Did gold digger kill her elderly boyfriend?
Has Natalee Holloway's Body Been Found? [UPDATED]
This comes from the Broward-Palm Beach New Times blog "The Juice":
A Miami-based flight attendant for American Airlines tells The Juice that a cadaver dog was aboard a Miami-to-Aruba flight. The officer with the dog told the flight attendant that the dog was going to search for the remains of Holloway.
Natalee Holloway "They think they've found where Natalee Holloway's remains are, and they're taking the dog down to confirm that," said the flight attendant, who lives in Fort Lauderdale. "They're not telling anybody because Aruba is trying to keep this quiet."
If this is true, it would obviously be the biggest break yet in this most high-profile of international cold cases. Who knows? It might even send Joran van der Sloot back to jail for what, the 15th time? "The Juice" is waiting for further details. They'll also be highlighted here when and if they become available. If you've been in a coma since 2004 and have just awakened and are catching up on news, read more background on the 2005 disappearance of this pretty Alabama teen here.
UPDATE - RadarOnline.com has picked up this story, though they make it clear that their source is the New Times, since the post is basically a re-write of "The Juice's" blog entry.
UPDATE 2 - Aruba's Police Commissioner Strantan has told CNN that the news of a body being discovered in connection with Natalee Holloway's disappearance is false. It may be that the dog is just going to do a typical cadaver search.
Extreme skepticism always pays in this case.

I hope this is true, and maybe we can finally bring justice to Natalee and her family
Posted 03/20/2009 at 12:27:20 PMA talkative flight attendant, a talkative dog-handler ... I'm sure glad atleast no one so far is claiming that it was a talkative dog as well!
Scent? This late in the game? Gimmie a break!
Posted 03/20/2009 at 01:43:06 PMYeah - it is hard at this point to not treat any development in the Holloway case with anything less than extreme skepticism.
Posted 03/20/2009 at 01:45:38 PMAs much as I want to believe it will lead to something, this saga has already produced too many dead ends.
Posted 03/20/2009 at 03:35:33 PMJust to clarify, a cadaver dog won't be searching for Natalee's (living)scent. The dog will simply be searching for the scent of remains. If the dog finds anything, it will still take time to determine who or what the remains belonged to.
Posted 03/20/2009 at 04:39:21 PMIt is hard for me to believe that anyone would take time to bury a body on an island, when all one has to do is take a boat out onto the ocean and dump the body for the fish.
Posted 03/20/2009 at 10:05:20 PMNatalee's mother, Beth Twitty, has worked tirelessly for nearly 4 years to find her daughter and bring justice to her killers. I hope she finally gets some answers. She deserves that much.
Posted 03/21/2009 at 10:25:54 AMAlso I hope there is a life lesson here for young girls. I think seventeen was too young to be going that far on a graduation trip, I would not have let my daughter go, no way. But sadly, the same thing happens here all the time.
The bar scene is just not the answer in looking for "someone special". The bars breed creeps and predators of all kinds. I am sure there have been some successful "hookups", but the odds are very much against it.
And let us not forget that this should also be a good lesson for the guys. Males as well as females need to be cautious in the choices they make. Males should be cautious not to put themselves in a position where they could end up being accused of rape and/or murder. Joran and the other past suspects have put themselves in a position to be accused of horrid acts. If he/they are guilty I hope they pay. If they are innocent, it should be a lesson to all males, as well, as to what can happen when you make unwise choices about the position in which you put yourself.
Posted 03/22/2009 at 02:44:47 AMI am both glad and sadden to hear about this news. If in fact they have found her body we are blessed to know that her family can properly lay her body to rest and that they will have some kind of closure. We pray that justice will be brought in this case and that the killer (s) won't get away. I have been praying for Natalee every since this news broke in "05" and have been asking other ministries to continue praying for her until justice has been served and Natalee is brought back home to her family one way or the other. I am saddened to think that she can indeed be dead. My prayers are continually with her family, friends and local community and all that was affected by this awful tragedy.

Some years ago there was a special on 60 minutes about "diplomatic immunity". I had never heard of the concept. It seems many crimes have been committed by foreign diplomats and family members and many of them go unpunished because of the diplomatic immunity laws. This is an outrage. This Joran creep was treated with kid gloves because of who his daddy was. If he had been some local street thug it would have been a different story entirely. These foreign diplomats and their punk kids have gotten away with this stuff for decades. Do you think you, as an American citizen without diplomatic credentials, could go to a foreign country, rape and murder, and get away with it? You'd be thrown in the dungeon for sure. You would be punished and sentenced by THEIR rules of justice, not ours. Enough!
