Man kills serial pedophile
From treksterj on YouTube.
Sugar was 13 years old. The tailless white kitty still got around just fine. Since Sugar tended to announce his restlessness in the early morning hours by pacing back and forth on the piano, his owner, Mark McCanon, usually let Sugar out sometime around 3 a.m.
On Monday, Sugar didn't come back from his pre-dawn travels. Mark McCanon found his elderly cat dead in his backyard. Sugar had been slashed and gutted. The cat's tail and and legs were removed.
Sugar wasn't the first cat in this Lawrence, KS suburb to suffer such a gruesome fate. Another cat's severed head was found in a local park. Overall, as many as 3 cats have been mutilated, much like Sugar.
It has happened in Lawrence before. In September, 2005, an article was published by the Lawrence Journal-World & News about John and Rosie Elmore, and how they found their dog dead in the backyard of their home in southwest Lawrence on August 6 that year. Their pet had been mutilated as well.
As many as 3 other dogs as well as cats were killed that year. People were making it a point to bring their cats inside at night.
People wondered if the domestic animals had fallen prey to coyotes, or wildcats.
It might be a good idea to, wherever possible, review those cases in Lawrence. If the animals in Lawrence have fallen victim to the world's foremost apex predator, man, then it might just be a matter of time before the killer decides to try its hand at larger game.

We have the same thing going on here in Jonebsoro, AR. I think five cats were found mutilated in an upscale neighborhood. One cat had been gutted.
Police suspect it is a juvenile. Let's pray they catch him before he moves on to a bigger catch.

Same thing was going on here in Portland not too long ago. They never did catch anyone for it.
Posted 10/01/2008 at 03:06:41 PMHi D.P.! I live near Lawrence (in Leavenworth). It is a college town....a really cute town with a great downtown shopping street. Pretty creepy. We have been hearing it in in the news off and on over the last year since we got stationed here.....
Posted 10/01/2008 at 03:44:57 PMI hope they find whomever is doing this. What kind of monster does this to animals? It's like the stupid guy in New York who killed his girlfriends cat a couple years ago. He needs to be punished.
Posted 10/01/2008 at 04:08:30 PMHey, Nurse B!!
Do you mean Leavenworth, Washington? If yes....Well, welcome to the pacific northwest!! Get ready for the GRAY season!! lol (I actually love this time of year.)
To Krystal: Were you as surprised as I that that dude got away with a hung jury for smashing that poor cat? One hold out bought the story that an eight pound cat was threatening enough to a full grown man (an athlete, for pete's sake)that he needed to lethally protect himself.??
