| Christina McIntyre did nothing until the baby stopped breathing |
On October 6, Christina McIntyre sat and watched as her 2-year-old son Micah piled blankets and a bean bag chair onto his 11-month-old baby brother, Elijah, then climbed on top and began jumping until the baby stopped breathing. The 23-year-old Titusville, Florida mom waited a minute to pull the infant off, then spanked him and sent him to his room.
First she sent a text message to her boyfriend. She eventually called 911, then weirdly told the dispatcher that paramedics could decide if Elijah lived or died. She said she tried CPR and pumped the baby's heart, but Elijah wouldn't be revived until paramedics arrived with oxygen. She told them the baby had sleep apnea. But that story didn't hold up with doctors at the hospital when she gave conflicting stories of what went down...
 |
| Her MySpace posts show her wallowing in depression in the days leading up to the incident |
The baby had four doctor's appointments and been hospitalized three times since September 21. On Oct. 15, the Florida Department of Children and Families claimed that reported Mcintyre to police, claiming that during tests for apnea at several hospitals in Central Florida, doctors found that the boy was fine and that his mother was the cause of breathing problems.
McIntyre eventually admitted that she'd fabricated the previous incidents. And she soon admitted that she'd watched the smothering. It's unknown if she helped and encouraged Micah to do it, or simply did nothing as it happened. She confessed to police that her life would be better if the baby was dead. She couldn't afford day care for both kids, and she wanted to go back to work.
 |
| Micah tried to suffocate his baby brother Elijah |
There's no question McIntyre was depressed. Her MySpace page, last updated October 11, shows her mood as "overwhelmed" with the notation, "October sucks." Her posts throughout September speak to a woman in despair: "Never count on anything or anyone in life!!!" she writes on September 25. "No matter how hard you try in the end it doesn't really matter!" she says on the 16th. Then again on the 5th: "Just when life is looking up it comes and knocks you on your ass again."
On her OKCupid page, she implies that her former husband cheated on her:
Currently i am a single mother of 2 handsome boys. I am plannig to go back to school in the fall to work towards getting my nursing degree. TO be honest with every one i would still be with my husband and raising a happy family if it wasn't for him stepping out on me.I plan to be very successful and have a very happy family in the next few years.(atleast thats my goal)... I spend a lot of time thinking about what my future holds and if it includes a father figure for my boys.I constantly think about the what IF'S in life!!!i also think about my kids future.
Ironically enough, under the section called The Six Things I Could Never Do Without, the first item listed is "My kids."
McIntyre was arrested Thursday and is being held without bond for attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, child abuse and child neglect causing great bodily harm. And she's now without her kids. They're in the custody of the Florida
Department of Children and Families.
What the hell is with these moms? Oh, never mind, she's in Florida - that explains it. Common sense seems to have been all but eradicated from the gene pool down there.
If they don't want to have kids, they should keep their legs closed. Judging by the looks of her, she takes it where she can get it. No wonder the husband cheated on her.
There's a lesson here: Never bring a fat crazy woman home from the bar with you and knock her up.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 11:33:05 AMThat is a very unfair comment! There are bad parents and weirdos who kill their children all over this country. Susan Smith-NC, Andrea Yates-TX, Banita Jacks-DC, La'Tonya Dixon-CA to name a few. This has nothing to do with common sense. Most of the time it has to do with selfishness and not being able to handle the responsibility of raising children because they were never taught to be responsible, and sometimes it's just plain because they are crazy! this type of thing is not exclusive to Florida, there are alot of good, responsible, loving parents here!
Posted 10/23/2009 at 02:32:17 PMI think it is sad that this type of thing happens. That people can be so cruel. I think that if someone isn't prepared to have children that they can avoid it. There are SOOO MANY types of birth control now it is insane. Plus, if you can't handle it there are places where you can go for help or hell, give your children up if you know it is better for them. The whole bloody world is cruel and full of distain but when there are stories like this out there it just seems to make the whole world worse. Crazy people should get help and support not think the only option is to kill your children. And there are crazy people all over the world. Florida and bars are not the only house for them.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 03:14:55 PMYou guys are talking about being responsible parents here, but I dont think she planned becoming divorced/separated from her current husband. As a result she is in a position where she is unable to afford two kids (she claims) so it seems that he was the primary bread winner of the family. Him leaving had a significant detriment to the financial well being of her and her kids. She needs to go back to work to feed her kids, yet going back to work means putting two kids into daycare which she apparently can't afford either. She should give her kids up for adoption or start collecting some money from the biological father. -- on the other hand she could have her other son who thought he was playing a game, MURDER his brother. That doesn't sound crazy to me, but just plain selfish.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 04:23:51 PMI know that it's not just happening in Florida but, good Lord, is there something in the water down there? How do you stand by and watch one child smother the other?
