See our updated story:
Aimee Louise Sword Pleads Guilty, Gets 9 Years in Prison.
This story isn't for the squeamish. Aimee Louise Sword, a 35-year-old woman from Waterford Township, Michigan, gave birth to a son 15 years ago. But she couldn't handle motherhood, so she gave him up for adoption five years later.
Now she's accused of tracking him down on the internet and having sex with him. The boy, who's still a minor, hasn't been named. Prosecutors won't say if he knew the woman was his mother.
On her MySpace page, where she goes by the name Aimee Pope, Sword implies she's standing strong in the face of adversity. Her mood is described as strong, "az alway." And she quotes at length from Alicia Keys' song "Superwoman..."
UPDATE: New reports indicate that Aimee Sword didn't track down her son at all. Though none of this is confirmed, friends say she was asked by a social worker to get back involved with the kid's life because he was having some kind of trouble. Friends also say the boy, now 15, was a piece of work in his own right, and may have been partially responsible for the current situation.
Who knows if any of this is true, but we'll keep you posted as the case develops. Sword's supposed to make and appearance in court next week.
