This is so sad!!! I live in chicago (from the south suburbs) and am a passenger in a car driving on the expressway right now. We just passed the electronic amber alert system and I saw the alert....im keeping my eyes peeled for those cars....my heart goes out to jennifer and her family. Thanks for covering this steve.

Wading through all the comments on the MySpace page for Julia Hudson (Balfour's wife, Julian's mother, Jennifer's sister) I realized that today, October 24, was her birthday. She'll never have another birthday without realizing all she lost. I hope, I hope that her baby boy is not among those losses. Balfour is in custody, where is Julian?

According to the Chicago Tribune, it was Julia who reported the boy missing, and she has been meeting with law enforcement.

I know that this is a news story because of Jennifer Hudson, but it is amazing to me that so little focus is on that of the missing child. He's only seven years old! Since the suspect is in custody, you would think that the media would turn their attention to this last heartbreaking question.

Thanks for the timely and comprehensive post. I work in law enforcement and I continue to be amazed at the frequent brutality of domestic disputes. You'd think that the people one loves the most, or at least used to, would be the last ones targeted with such violence. So often, the opposite comes true.

Some one was on William's, aka Flex, myspace account at 11:50 pm tonight, west coast time. I was looking at Julia's page a few minutes before that and she was online. Many people have posted to her place with their prayers and only one to his since this tragety has happened. I wonder who was logged on to his site and what they are looking for.

Where is Julian? Where is the missing Suburban? The Hudsons are dead, and there's nothing more to be done about that. There is still a child out there, and God willing, perhaps he's still alive. There's a lot of water in Chicago, I wonder if they are looking there.
