James Simpson may finally see substantial time in prison. Maybe even life. One can only hope.[ESPN]

ka ching! I can remember the last Oct the 13th when the jury was out and found him not guilty! It was shocking! I find the same date and 13 hours of deliberation eerie to say the least. I was glad to see this day. I guess the glove fit this time, didn't it OJ!
Posted 10/05/2008 at 11:25:54 AMwhat a miscarriage of justice his murder trail was.jurors illistrated sleeping thru tiral etc.he almost cut a women's head off and hacked another to death also.if this is the only way for any justice,at least it gets a violent criminal off the street.
Posted 10/05/2008 at 02:22:53 PMWhile Vegas might seem to be a wide open town, in reality the people who live there (and make the laws) have more in common with the Old West than the Mob. In all the coverage of the trial this time around, no one has bothered to mention how the casinos rule that town. Remember, this is a city where the casinos make people who simply count cards extremely unwelcome. Imagine how they feel about jackasses who decide to stage armed robberies on their property. They were determined to make an example of OJ in case anyone else decided to pull a half-assed "Ocean's Eleven" and then pointed to Simpson getting away with it as their inspiration. Yeah, whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, anywhere from 5-20, including Simpson's murdering ass.
Posted 10/06/2008 at 12:08:26 PMThe verdict came 10 or 11 (I forget which) years to the day that he was acquitted for the murders he was decidedly guilty of. Justice is a cold bitch, even when she's 10 years past due.
Posted 10/06/2008 at 03:49:54 PMNancy Collins, I loved your phrase, "half assed oceans eleven"! That is so descriptive! You could even cross it with grumpy old men!
Posted 10/07/2008 at 10:25:39 AMI am in no way on OJ's side here, but this isn't related to the trial in 1995. When people say he is finally going to jail for that crime, he isn't. He is in jail for a different crime. I understand what people mean, but it really isn't correct. Plus, for him to get life in prison for this doesn't seem right either. There are people who commit murder that get less than life. I guess I just feel the justice system can be strange. I don't think that his cockiness was a good idea. I read he had a party planned for after the trial. Not smart.

Sometimes you've got to take your justice where & when you can get it. After all, Al Capone didn't go to prison for murder, or even racketeering--he went to Alcatraz on tax evasion. But everyone felt it was justice for all the other crimes he was blatantly guilty of. And when Capone finally left prison, he was a broken man.
If you're going to commit a grisly double homicide (after a lengthy & documented history as a wife-beater), and be lucky enough to walk away from it, common sense should tell you to keep your damn nose clean for the rest of your life, because they next time you screw-up will be the LAST time. Lizzie Borden, at least, had the good sense to keep a low profile the rest of her life.
