The Fayetteville Observer has reported a 7th death in this morning's nursing home shooting in Carthage, NC.

Police have confirmed to WTVD in Raleigh, NC that 6 people were killed in the shooting this morning in the Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Center. Three others were injured. Carthage Police Chief Chris McKenzie described the shooter as an "adult male" who was not a patient at Pinelake.

At least six people have been hospitalized after a shooting this morning inside a North Carolina nursing home. Shots rang out around 10 a.m. inside the Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage, North Carolina. WRAL TV reports that the facility "serves as rehabilitation, nursing and Alzheimer's care unit." The TV station also reported that 6 people were dead and one injured. The Associated Press report on the shooting simply states that a spokesperson at Moore Regional Hospital, where the victims were taken would not give any details about the victims' injuries or conditions. Moore County (NC) Deputy Director of Emergency Management Scot Brooks told the Charlotte Observer that a person was in custody in connection with the shooting. This post may be updated and revised as further details become available.
Another (probable) domestic assault, and of course, he took out those who had NOTHING to do with him, and were the most vulnerable of our society. These angry, pieces of shit are really starting to annoy me.

...maybe John Shirley was on to something with his idea about the 'Akishra' causing us to do terrible and self-destructive things in order to feed off the psychic dismay that results. Hell, it makes as much sense as anything else does these days.

What is it about early spring? Most of the mass murders have taken place at this time of year: Columbine, Waco, Oklahoma City, Virgina Tech. Seasonal Affective Disorder is supposed to occur in December!
