Reader Deb provides her take on "Terminally Ill Manson Family Member is Up for Parole Today," arguing that Susan Atkins, who has brain cancer, should be released from prison:
"I may be in the minority here, but I think they should just grant her parole. Yes, the crimes she committed as a young teen were heinous, but she is dying, so why have the taxpayers continue to pay?
"Obviously she is no longer a threat to society, she really has no quality of life any longer, a long drawn out painful illness, all those years behind bars - yes, I think its okay to release her now."
