I'm glad he's dead. I knew him during his killing spree, but as a gentle, quiet man who spoke softly and frequented the club I then worked at on Lyell Avenue. I thought of him as a friend. He was never improper and was probably the absolute last person I would have suspected. I was shocked when he was arrested. In later years I watched the documentary on him and although I shook and cried though most of it, was unable to change the channel. When a friend told me today he had died, I cried. Not for him. For me. And for those he killed. Again, I'm glad he's dead and I'm glad I was lucky enough not to piss him off.

I saw it first thing this this morning on my server, and I couldn't help feeling glad. Robin, I am glad you are safe from him too! Didn't he kill young children when he was younger and swapped as there was "too much fuss" (to quote the person concerned) when a child vanished? Or am I mixing him up with someone else?

Shawcross was right up there with Bar-Joseph & Duncan when it comes to worthless sacks of protoplasm. At least he and Bar-Joseph are no longer breathing.

This man murdered two children and served only 15 years for those crimes. That alone is unbelievable. Then he gets out and murders 11 more people in two years. I agree, he is a typical psychopath that feels no remorse and is absolutely resentful that anyone thinks he did anything wrong.

I'm just sorry Jack Olsen went first and missed the chance to say goodbye to this particular cold-hearted snake. Jack's book on him was brilliant, and Jack saw through Shawcross's lies, but the man couldn't have been a comfortable subject to write about.

I wouldn't conjure up too much sympathy for "Robin". Shawcross never frequented clubs. He did not go to bars, dance clubs or strip joints. He did not even hang around clubs. The only place that he frequented, aside from outdoor locations where he hunted and fished, was the Dunkin Donuts and that wasn't even close to Lyell Ave.

He wouldn't have touched "Robin" anyway even if she'd known him (highly unlikely) and pissed him off. Lots of people pissed him off -- his wife Rose, his girlfriend Clara, all of Clara's many children and they're all still alive and well. He killed specific people for specific reasons and it had nothing at all to do with "pissing anyone off".

I guess Robin feels the need to make up tall tales to make herself feel important or to garner attention from others; pretty similar to how Shawcross operated.

Wow Maggie sounds like she wants to be known to have personal information about Shawcross and his diabolical mind, and his comeings and goings, but no one else does. Obviously this guy fooled a lot of people and the fact the he frquented bars looking for potential victims does seem very realistic, as prostitutes do stroll bars. I believe that Robin is telling the truth and she is a very lucky girl to be here today as she says. who knows if he couldn't find a hooker he might have gone for a bar maid.

Im sure that Maggie does have personal info on Art as many do (present company included )who have reached out to him in prison byway of the u.s. mail. I was also made privy to robins story byway of a mutual friend of ours at a tattoo shop in rochester ny and I in turn asked Art about her story to confirm or deny and I dont expect anyone to just take his word for it or mine for that matter but Art did only pick his ladies up directly from the street . He did not frequent bars as he did not drink and had no interest in paying to be teased at Klassy Kat or whichever other reputable establishment that robin " danced " for

I dont think Arthur should have been realesed after 14 years behind bars for killing jack blake and raping and killing Karen Hill.I am happy he is dead he is gong to spend the remaining of his life in hell
