[Jaycee Lee] Dugard was last seen walking to her school bus stop on Washoan Boulevard in her hometown of South Lake Tahoe, California on June 10, 1991. A gray two-tone 1980 mid-sized Ford or Mercury sedan, possibly a Ford Grenada, Mercury Monarch or Mercury Zephyr, made a u-turn on the street where Dugard was walking between 8:05 and 8:15 a.m. An unidentified man and woman were inside the vehicle. The woman grabbed Dugard and forced her inside the car, then the vehicle sped from the scene.

CONCORD, Calif. -- A young woman walked into the Antioch Police station and announced that she was Jaycee Lee Dugard - the girl who was snatched by an abductor from a Lake Tahoe area school bus stop in 1991.
That's right. It may be that 18 years after her dramatic disappearance, Jaycee Lee Dugard has resurfaced, alive and physically well, in California.
Shawn Hornbeck was missing for nearly 5 years before he was rescued from the clutches of a predatory pedophile named Michael Devlin. Hornbeck's story galvanized the country in January 2007, and created controversy: many wondered how Hornbeck could simply go along with Devlin for all that time and not make some attempt at escape.
If the woman who walked into the Antioch Police station is truly Jaycee Lee Dugard, her tale may soon eclipse Hornbeck's and could be a replay of the tragic story of Sharon Marshall, perhaps with a happier ending. Marshall died without anyone ever learning her real name. You can read about her abduction by Franklin Floyd in Matt Birkbeck's well-written account of the case, A Beautiful Child.
As it stands now, Dugard's mother and stepfather believe the woman is their daughter. Stepdad Carl Probyn said the following to KTVU: "They put her (the woman) on the phone. My wife talked with her and is convinced she is Jaycee. Jaycee remembers everything."
Local police and the FBI have stated that they believe they have the persons responsible for Dugard's abduction in custody. They have yet to name the suspects, but The Charley Project gives a list of past persons-of-interest in the Dugard abduction:
* James Anthony Daveggio and former girlfriend Michelle Michaud - the couple was convicted of raping and killing another girl and according to Charley Project, they are awaiting execution. Michaud is said to fit the description of the female suspect who abducted Jaycee Dugard in 1991.
* Stephen Kiesle - Kiesle, a former priest, became a suspect just 7 years ago, but police were unable to connect him to the abduction.
* Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee - Yep, that's right; the same couple charged with abducting Elizabeth Smart from her Salt Lake City home in 2002.

It seems the perp had some kind of religious awakening and turned into a revival tent preacher and walked into the police station WITH the girl (and his wife) to ask some kind of question of the authorities that set off their Nutcase alarm. They did a background check, discovered he was a registered sex offender!!! I suspect that's when they separated the girl from him and she was finally free to tell them who she was was. Reports have this ass-hat living with several other young girls. This is going to make the 'Devo' Devlin thing look like small potatoes.
Posted 08/27/2009 at 04:27:04 PMWebsleuths is reporting that an Italian publication stated the name Jaycee lived under was Patricia Garrido -- and that possibly she has a FB page. In addition they are reporting that possibly she has two children.
Steve have you found anything on the possibility of children?
Posted 08/27/2009 at 05:02:31 PMPatricia Garrido is listed in Intellius as being 88 yrs old and related to both Phillip and Nancy Garrido - very likely his mother. However - there is a Stephanie Garrido also listed in Anioch where they all lived on Walnut Ave who is 30 yrs old (Intellius has been known to be off a year or so depending on the records they pull). There is a Stephanie Garrido and a J Garrido listed to the same address on Addresses.com website. It's an apartment in CA. It's possible she went under both her real first name and an alias. No matter - the truth will come out soon enough. It's just wonderful she's free. Now the hard healing begins...
Posted 08/27/2009 at 05:19:05 PMWhy does no one note that it is insane that such half ass police work was done on ALL of these cases!!!??? It was noted that there were a few calls to police dept. to report suspicious behavior at the house over the years, tents? undocumented children reported at the home etc. etc. how hard should it be to get a search warrant with these extreme reports and of a convicted rapist!! wow, what a slimy area that section of town must be that that kind of thing can go on for 18years under the nose of inept law enforcement!!!what are police too busy giving out their quota of parking tickets there??!!! What more can neighbors do to try and protect themselves but trust that their reports like this are followed up on??! Who knows, maybe police were covering it up, were friends with the guy?!

I have read way too many cases like this where there was even the registered sex offender living exactly by where a child went missing and WASN'T EVEN INVESTIGATED!!! shouldn't they at least be ONE of the first places that are searched!!
No mercy, I am sorry they would not even see the light of ,day. As a mother of 2 girls , again no mercy .let us moms, at them .prayers and healing to their family mom from south lake tahoe
Posted 08/27/2009 at 07:38:38 PMThis is all so weird but a blessing for sure. And to know even though it was a crime she has her own 11 year old daughter now..Her own parents can in a way get their own daughter back at the same age she was lost. Amazing!
Posted 08/28/2009 at 02:22:54 PMWow im glad she is found. I had just finished reading a book called Rope Burns and the couple in that book were suspects in her kidnapping. You can see the resemblence between the two women with long dark hair and kind of sunken in face. Im glad she is okay!!!!

I felt that they were not apart of this kidnapping because the Micahaud women had confessed to most of the kidnappings and murders but when asked about jaycee her comment was "No I swear to God!" something about that made me think they had nothing to do with it. It is just really sad that all this time the parents have suffered. These people are sick!!!

LE are now looking at him for the series of prostitute murders back in the 90's...their bodies were found near the industrial complex where Philip Girrado worked...This is so eerily similar to Joseph Duncan that I have the chills!

Murder would be the result if I were to expose this and it was ignored. Police and FBI have both ignored this just as in Jaycee's case. I am curious if you are the right outlet to expose this violation of Federal Interstate Stalking, Abuse, Attemted Murder, Fraudulent Conveyance of $500,000,000 Law 18 U S C § 2261A (1)
