[UPDATE] Aimee Louise Sword: Accused of Tracking Down Son She Gave Up and Raping Him

• Ya' know, it's almost worse that she was invited back into his life and she took advantage. That the young boy was not of sound judgment or moral strength should have alarmed her sufficiently to really be strong and exemplary with him. No, instead, she took advantage of an *invitation* and her flesh and blood's incomplete moral content and deficient judgment. It takes a special kind of genetic deformity and disregard for decency to do this to your own child. Every time I hear a predator attempt the "Lolita" defense, I wretch. I want her thrown into a hard labor camp for the rest of her life.

• Dan is right. Hipocrisy is all we listen about incest and in this case much more. She DIDN'T force him. So what? Pedophilie is a crime, but he has 16 yo. If this woman kills him nobody gives more than a line to fact, but they make LOVE. What is more sick: kill him or love him?

• The taboo against incest is discriminatory and denies civil rights to people the same way bans on gay marriage do. How dare you impose your outdated morality on others? With modern birth control there is NO REASON for the absurd taboo on incest.

• She's hot. If she tracked me down, and I was a 17 yr old teenager, and I DIDN'T know that she was my mom, I'd bang her endlessly. That's any healthy 17 year old boy's dream (bangin a hot older lady that is not their mom to be clear here). If there is a chance that he didn't know who she really was, and if he was just as hot for her as she may have been for him (which is definitely twisted on her part), then the boy should have no fault whatsoever for being hot for an older babe, and at the same time would explain his perhaps being highly motivated to bang her, seeing as he would've had no moral qualms, which probably made things even more highly charged. Then again, if he did know, I'd fault him just as much as her, because you're no different at 18 then you are at 17, but for some reason the law says you are. Then there is also room to argue that he doesn't have the wherewithal to make that kind of decision because of all the problems he has, which probably stem in part to having been given up for adoption. The difficult part about that argument is, there are plenty of children given up for adoption, that turn out great. So, this is not as black and white as some of us are making it out to be.

• What I don't understand is how people can simply write-off the effect of being abandoned by your mom when you're 5-years old. Numerous studies have found strong correlations between child abandonment and the subsequent development of life-long personality disorders that can cripple one's chances at having a decent life. I don't know the prevalence of sexual assault on children in the foster care world, but I bet it's many times higher than it is in the general population as a whole. Besides, the mom may have been trying to protect her son from her own dangerous decisions and life choices when she was young. Mad Mike does have a legitimate point (in this case, anyway) questioning the apparent prurient nature of the bias in the media storm that created most of this story. All I can say is God help any of you if people like yourself serve on a jury in which you are the defendant, because it does not look as if you will have any shot at a fair trial.

• The majority of you are idiots. I understand how she can instantly be disliked. (I mean, she did give up her son at the age of 5.) The only reason this story makes headlines is because of you people who jump to conclusions. There are no facts in regards to her raping her son...just one-sided biased reporting in favor of the juvenile. IF she tracked her son down and IF she then raped him... Perhaps the boy made this up and even at the young age of 15 he should understand how completely vile of a lie this would be. It would be lying with the intent to destroy someone else and I'm sure he knows what's in store for his egg donor should she be found guilty. IF this happens to be be a lie...put yourself in her shoes.

• She is innocent until proven guilty, stop passing judgment. The boy was said to be unstable, chances are he is lying about the whole thing.

• The fact that she had sex with a 15 year is illegal & disgusting. The fact that it was her son just makes it worse. Saying the 15 year old was a piece of work and might have caused this is a slap in the face to anyone who has been molested. She is the adult!

• This is just me, but if she legally gave up her rights as a mother, what does it matter if she had sex with him? I can understand if the child was underage, of course. But in a legal stand point, since she is no longer his mother, couldn't she have the right to have sex with him if she wanted?

• Who is to say that she raped this boy? The boy? Could it be because he is angry she threw him away and this was his revenge? How in the hell does someone prove (as a male) that they were raped? I know at this site we try and speculate and figure out the why's to crime, but to blatantly accuse this mother of something so terrible without a shread of evidence is beyond ridiculous. Her judgement was to love him and bring him to meet his siblings. His life was with his. adoptive parents, from infancy. Being adopted does not cause mental, or emotional problems. The social worker, and the parents were all involved with this visit, so don't say she screwed him up, he was in deep trouble before they ever met.

• DHP: Get real. If the facts as you portray them as accurate, the boy was troubled. Does that may the mom's conduct any less heinous? No. She took a troubled child (who troubles may originate in part from his initial separation from his mother) and compounded his confusion and troubles by sleeping with her own son! Birth abandonment has the potential to screw up any child. Pedophilia will definitely screw up any child. Incest with a child will totally screw up any child. She's hit this poor boy with all three, in his short 15 years... This woman keeps screwing over this boy, figuratively and literally. Any efforts to blame the boy here is SHAMEFUL.

• She gave him up at birth and it was an open adoption, with her picking the parents. None of the articles have the facts, they've just reported a half assed story.They have exchanged letters and pictures all his life, and they were brought together with the knowledge and ok of the adoptive mother and social worker. People need to pray for Aimee, and her other children who have now been taken from her, and are suffering. Mostly pray for this troubled boy who has so many problems, people can't even imagine what a troubled 16 year old he is.

• Truth be told, I'm not sure what to make of what her friends are saying. We really need a whole lot more information to make a judgment. But I just wanted to pass this along for your consideration.

• Let's give Pete the benefit of the doubt. If the child has a history of emotional issues, the "rape" accusation may be unfounded, in which case the child would be partly responsible for the current situation.

• A 15 year old boy was a 'piece of work' according to unnamed sources, and "... may have been partially responsible for the current situation." Were this a 15 year old girl who had been dumped by her bio father at the age of 5, then, after the father tracked her down a decade later and Raped her, would anyone print or take at all seriously the accusation above? This woman is a freak. That the poor boy had her for a mother and was raised by her for a period of years has a lot (if not everything) to do with the fact that today he's a 'piece of work'. I do like TCR and will give you a break on this, but... it is wrong to make this accusation. Just as it's wrong to rape kids - be they girls or boys. Children should not be considered in Any Way responsible for the foul acts and advantages taken by adults.

• Irregardless of the circumstances, she is a pedophile, and should be charged as one. Most children who know they are adopted usually have a few emotional issues. This one might take the top of his list.

• It's definitely twisted, IF true. But it remains to be seen if it's true. You can't put much stock in news reporters... and police only tell you what they want to tell you. We'll see. I hope it's not true for the young boy's sake.

• Her myspace page has been taken down. This is absolutely disgusting. There are so many questions. Did the boy know it was his mother? If not, who found out that she had done this? Why did she give him up for adoption in the first place?

• This doesn't change how disgusting this story is but I don't think her son is 10 years old as you've mentioned. I believe she only gave him up for adoption 10 years ago. The news articles about this story keep saying that he is a teenager so that could mean he is anywhere between 13 and 17 years old not 10.
