Comment of the Day: Don't Blame Annie Le's Cleavage

• Ok. I dare blame victims of murder . I do. But while I do, I am smart enough to understand that SIMPLE fact that pointing out the fact that appearances and behaviors, while harmless when interacting with your average human being , may CONTRIBUTE, innocently, to you becoming a target. How the FCK does CONTRIBUTE equal BLAME OR DESERVE? People who make this argue are so effin stupid, its mind boggling. Grow the F up.

• it looks like the current murder suspect (mr. clark) had a sick asian fetish. He was part of the asian american club in high school but is clearly not even asian.

• By most standards, this photo is fairly tame. If she had appeared naked it would not be justification for murder.

• @a.reader -- if only dressing conservatively for your own safety actually worked. doing so is no guarantee that some sick individual won't want to see what's under the clothing. sexualisation can occur solely in the viewer's head. or, consider this: maybe the motive isn't always sex. you can dress conservatively, but you can still be targeted randomly. the point isn't the clothing, it's that this could potentially happen to anyone. people try to read too much into it sometimes, and those that argue otherwise get labelled.

• Annie Le has not persished in vain. The feminist wilderbeasts have cannabalized her for their cause. This girl miht have had the right to dress how she feels in an existentialist type of universe, but not everybody here is playing by the same rules. Let's face it, these things happen in Western countries quite often. There are a lot of confused people in a society that shames sex and uses it to sell -- all in the same breath. if I were an attractive young woman, I wouldn't listen to these wilderbeasts. I would dress conservatively for my own safety.

• I studied at Yale - and I'll admit, I never really felt safe there. Just because it's Yale means nothing, the area is a little higher in crimes against people than some other campuses. But in defense of Yale - there no really safe campus anywhere. Annie Le didn't do anything wrong. She could walk down the street in thigh boots and a thong bikini - but that is no reason for some sick person to murder her and stuff her into a utility space. Not to be morbid ... but it'll probably be some stalker who had a thing for her and got jealous. These things always seem to turn out this way. Is it me - or is society getting sicker and more twisted with each passing day? What ever happened to people leaving other people alone?!

• I don't know, Velouria, isn't debate a wonderful thing, even if you disagree with it?

• Some people disgust me when they make ridiculous comments about a victim setting them selves up for a abduction or a sexual attack or a murder, based on what they wear...GROW UP..I would hope to think that a man can AND SHOULD be expected to control his body parts (I could be more graphic here but I will leave it at 'body parts') and not murder a person because she wore a tank top or showed some cleavage. How dare anyone blame a victim of causing their own murder because of what they wore..shame on any of you for thinking that way.

• Well-put, Dani. Also, these photos of her dressed up (and looking very nice, too--not in any danger of falling out of her top at all) are most likely taken at social events attended with her fiance or family members, and <i>not</i> at school or work. She wore a white lab coat while at the lab, and all comments about her from acquaintances suggest that she was a professional young woman that knew what was appropriate. If someone was stalking her and saw her dressed up and looking very nice, that is clearly an issue with the stalker, not with her.

• Ya know Pete, I understand where you're coming from with these "Quotes of the Day", but really, you're just feeding the trolls a five-course meal.