Posted 03/22/2009 at 04:47:13 PMNatalee was a sensible, level-headed woman who had traveled to Europe and Canada as well as having had prior trips to Aruba. Nothing was unwise in either her actions or her parents actions. She was far more sober than most of the girls at the bar that night. She was unlucky. I'm sure most of the girls visiting Aruba didn't know how easy it is to get a bartender there to dope a drink.
The girls in Tampa, Fl got lucky. The publicity forced Joran van der Sloot to change his educational plans. Joran innocent? (Laugh track here).
Island doesn't have much soil but has plenty of ocean available. I wonder if she was dead when thrown overboard? We will probably never know for sure. And probably will never know if The Judge knocked off a piece too.
Posted 03/24/2009 at 06:41:37 AMHas anyone thought of making use of well renowned physics and/or Mediums such as Lisa Williams? From what I have seen of her, she is fantastic
I do understand that most people do not believe in them or using these methods, but it has helped in the past and it could help in this case. Nothing else has worked up to date. so what has one got to loose.
Posted 03/26/2009 at 08:10:19 AMFools Gold,
Posted 03/29/2009 at 03:11:14 AMHave to disagree. Natalee was 17 years old. She would not be allowed in a bar anywhere in the United States for 4 more years. I do not understand why or how the chaperones that were with this group of girls could allow them to drink. There is nothing sensible or level headed about young girls just out of high school drinking in bars in a foreign country.
I really hope that they will find some remains of her body so that her family could be sure of what happened. I hope that they charge the guy because he did admit it.
Posted 04/11/2009 at 04:12:06 PMall i want to know is has she been found or not?
Posted 04/14/2009 at 02:19:41 PM14/ april/ 2009
we all are praying for a break in this case. i'm 17 and it's scary that these things happen to people. if those guys get away by decieving the world they can't get away from God. i just watched the "E" special report. it's sickening. God help us.
Posted 04/14/2009 at 09:15:21 PMI don't believe any of these false stories anymore. Start investigating the other side of this drama. Her family, friends, etc, etc. Isn't strange that the whole group that travelled with her to Aruba, left the Island the day she disappeared? Not even one person of the group stayed in Aruba. Everybody was gone !!!!!Posters were made in a unbelievable record of time, a private plane carrying her parents landed in Aruba just a few hours after she disappeared. This is a very hard to believe "wanna be" disappearance. May GOD forgive me if I'm wrong. Investigate the other side. You never know.
Posted 04/16/2009 at 10:01:26 PMFirst of all. What's a girl like Natalee doing in a bar at that time? What was she doing in the Casino earlier that day? Why did she get into a car with a few guys that she never saw before in her life? She was underaged and drinking. Please explain all these points. Isn't it true that she got lost a few times already, back where she lives, before her disappearance? I don't believe in perfect crimes, but it's hard for me to believe that Joran killed her. It seems like there something being hidden. I don't know what exactly, but that's a fact.
Posted 04/18/2009 at 01:09:29 AMI just hope shes found n she could finally b sent free 2 heaven may she rest in peace

Posted 04/20/2009 at 02:06:15 AMIts sad to know such a crime goes unsolved the reason being people of influenced always have the law on their side to cover up the crimes their rich spoil children commits alot of young children is missing in my country and no one cares where they are because its not their children missing my heart goes out to all who lost a love one without a trace
I pray for Natalie's family and contine to hope that they keep investigating her disappearance until they find out everything they need to know. Someone in Aruba has to know something. Aruba is not painting a pretty picture for their tourism. I am sure a lot of people are skeptical about vacationing in a place that didn't do everthing they could to help Natalie's family or to help find Natalie during the most crucical hours. Instead the Aruba police department covered up information and told lies to protect themselves.