Posted 10/23/2009 at 04:40:05 PMFortunately, there are far more people who choose to do whatever they can and whatever they have to do to keep their kids healthy and happy even in desperate times. We only hear and read about the crazies. And further more we choose to read crime blogs and crime blogs obviously are searching out these crazy stories. My husband and kids think I am bizarre for filling my time with this garbage.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 06:39:39 PMHow the hell did something that fat get knocked up not once, but twice? What kind of desperate retard would go after /that/. As for the kid killing... Well, that's one way to remove yourself from the gene pool - and good riddance.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 08:22:02 PMok WOW, you need to pull your head out of your ass.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 08:23:33 PMI am a single father raising my daughter in this cess pool or whatever you say and I am as loving a parent as possible.
So, before you go and bash an entire state for 1 womans action, take a deep breath and quit being a moron.
Here come the moronic analyzations. Great. How about this one... This woman is a cold-blooded murderer, who used her 2-year-old baby as her murder weapon. PERIOD.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 08:54:07 PMThe women in prison must treat you pretty bad when you do something like this. Most of them probably have kids at home they can't see, and here this chick is trying to get her toddler to kill his little brother? I mean...
Posted 10/23/2009 at 08:56:28 PMYes, Matt, I'm the moron...
I'm not the one who lives in a state where it's sunny / warm 355 days out of the year, yet quite a few people go to tanning salons.
Bash an entire state? Apparently, genius, you don't watch or read the news. Just off of the top of my head, in the past week: Kids light another kid on fire over $40, a kid gets kidnapped and throw in the trash, an ADULT (18 I believe) gets arrested for streaking in a Tampa dorm room. Do I have to go on?
And, I typed "gene pool". Learn to read, or did you know you can just scroll up and re-read something again - aren't these computer things nifty? But, I find it amusing that you would assume I typed "cess pool" when referring to Florida. Point proven... MORON
PS. now go google "eradicated". I know you want to.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 09:04:54 PMThere are so many people out there that want children and can not have them. Then you have people like this that kill or attempt to kill their children. All you have to do is give them up for adoption. It's legal. Instead you have one child try to kill another. If this country would go back to "an eye for an eye" this kind of insanity would not happen as often as it does. She should rot in jail.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 09:12:39 PMunfortunately, it's true. Florida is just full of less than intelligent people. It's the water.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 09:17:29 PMwow... most florida people are retarded cant believe someone would watch that happen to their baby! :P
Posted 10/23/2009 at 09:51:34 PMWhat a sick, sick, sick person. Give the baby up for adoption.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 09:52:48 PMFlorida is a melting pot and most of the people are from all over the world. Crime happens all over the world some times it doesn't make the news. This is why there is law enforcement in every city because there is crime. She knows what she did and there is truly only 2 people who knows what happen and that is Christina and God.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 09:59:28 PM@Gale: Nope, Florida is a breeding ground for morons such as yourself.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 10:07:08 PMWow, you people are the ones that make me ashamed. Just come here to expunge your judgments on others in situations you don't understand. There is something called the hindsight bias in psychology, where people judge another's actions with the 20-20 of hindsight. Sounds apt here. Here is a girl who, as an above poster wisely cited, never had her husband plan to cheat on her and wound up in a catch-22 to end all catch-22's where working would mean leaving her kids and not-working meant not providing for them. Until one of you has been in a situation where there was no good way out, don't cast stones. Oh, wait - all people have been in those situations to various degrees. Which means most of you are just being hypocrites. Instead, the "kill 'em all" types never help one of these people when everything's falling down around 'em, but love to judge the shit out of them when they finally and predictably snap.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 10:07:10 PMPeople like her make me sick, and she has the nerve to say that she wanted to go into a profession where the goal is to save lives and make them better. She never even cared enough to save her own child's life, hopeful we will never have to find out if she would save a stranger's life.Everyone faces hardships in life, it is no reason, no excuse for her behavior.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 10:20:23 PMthas why messed up. i hate ppl like this.