Comment of the Day: Teacher Ashley Jo Beach Shouldn't Have Had Sex With That Boy
| Beach, 37, also had sex with the boy at school |
"For those of you who think this is ok are absolutely crazy! My jaw completely dropped when i heard this news. She was my teacher and i have known her for years. Its just scary to know that you never really do know anyone. I'm just baffled that ANYONE could do that with a child, especially her being a mother of three! Its sick.
"The boy is 13 for goodness sake and shouldn't even have engaged in that sort of interaction with a woman of her age or of any age! Kids should be kids as long as they can because you can never get your innocence back. No child whether they be a boy or girl should be in that position and no adult should ever even consider it."

j, I couldn't agree with you more. There's no lack of older cheating sluts male and female and if people put some effort into it, I'm sure one could find a good looking one (obviously, there are mentally screwed up people all over the place!!) These people who pick children - there is something wrong with them.

A very obvious parallel can be suggested though, in a case of say, a 21 year old guy and a 13 year old girl. He might be extremely physically appealing to her, might court her the way a legit boyfriend would/should, and yet, still be completely aware that what he is doing is not only immoral, but illegal. And she could very easily believe she was in love with him, see it as totally consentual, not believe she was traumatized in the least, and it falls upon her parents to decide whether or not to press charges. Teachers can be 22 or 72, so it's all relative, but the guilt should be viewed the same, I think, whether it be a boy or girl. The bottomline is, it's easy to find a dating pool for oneself that is legal, so people just need to stop making excuses for those who can't manage to get laid without resorting to predation. I'm referring to others, though, not you, Jane.

j, I think the difference in the way people view male vs. female pedophiles is in the way it's done. Women usually manipulate the boys (a woman cannot usually just attack a man and rape them) and the men tend to just rape the kids so it's a lot more traumatic and decidedly unwilling. But the problem is that this is this kid's first experience and I know a lot of guys who continuously set themselves up in numerous relationships with women many years older than them and then just destroy the marriage by there own actions in a couple of years and then complain about the woman. Then do it again. People on the outside can see it coming 20/20 but to this guy, each relationship is new. I think this woman set him up for many years of troubled relationships and a huge paranoid distrust of women, adults, and other people in general.
-
I meant "terrible" revenge in the sense that it is kind of petty, weak, and...well, it backfired on him anyway. It's kinda like challenging her to have sexual relationship with guards or something. Like, "you think you're hot shit for hooking up with a teenager? Look at what I can do with the women in your very situation!" Very weird.
-
That is ironic, agreed. That's pretty terrible revenge, huh? I think I had heard about that but didn't connect it with this case. I might also be able to agree that if she was forced to fulfill a full 20 year sentence, in this case it would be harsh. On the other hand, if Scrappy is from...say, the Netherlands, certain European countries have notoriously horrible records of being to lenient on pedophiles. I will admit to seeing the difference in severity between an adult woman and an adult male doing this to a 13 year old. Intuitively, as someone who had a healthy libido by that age, I have to acknowledge that it isn't traumatizing in a lot of cases for a boy to be seduced by an older woman. But while they will be the first to brag about it, it defintely is likely to impact future relationships in a way that they ought to be sheltered from rather than shrugging it off as "he got lucky." It wouldn't surprise me if it has a negative affect, even if we wouldn't go so far as calling it "traumatized." Regardless, I have to be purist about the fact that it needs to be judged as wrong the same way across the board or society will never progress. Either way, they are still taking advantage of a person who can't consent in the same sense an adult can. What's weird is how much worse it seems to be if it's a grown male seducing a boy, or when the women is beyond the age where a teenager is likely to be attracted so much as manipulated. There have been a couple cases recently I saw on theweeklyvice.com where the women have been so haggard it was really gross that any boy could be tempted. One thing I can't deny does fascinate me, though, about the majority of the recent cases is how insanely desireable a lot of the women would be to a ton of adult men. It's uncanny, and makes me wonder how much more women abusing teenagers was suppressed before the 90s, which is the only time I recall starting to see it first come to light.

j, Sooorry, I'm not trying to rub it in, I just thought that was so funny he was jail staff but I think neither her nor her husband are too hefty in the brains department.
-
I read the story on another site and that answered some questions. Her husband has been arrested since then for taking nude pictures of female inmates in jail and sending them to her as revenge. He was corrections staff at a jail (right back at ya j, I got to laugh at the timing on this...maybe they grew apart since she could read and write and he seems to be certainly not carrying a heavy load in the IQ department.) But she was given 20 years WITH possibility of parole in 4 years so it wasn't all that bad. But that's a normal sentence for rape. That's very medium, it's not hardcore. They can also get for each count if she did it more than once so she's probably lucky.
-
20 Years is waaaay to hard !! If the teacher would have lost her job and if you just made it public what the person did, or perhaps 3 years at the max on probation under certain conditions, it would have ruind her life anyway. 20 Years is like giving her the death penalty. I really dont understand. You americans are nuts. I´m ashamed to be on ! This is just not right.
-
...the sexual addiction analogy mentioned above, I meant.
-
To understand this, the first thing you should process is this is not a healthy attraction to begin with. People don't develop attractions to people who are that vastly inferior to them intellectually/maturity wise, and often physically underdeveloped. The attraction is to someone they can dominate, control, etc. They have a perversion that we shouldn't expect to understand within the constructs of our normal, equilateral relationships. They either started out with a fetish for a very specific age range, or it developed and they allowed themselves to succumb to a temptation they knew was completely abnormal and sure to wreck their lives. I tend to think mentally healthy people don't gradually start to see erotic appeal in childishness that others might find merely "cute" or innocently endearing. To not realize you need help and a career change before it gets out of hand, that is impulsive to the point where the sex addiction seems appropriate. Of course they could have normal relationships - almost every female teacher in the news this past decade could have had that with their husbands. They probably are usually in miserable relationships, or perceive them that way. This is hardcore self-esteem issues where they need someone to almost worship them rather than a basic attraction.