Posted 04/20/2009 at 09:22:32 PMIf Natalee mom really want to know what happened to her lil girl, all the time she spent with news reporters and so on why soesn't she just visit ms. Silvia Brown she can tell her exactly what happened and where is her body located. I hope that the family finds peace cause i have a lil girl and i will go to the end of the world to find my other half of my heart
Posted 04/21/2009 at 02:30:03 PMThis is one of the saddest stories ive seen. I pray so much for her to be found and for her family to find peace. This is so unfortunate that these things happen still to this day. I am scared for my siblings and other young people. What is this world coming to? I am so scared for my younger sister especially. I wil not let my kids in the future go on trips this far away without me or my husband around. The worlds a dangerous place. Cant trust anyone.
God Bless
Posted 04/22/2009 at 02:00:51 PMI heard about this case awhile ago, and really didn't pay to much attention to it until I saw the movie.
Posted 04/28/2009 at 03:24:14 AMBut first of all I would like to say that, I think the people watching the kids on this trip should have been a little more reponsible. I don't think that they should have been allowed to drink in the first place even if it wasn't illegal there, and they do portray Natalee as being very responsible, but from what I've seen in the movie, nothing that she have done up until that moment she dissapeared was responsible, she kind of had gotten herself into that situation, I mean it is sad the outcome, and I also pray for her family, I hope they do find the real truth to this story or her safe and sound for that matter. But I also think if there was a little more order. Natalee would be with her family now. No 16,17 or 18 year old should be out partying and drinking in a unfamiliar place or any place period, or taking off with strangers.. But the fact of the matter is Natalee should have been a lil more responsible, as well as every one else in this case.. and I hope they do get justice for what has happened to her.. it seems like there's something more that should have or could have been done in this case....
Posted 05/01/2009 at 11:17:20 AMI hope Natalee is ok and may her mom find her and come back home safely to her family. May she be careful next time where ever she goes out on a vacation! May god forgive Natalee when or if she comes home to her family. I am sad that she is lost now! God bless the family that they are looking for her. we all miss her very much! We wish it never happened to her the guys are creeps! Never get into cars with strangers. I got taught that from my parents please listen to your famiy! God Bless everyone! Take care of your family and children they need you mom and dad listen to your children.

Posted 05/05/2009 at 01:47:56 PMThis is why when something is to be confidential...you cant tell even the dog handler the details...jeez!
Posted 06/12/2009 at 04:40:40 PMpuhLEASE. Do you see F16 jets and FBI agents running around looking for anyone but a rich white blonde haired girl (who was partying and on vacation)? Women of color go raped, brutalized, and missing on a DAILY basis... this sucks what happened to this young woman, but it happens constantly and everyday to women all over the world. It's not true that you can't trust strangers... it is true, however, that you shouldn't trust men, who commit 99% of the world's violence against themselves and women.
Posted 07/11/2009 at 09:00:33 PMMy heart goes out to her mother and family. Natalie was young and young people tend to trust people especially if nothing negative has happened to them in the past. She had travelled to Aruba previously. I believe they should have check the oceans. This gentlemen must have taken her out to a smaller island. I just feel this in my heart. I have never been to aruba but he could have left her in someone else's hands. I wonder if his father had a boat or employees that may have taken him to another small island nearby.
If her body never washed up ashore or found in the island then maybe she is alive somewhere else. I would just follow him. He may have fallen over heels for her and kept her. Only God knows but I would search around him somehow, keep an eye on him why would he hurt her. If anything he would probably not want her to leave but not hurt her. She was too beautiful.
Posted 07/13/2009 at 09:38:59 PMI have a real silly question, how old do you have to be to drink in Aruba? In the movie Natalee is 17 why is she drinking in a bar? don't they card people and where are the chaperones? Its pretty strange and did her parents allow her to drink? Its still a very bad thing that has happend to natalee but all this drinking in public with out anyone around is problems and asking for trouble.
Posted 07/13/2009 at 11:46:56 PMTerese;
There is no such thing as a dunb question if you don't know and want answers.
In places like Aruba there is no age limits for drinking. If they are there and standing up they can order a drink.
Asking questions in any place can get one in trouble. With as much hipe as this sad saga has gotten I am sure that a lot of people still have questions about some things.
Even having airplanes at their disposal it would still be hard to get on or off that island without someone knowing about it. That would be the first question I would ask. Who flew a private plan in and out of Aruba during this critical time frame?
Something else I would like to know is how did Beth and Jug get together in the first place? She moved her children from MS lock stock and barrell to AL practically overnight. Another question would be how she got a job so fast here.
