99-year-old man beaten over parking spot

Dana Bruce was reported missing on October 5. A family member grew concerned after Dana left her children overnight with a babysitter on October 4. The 23-year-old resident of Sedalia, MO was supposed to go with a male friend to Malone's on Main. Dana left with a man driving a red truck. She hasn't been seen since.
Now detectives from Missouri are in Atlanta talking to a man they call a "person of interest" in Dana's disappearance. Scent dogs and officers are combing the area around where the man worked in Sedalia. He was a pipefitter and welder at Pro Energy.
The man who is being questioned in Georgia was arrested in Atlanta. He has been charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. The 34-year-old apparently decided to leave Sedalia on October 14, after police there said they'd like to interview him again about Dana's disappearance.
The missing woman was dana_jane22 on MySpace.com. Her profile was a study in contrasts. She had a "Playboy's Finest" background decorated with the iconic bunny head in neon white edged with purple, and glittering graphics reading "Hot Stuff" and "I cared to [sic] much in the past to care now." Dana also had a graphic featuring a photo of her and her two children, towheaded little boys barely out of pull-ups.
Dana Bruce had 108 friends on MySpace, and most of the top 28 friends visible on her main page were young men, often with their shirts off and throwing faux gangsta attitude at the camera.
The comments left by some friends since October 4 told some of the story behind the mystery of Dana Bruce's disappearance.
On October 5th, a female friend wrote "dana is missing!!!" She continued, "this is not a joke." The following day a friend named Janet repeated the first message about Dana's disappearance and added, "DANA HAS TWO KIDS THAT SHE WOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT FOR THIS LONG. IF YOU READ THIS DANA PLEASE CALL US EVERYONE IS WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU !!!!"
An interesting aspect of the comments was the detail mentioned in passing about the man with whom Dana was last seen; no one in her usual circle of friends seemed to know who he was.
By October 15, Dana's friend Angelina was panicked. Her comment read, in part, "I CANT TAKE MUCH MORE..I WISH THERE WAS A WAY FOR THE FAMILY TO KNOW YOUR OK..YOU KNOW WE ALL LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!!ITS BEEN A WEEK AN A HALF AN NOBODY HAS HEARD FROM YOU IF THERES ANY WAY FOR YOU TO LET US KNOW YOUR OK PLEASE DO SO..."
It just isn't looking good for Dana Bruce. A mysterious disappearance. A man who skips town when the police request an interview. None of it adds up to a good result. And even if Dana's vanishing isn't a high-profile case, it's quite clear there are some friends, relatives, and two small boys who care very much about what happened to her.
And all the hardbodies in Dana's top 28? Whoever they are (not all of them are celebrities, except perhaps in their own minds), not a single one has left a comment since she vanished.

I cannot imagine what Dana's family is going through right now. I hope for the best but only time will tell. So sad and scary.

Um....anyone notice that Dana's friends started posting that she was missing on 10/5, and that she or someone else (probably LE) logged into her MySpace page on 10/6?
Posted 10/17/2008 at 12:14:17 AMSince I've been blogging about MySpace and crimes related to MySpace profiles since early 2005, I can guarantee you that log-in was either the cops or a relative. That's become so common I don't even notice it any more. I can only think of one case where it was later proven that a killer logged in to his victim's MySpace. That was Joshua Bean in Indianapolis, who killed his girlfriend, then logged in to her profile and tried to make it look as if she'd made a final blog post about getting out of town. She'd actually been dead for days. Nine times out 10, you can bet it's the cops or a family member trying to figure things out.
Posted 10/17/2008 at 12:18:21 AMD.P., "tools" is just the word for the guys on her page! Dana looks so young, even for 23, and tiny. Not hard to imagine her being overpowered, particularly if she goes for the musclebound type.
How sad for her little ones, to not know where she is. BTW, Steve - I believe one of those towheads is a little girl.
Posted 10/17/2008 at 10:52:02 AMDana does not have two boys she has a three year old son and a 1 year old girl that turns two on friday im almost positive the 34 year old man is invold in her disaperance. her myspace has nothing to do with her disaperance. lots of single females have myspaces like hers. she is one of the most caring people i know and she is so sweet i cant see how anyone could hurt her. if anyone knows anything about her disaperance they should talk to the detectives.

Police are still actively searching for her. I can tell that she has many family and friends that care deeply about her. May God bless everyone who knows Dana. I hope that there will be a good outcome, they are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Posted 11/14/2008 at 12:27:47 PMDana, is some one's daughter, mother, friend Human being.I have her pictue on the door of my salon' I look at it every day and can hardley imagine what I would do if this were my child,I would turn every rock over and look where ever I had known her to ever go even if it was to parties, parking with a boy friend and turn every leaf over.a non responible person would have not paid the sitter for extra time.Some one knows somthing and who ever it is I hope every day of your life you are looking over your schoulder because the peop;e that dana has touched even if they did'nt know her personaly has been affected her children are without thier mommy YOU WILL BE FOUND!If any one has any info no matter how small it seem it could be the piece of the puzzle the police need's.

Posted 12/29/2008 at 07:10:48 PMI don't know if the sedalia police have investigated the possibility that the body of dana bruce may have been buried under the freshly poured concrete at the Pro Energy site. The man in question worked at pro energy. He had ample time to become familiar with the fact that site was in construction. What better way to forever hide a body if not under the concrete of a freshly constructed pro steel building. In criminal profiling we learn that criminals usually commit their crimes in areas they are known to. The man in question knew the area, thus making a very plausable possibility.

Posted 01/11/2009 at 08:35:40 PMthis is so sad.i knew dana a few years ago when she was pregnant with her first child. i met her through a friend ashley and when i met her she did not seem like a mom that would leave her kids! you need to get her back to her babies.

Its pretty sad that people want to talk more about how she was at a bar the night she went missing just because she was at a bar does NOT make her a bad person,she's only human.We as a community need to pull toghter and help in any way we can.I did not even know this girl and joined a search to help Iam a mother of two and would want all the help I could get if this was my child.People need to quit judging her who do they think they are. I am sorry this has happened and my heart is out to her friends and family! "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven!" Posted 02/10/2009 at 06:50:06 PMI live next door to where Dana use to stay with Janet and Virgil uplinger, i've only met her a few times and she was the sweetest person and i have baby sat her kids recently for janet and virgil and those kids love thier mother and need her some, god bless janet and virgil for taking care of these precious kids and god bless dana bruce and bring her home safely to her kids.
Posted 02/19/2009 at 03:18:37 PMi used to live next door to dana i can not find any reason why this has happened to a good person.she was a really good friend and always there for you when u needed her,she loved her kids more than anyone.her son misses her dearly,and dont know exactly what has happened that just shes not home,i hope that soon we all can figure this out i pray for the whole family every night,and that the sob is found and soon,i pray that she will be fine,but as days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months,it lowers my belief, either way it will put eveyone at eise, GOD IS WITH YOU DANA AND WE LOVE YOU

It's been months since the local police and county sheriff have updated the community. Is the case forgotten? Dana's children, family, and friends deserve closure and answers. The person/s who know what happened to Dana need to call the LE with the information. God give them the courage and strength to confess where Dana is and what happened to her.

Posted 09/16/2009 at 03:49:52 AMIt was a year on October 4th that Dana was last seen. And as far as we know there has not been any new information. Dana will soon be missing her childrens birthdays again for the second time. I know if Dana were alive she would not even have missed one of the kids birthdays. She loved her kids so much, they were her world. We really miss Dana and know that if she was still alive she would be with her kids.