At least the teachers who get caught for this usually have horrified looks of their own guilt in their mugshots. Some of the scariest pedophiles, it seems they show no remorse. The most disturbing thing is to see a smirk in a mugshot. Freaky! Anyway, a 13 year old boy can decide to have sex, but it isn't legal consent, and it shouldn't be. The other thing I think men tend to overlook about this - as much as a lot of us probably have a remnant fantasy about some teacher we would have been overjoyed by letting us go there - pedophilia commited by teachers is even worse than some freaky middle aged woman seducing a neighbor. They are abusing their authority and causing a total breakdown of trust and ethics in their profession!
-
The adult was wrong. The "victim" kept coming back for more. It stopped when they got caught. He could have kept his distance but he didn't. Gender does not matter in such cases. Thirteen years old girls know it is wrong to climb out of their window and into the window of an adult male but we know who gets all of the blame. These kids know the laws and how to use being a minor. From this incident he has learned that personal responsibility is not required. As a parent I would expect my child to learn that no matter what authorities say this game of doing wrong and then pointing a finger at someone else will not be tolerated. How else will these kids learn?

This just blows my mind time after time seeing this stuff. Especially a woman. There are plenty of young guys who are OVER 18 (13?!?!) who would be more than happy to get free sex..look at the guy in other story doing horses. If these two would have gotten together before they broke the law, they could be spending New year's at home instead of jail. The cops should invent a dating service matching animal rapists up with married teachers who want to cheat. God, the crime rates would drop significantly.
-
Err... it's a tragedy that this woman should go to prison.

Btw Paulo...which planet are you from?!! Can you hear yourself speak?! A 13 year old is not mature! maybe physically he has reached puberty but his brains arent qualified to make wise decisions. Another thing you have children? imagine your daughter coming back home to you and saying "Daddy Daddy! Im in love with my teacher! He finds me attractive and we make love everyday and night! Hope you can understand he is the one for me Daddy!". Imagine she tell you that? what would you do? Have a party for her? Wouldnt you call Amnesty International for this "poor" man? dont be a fool Paulo whatever your name is! Your attitude is filled with blindness!

Well another teacher gets busted. Its good she got 20 years because a male teacher would have got something like taht too had he been caught. She was soo stupid to even contemplate such an action. Makes me think why such people are teachers in first place. There needs to be some sort of measure to make sure teachers be they male or female DO NOT get involved with their students. The fact she got involved with a 13 year old pupil is sickening and she is no doubt a big disgrace to everyone. Im glad she is behind bars and she is crying because she didnt ruin herself..she ruined her family and her kids. Happy New Year Ashley Jo Beech! lol. Btw if she attempts to make a movie or a tv deal like that Mary-kay Letourneau...who thinks of herself as being righteous and didnt feel anything was wrong by having sexual relations with a 13 year old, she has another thing coming! Mary-Kay was stupid to do that, and alot of the public were even more stupid to believe in her crocodile tears!
-
Paulo, Where is determined that males are fully mature at any age? And they know what they want? Are you writing in from another planet?
-
A boy of 13 is fully matured sexually and knows exactly what he wants! For marital questions you go to a marital counsellor, you don't get thrown in jail for 20 years!!! -Are you completely out of your minds? You are thinking like Al-Quaeda!!! This was a religious trial. I have requested, from Amnesty International, help for this poor woman. You have completely lost your discernment capacity!

interesting. sex is what sex does. it is one of the most compelling of our natures gifts. like liquor, and drugs, one can be addicted to sex, and forgo forget and fork over all for the sake of the gratification. i understand mrs. beech's plight, i feel badly for her. i feel badly for the kid, and all the families in school and surounding this situation. she is indeed a sick lady with a monkey on her back, why else risk all for a trist in the friggin bushes for god's sake. not even the back seat of a car, she couldn't wait? i agree witht he judge, but having said that, a sickness won't get well in prison, she should do some time, and should have the opportunity to make a mea culpa in public with public service work with other teachers, adults and convicted folks who have violated this golden rule. lets kids be kids, take your sex addiction out on yourself. thank you and happy new 2010 to all bobby c

What she did is disgusting… what is appalling is that she only got 4 years. Really? 4? Unreal!
-
She was my 6th grade teacher, and i was totally appauled by this. I couldnt believe that such anice person that i thought had a kind heart, and decent morals in life would do such a thing. So upsetting.
-
Check out her Facebook page, at least half of her 250 friends - students.

i have 'breaking news' emailed to me daily from one of our local news stations, when her mugshot popped up, my stomach turned.... when my daughter whom was one of ms. beech's students just last year, got home, i asked her if there was anything in which she would like to talk about... she didnt so i knew she did not know.... so i showed her the article.... in april my daughter got in to trouble and ms. beech of all people was the one who was telling my daughter that she did not want to go down the wrong path... and that this year we had clean slates, and we cant be making the same mistakes as last year..... wow!!!! my daughter is so angry with ms. beech, being that she was someone she looked up to, and trusted.... im sickened that she could portray herself as an authoritive figure and go and do this..... she didnt just affect this little boy... she also hurt my daughter in the sense that now, who does she trust?....my daughter even said it.... how can she do this mommy?... she was very upset.. and still is.. she said mommy i feel like crying... so i told her cry.... i think the school should offer counseling to the students...