I am always concerned about my idenity and whereabouts. Especially if you used to deliver milk to homes right in the middle of this sad saga. I don't mind my E-mail address because I have three on this one account. Its the sir name being posted which worries me. With several thousand people with the same name all over it is still a funny feeling one gets when they see their name plastered all over the place. Posted by Bootblacks doesn't bother me because that is the name AOL gave me!
What does HTML stand for too?
Posted 07/19/2009 at 09:22:27 PMNo one deserves what happened to Natalie. However,it has also been said on more than one occasion, by more than in person, in more than one venue that Natalie was a bit of a wild child and had gotten into trouble long before the Aruba trip happened. If that's true,it could explain some things. I find it hard to believe that somebody who took to the party scene like Natalie did and had strange men/boys drinking jello shots from her belly button was as innocent as some are atempting to portray her. I think that Natalie was probably more "bad girl" than anyone is ever going to admit and asking her parents and family won't do any good - Mom and Dad are always the last to know. There's also something about Beth that just doesn't ring true to me. Whatever the details turn out to be, no one deserves what we are all sure must have happened to Natalie and,if for no other reason than to relieve the torment of wondering, I hope that someone finds out what happened to her.
Posted 07/23/2009 at 12:04:20 PMI'm in Aruba now and as soon as I got out of airport this story came to mind. It has made me cautious of to not leave my girl alone. I think that this is just one of the sadess stories and that this poor girls family should be left alone. Aruba is not bad island everyone is actually very nice. This case was a screw up from the begining noone knows about crime here. Rip Natalie.
Posted 09/24/2009 at 07:34:56 AMMy sister whent on the trip with natalie and she retuned in tears she couldnt sleep for 2 months we finally found out when we heard about natalie, she was so ill and depressed she was put in a medical center for attention prior to ours.
Posted 10/09/2009 at 06:41:18 PMThere is one place on the island that hasn't been searched. It's not supposed to be touched, ever. A very reliable clairvoyant told me Natalee "is where it's very dry, and there are a lot of squares", and flat areas. What does this sound like? The cemetary. I am willing to be she is in one of those slabs.
Posted 10/17/2009 at 10:25:57 PMThis unfortunate case, to me, sounds like it could have been solved years ago. If a girl goes missing and is reported so the next day, and the island is fairly small, it shouldn't take much more than a few days, at most, to find her. If you can't find her inland, than she's had to of been thrown in the water; common sense. If someone threw her into the water, it was obviously dumped far away. This case is sad, Natalee may never even have died before ditched into the ocean. And this bull shit about cocain overdose; how can you presume that if there's no body? Let's bring closure to Natalee's family.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 08:34:07 PMseems to me that aruba should have immediately invited our "f b i" to lead the investigation. time is so critical on a crime such as this. even so , if aruba were to refuse , then the american embassy should have notified aruba of an embargo on all flights to and from aruba. not sure if this is legal , yet i am certain that 90% of the american public knows that vander sloot slipped a drug into her drink , and i am thinking that while in a sex act natalee died. the government should have felt extreme pressure from our government , and why bush did not act , who knows???
Posted 10/24/2009 at 08:25:32 PMI hope they find her she was a pretty girl I hope they find her safe and alive.
Posted 11/18/2009 at 10:59:24 PMI truly believe this demon named joran is responsible for what happened to Holloway. I also believe Beth had every right to search for her daughter as hard as she felt necessary. I was shocked at how these lazy arubians treated her with such disrespect and NO COMPASSION!!! jorans father needs to be sentenced right along with his spawn...what an evil pair these sob's are. Justice will be served , one way or another.

Posted 01/17/2010 at 11:16:31 PMI agree with "Native Texan"! There is a reason why there are age drinking laws in the US. She was clearly making all the major mistakes and so where the friends or adults who were with her and allowing her to leave with this young man. One rule is to NOT let your impaired friend leave the bar with some one she just met! (I don't care if he is hot, young rich nice smart funny harmless looking! Also, you can mug down at the bar!
She made numerous bad decisions BUT SHE DID NOT DESERVE WHAT HAPPENED TO HER or her family (especially her mother!) Some of you out there think "that's what she gets". Well it doesn't end there,if that's the case, then to the f*cked up person or people, you will get yours too! What they did was wrong and you know what they say, the dead are waiting for you to die...
