• Rite and its her fault the he put the baby away from her too huh? she's totally to blame on the fact that grandpa put her kid away from her. Ya ya blah fucking blah. If he was watching the baby so she could get a couple hours of sleep then he should of put the baby in her room when he left not away from her or her mom so they couldn't hear him cry. • @katie graham. Maybe you should take your own advise and lay off the drugs. This woman was absolutely responsible for this child's death. When you are a parent you don't get to leave the room and take a nap and leave your child to the puppy to take care of your baby. Sure, the child wasn't hurt by her directly but she is still culpable for his death -- you can look that word up since I'm guessing by your inane comment you will need to do so.

• Dude the sad thing is this girl was a good friend of mine in high school. We hung out a lot, but when I found she was pregnant I knew she needed to stop with the bad things or somthing will happen. I love linzy but when I heard this I cried and said wow linzy what did you get yourself into this time. I thought you would know better then to let your baby out of your site.

• When I read this story I honestly cried! I cannot believe that a dirty skank like that could get off with probation and having to get her GED. The judge who issued that ruling was off his/her rocker. Anyone who has kids feels me. She deserves to spend her life rotting in prison.

• Zeke, I think you need to lay down the pipe for a little bit. She isn't responsible? She was this poor baby's "mother", of course she is responsible! When you have sex and become pregnant, you SHOULD become more responsible. But, to me, she didn't give a crap about this baby. All she thought about was herself. Its difficult to hear a baby, even if its being malled by a puppy? If she was such a "good" mom, where was the baby monitor? And before you say, "oh maybe she couldn't afford a baby monitor", she had a baby swing didn't she? Baby swings are a whole hell of a lot more expensive than baby monitors. They obviously knew that she was a troubled child, why in the hell would they leave her alone with a defenseless innocent child? And look, no one even fed the dog! How hard is that?! If you can't even take care of an animal, you shouldn't be allowed to have a child. And this crap about her being charged as a juvenile?! That's major bullsh*it! That 15 year old girl is being charged as an adult. Yes that crime is horrible, but this idiot "mother" let her puppy eat her son and she is being charged as a juvenile?! Are you freakin kidding me?! She should be sterilized,put in prison and never be allowed contact with children or animals. It pretty obvious that she is a very selfish person and shouldn't be trusted for the care of others. I live 2 miles from the kansas/oklahoma border, and all I can say is wow! Way to go oklahoma morons in the justice department!

• Its sad to hear this, I had known Linzy back in 5th grade around 2000 - 2001. She was such a sweet, gentle, shy girl who I had once thought to had known. She was my best friend. Now, hearing something like this had happened to her, at first was shocking to hear and hard to believe. I feel sorry for her, and do not blame her for such an act the little puppy did to her baby. I truly miss her very much and wished I could have been able to talk to her after I moved away from our school after 5th grade. But, I had lost touch with her and had forgotten her last name. But, soon after I saw the story on the news I had found her on myspace, but it was too late.. My deepest thoughts go out to her and her family.

• Wow Madachist you want to apply so sources and evidence to back up what your saying? They ASSUMED she had marijuana in her system the night BEFORE zane passed. If she is currently a drug addict she would NOT be about to get off of probation, your pulling your "facts" out of thin air and making a poor teenager look bad. This was a mistake. I see no one responsible for any of this, you can go into probably 3/5 homes in america and see exactly the same setup Linzys family had at the time, see infants around drug use all kinds of things. Tragedies and accidents occur and i feel absolutely horrible for linzy loosing her son and would gladly do something to help the poor girl out. I myself smoke marijuana, big deal, the effects of it are played out in the media to be FAR worse than it truly is, me and all of my friends in oklahoma who smoke have to all agree saying she was on marijuana is POINTLESS and useless. Marijuana can not effect your judgement like that especially doing it the night BEFORE this happened, personally i have never had a high last more than a couple hours.. i doubt hers lasted over night. Not even news storys can get there facts straight, ive heard in the Tulsa world she was at the grocery store while her mother was at car of the child and ive heard they were simply in the other end of the house. I have been in linzys neighborhood awhile back and seen the houses around there and seen hers personaly on the news, mine is not much larger and it can be very difficult to hear a baby in a house this size, especially with your average household items on(tv/dishwasher/dryers/ etc..etc..) and a dog may not take very long at all to harm that baby to the point where he may be making no sounds. Not a single person is to blame in the mess, accidents happen, and theres probably a million ways it could have been avoided but a 17 year old girl should not be responsible for that when her parents are housing her, her parents if anyone (no one should have been IMO) should have been at fault, not a 17 year old girl. • I went to school with Linzy. one of my teacher's neighbors worked the case and said that they found cocaine and marijuana in Linzy's system. Linzy did drugs during her pregnancy with Zane (who, btw was a beautiful baby). She is now a drug addict, again, as well as an alcoholic. She was arrested on school grounds multiple times for having drugs and dealing on campus. Zane was a beautiful baby and this shouldn't've happened and it only did cause his mother is a dumb ass who did various drugs.

• This is horrendous! i cant believe that they didnt feed the puppy and left the child unnatended. She should of had the baby took of her, maybe zane would still be alive. Shouldnt she also have been done for mistreating animals? not feeding them is mistreating them right? and when the grandfather left the baby in the swing he should have got linzy and again, maybe zane would still be alive! Also, everyone with a history of drug abuse and is suspected to be using them now aswell, shouldnt be aloud to have a child.

• This "mother" was on probation for drugs,(Juvenile Court) had an on going DHS,(guess they didn't visit as usual) case, and the DA twice refused to prosecute when she was arrested for drugs within a set distance of a school. Our system here in Ok. failed this child like so many before. Many here have lost children for much less.

• Just reading about this tragedy make me sick. Every time I hear about the abuse and/or death of a baby or child, I wonder what the hell is happening with the world. Is this kind of horrible neglect and abuse occuring more often, or is it just that we hear about it more and more due to the internet, TV and other forms of mass communication? As I have gotten older, I have become less tolerant of such cruelty-- to humans and animals. Linzy Earles has lost the right to have another child and should be sterilized ASAP and put in jail for a long time. In other cultures at other times, she probably would have been killed or left to survive (or die) on her own in the wild.

• The entire house is dysfunctional. How many "adults" were living there? None of them feed the dog, and they left a tiny infant in a swing unattended. The fact they walked out the door and left this mother to care for the baby indicates no one really thought she was doing anything wrong. If they were thinking, she'll have to be responsible if we leave her to do her job obviously didn't work. Tragic, but how we prevent such a mother from keeping her baby is a very difficult issue. It shouldn't be but it is. They could have taken away the puppy easier than the the baby. This poor little boy was going to "survive" his childhood even if this event had not taken his life.

• You just have to shake your head in disbelief when this piece-o-crap qualifies as a "juvenile" yet an 8 year old boy might be tried as an adult.

• Oh God...can I just call bullshit on the "charged as a juvenile" crap?? If she's old enough to be a mother, she's old enough to be charged as an adult!
