Adam, You are clearly not learned in the bible. When asked why Jesus dined with the criminals as opposed to the devout, he replied "Is it not the sick that need doctors?" Jesus preached to those obedient in the Lord's words, and those who had strayed from it, and did not descriminate. in the bible it sates that it is God's job, not man's to judge a person, and that God loves man as he loves his only begotten son. Though God may not love the person's ways, God still loves them, and everyone is owed an oppurtunity to learn God's word. I hope that you remember the words of Jesus next time you make such a sick statement as "Start actually believing and preaching the Bible and you will generally REPEL people like him, not attract them." no, the right church, when those members attend, will attract people to turn to the will of God, not repel them simply because of their past sins. One of God's greatest gifts is his mercy (not deserved forgiveness). So were these people attracted to the church, the MERCY of God would have allowed them to begin a new life as Christians. She was wrong because its not really the ones that live their lives truly following the teachings of christianity that are "FAGS, CHILD MOLESTORS, LESBIANS, RACISTS, DRUG ABUSERS RAPISTS AND THE WHOLE NINE". Its the people that claim it but don't live out what the bible teaches.
But, in response to juliet and Jocelyns comments, the bible does portray homosexuality in a negative light. Paul in his letters to the Romans, as well as in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy writes about homosexuality refering to it as "dishonorable passions" and lists it as a sin among many other deplorable sins as well as with phrases such as "whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine". And he goes as far as saying "those who do such things deserve to die".
Nonetheless, juliet is right in saying that "God loves us all, no matter our sexual orientation" but that also extends to a "child molester/drug addict/racist" because He hates sin, regardless of what sin it may be but and loves the sinner, regardless of what sin he/she may be commiting.

The fact is that juliet really didn't "say it perfectly" because the whole theme behind christianity is to love one another regardless of our sins or ignorances. I do agree that maRI'S mOMMys statement was ignorant but that shouldnt cause a reaction like the one of juliets. The surprise is that it manifested itself when it did.
The event of most importance and the event that Adam Manning should have been engrossed in and sharing in with his girlfriend, that of the birth of his son, should have been foremost in his thoughts and yet he was able to put that aside and, neglecting that most special moment, found himself preoccupied with his "pre-sexual activities".
It is more than a mere "demonstration of bad manners".
It is a demonstration of the extend to which we occupy ourselves with our sexuality and how we let that take over our lives to the point that we neglect and lose out on the most important parts of it, whether directly or as of a consequence of our actions.
In this case the birth of his son and possibly a relationship with his gf if she decides that it is not worth persuing. And it is possilbe as this is possibly and probably not his first time acting like this.