Posted 02/21/2010 at 05:01:27 AMToday there was a show on tv on the dutch television with a nother confession of Joran. This time he sais that after the when out he wanted to walk natalee to here hotel. but the ren into a friend of Joran and the go the the appartement of this friend.

Posted 03/20/2010 at 01:07:16 AMI have to agree with LittlMo on this one. The case is not unlike a dozen or so that happen every year with kids getting killed while doing drugs, drink and lots of wild sex on spring break outside the country (usually Mexico). The main difference here is that the bodies are usually not missing. But their deaths are no less tragic - or preventable.
What is unique and troubling about this story is the response to it. The U.S. military, the FBI, private search teams from the U.S. - all that and more went down there for months to turn over every rock, drain every pond, trawl the ocean, harass local officials and point fingers at "suspects." Who would have believed it if it weren't true?
I get the impression they'd rather hunt for Natalee than Osama.
Posted 03/22/2010 at 09:29:45 PMI hope those remains are those of Natalie, to bring closure to her family. I also want to see Joran and anyone else involved in this crime to pay. You can be sure there was a crime against this girl.
Posted 03/23/2010 at 09:14:35 AMI have been teaching for a number of years, and never allowed my children to go on trips far from home. Where were the chaperons? If they had been doing their job, none of this would have ever happened. This is not Natalie's fault and certainly not her parents. They trusted the adults that went on the trip to care for all those students.
If I were a senior that just graduated, and you could drink in a bar and have fun, sure why not.....It was up to the adults to supervise what and how much of what went on. WHERE WERE THEY? You don't hear anything about that. I pray that for Natalie's family, closure comes to this case. They have fought long and hard for their daughter. As far as people that go online and say stupid things, like how it was Natalie's fault. Well, you just can't over come ignorance or the fact we live in a world with a lot of uneducated people.
May God be with her mother
Posted 03/26/2010 at 10:36:18 PM22 year old female ....all i have to say is that you guys need to see the bigger pic... This was a young girl she was young minded. if a person had strict rules there whole life, it may mean that when they get lead way and go on vacation to a different state there going to go a little crazy, all young people like to enjoy their youth,,,im sure you all remember being young and having fun. the main point in this case is this bastard that was last with her. took advantage of the youth in this girl and went with what he had. weather she id dead or trafficed this guy needs ti be punished for even being involved in her missing.. everyone needs ti stop pointing fingers at parents and so called kid sidders in aruba and blame the s.o.b who knows where she is and is not telling a soul... in my eyes he needs to be charged with death penalty.... Karma will come to this guy 5 years off i hope he enjoyed cuz now he will pay for actions and one day meet his maker!!!
Posted 03/27/2010 at 12:39:11 AMYou said it all " Heather" God will see that he pays for his actions as he knows what happened to her. Yes I think the chaperons should also get a punished for not during there job. They were in charge of this group of kids. It was not Natalie's fault that guy was into drugs & i think he drugged her, Karma will come around & see that he pays !!
Posted 03/29/2010 at 06:35:42 PMAruba is a bad place to visit - Don't anyone go there the way Beth was treated was unjustifiable. Everyone should of helped her instead of mistreating her. Aruba has a bad name now- i would never go there. I hope Joran meets his maker soon!!
hey in 14 from sentinel school and i just cant belive that someone would go and di that to a pretty girl like natalee holoway????? I pray for here parents everday and i just cant belive wat here familys gonig through so i really miss here and i hope god bless all here family and NATALEE HOLAWAY :)
Posted 04/20/2010 at 10:44:38 AMThis girl is portrayed in the show entitled "Natalee Holloway" as a sweet, innocent country girl who NEVER did anything wrong. I'm sorry, I just don't see it that way. If she were such a straight walker, what in the world was she doing drinking to the point of drunkenness, and getting into the car with strange men? I am in no way saying that she deserved whatever happened to her, I'm only saying that she placed herself in harm's way.
Posted 06/05/2010 at 06:52:34 PMI hope they did find her remains. It breaks my heart to know this innocent girl had her life snatched away so quickly and this monster is basically getting off the hook for it. It really pisses me off that people are actually sticking up for him and are covering for him. I can't stand the fact that this monster has lied so much about what really happened. We can obviously tell that he is guilty. I know the Holloway family do not want pitty, but my heart goes out to them. I can't imagine what really happened. She is in Gods' hands now. Just hearing about this makes me want to go out and help so that this does'nt happen to anybody else.