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 10:33:39 PMDoes this mom have any family or friends that saw signs of her frustration. Did anyone step up to help her? maybe take a baby for the day? Does Florida not have assistance for Daycare? Does Florida have better employment rates than RI, where I am from? There is alot more here than stated and all are to blame. it is noted that on her facebook she states her anguish, people usually have those sights to speak to many people so here it is again, someone stating unhealthy comments and nothing done until the little boy is dead. and what is dad's part in all this? to busy with his new girl to help? financially or with the children? so many comments that prove that we are quick to judge and blame AFTER the issue. now the wonderful state of florida will pay for her living expenses for the rest of her life in jail with another living in the state's custody. these stories effect everyone, no matter what state, financially with taxes and labeling with ignorance.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 10:49:28 PMYou dont get it. You actually buy into that crap she is spreading. It is my opinion as a 32 year veteran of a police department that she killed her own child and put the responsibility on her other son who can not testify. What a sociopath, how could anyone believe anything she says. Feeling sorry for her is what she is manipulating you to do. She's good, real good.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 11:10:43 PMI'm sorry to say this, because I know it sounds ridiculous -- but I too believe that there are simply an inordinate amount of stupid people in Florida. Look at the 2000 election. It seems like every bad policy, every backas*wards hick, every scheming lecherous televangelist, every bigoted politician, every gay-bashing public speaker comes from Florida or Texas. Sometimes I wish the South would have won the Civil War so we wouldn't have to hear from Texas and let their cretinous manchildren run our country. When the governor recently threatened to secede from the union, you can bet millions of people in the rest of America were cheering him on. Texas is like its own country -- a country of moronic hillbillies, and Florida is where dumb people go to feel smart. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 12:53:13 AMHow does a discussion about a woman who killed her infant turn into a Florida bashfest? What did Florida do to the rest of the country? Seriously. If you guys hate us so damn bad, stop vacationing here. More warm weather for us. Enjoy your winter.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 01:04:38 AMI would no more take a vacation in Florida than I would in Texas. If I wanted a frontal lobotomy, I would check myself into the mental hospital and fling poo at the staff. What did Florida do to the rest of the country? Are you serious? Ask the million dead Iraqi's and 5,000 dead American soldiers who died because Florida couldn't figure out how to vote properly.
That said -- yes, this is a tragedy, and I shouldn't have discussed something else. But give me a break. Don't tell me Florida doesn't have a lot of stupid people. There was just a survey done about the most intelligent cities in America. They rated around 60 of them, using very good criteria, like: 1. Amount of people with HS diplomas, college degrees and masters degrees, 2. Non-fiction books sales, 3. local political involvement, etc. etc.
Guess who was at the very bottom of the list? Miami, of course, and some more Florida cities. Guess who had 3 cities in the bottom 5 stupidest cities in America -- you guessed it...Texas! Not that any intelligent person had to see that survey to know that.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 01:20:32 AMh.g. said:
"How does a discussion about a woman who killed her infant turn into a Florida bashfest?"
Because they are stupid dumb asses. I am from California by the way.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 02:50:05 AM"McIntyre was arrested Thursday... for attempted felony murder... And she's now without her kids."
Am I the only person who caught the fact that the baby is still alive?
Posted 10/24/2009 at 03:47:47 AMFirst of all that test was made in such a way that immigrants would curve the results. Duh Florida has less book sales and less people with diplomas! They have one of the greatest concentrations of immigrants for Christ's sake! And notice that all the women doing stuff like that are educated white women, not the people who curve the test you talked about. As for "figuring how to vote properly" you could also blame the other states who voted in such a way to put the fate on Flprida's hands. As for Florida being in the news, haven't you noticed that the majority of news is coming from popular states such as New York, California, and yes, Florida? It's a state that everyone has their eye on with a very high concentration of people per square mile.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 04:06:22 AMAs for saying to not have kids, she was very wrong and there's no excuse. But post-portum depression is very common. She may have been happy but the balance of hormones can get way out of wack. This doesn't EVER excuse her behavior but this may shed light on it.
"She confessed to police that her life would be better if her baby is dead"???
Umm... so what? I'm sure the cop would also confess that his life would be better without his kids too.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 04:44:00 AMOh for heavens sake people, stop with the bashfest already as one person so nicely put it.
There's at least one bad apple everywhere you go around the world including where I am here in Australia.
I, too, disagree with what she did, am shocked and abhorred, but they did say she was showing signs of depression. Yes she should be locked up and/or have her kids removed from her, but she also needs some serious counselling, and so does that little boy who was trying to kill his sibling.
Apparently, she did show signs of depression, and one of the things that happen when you have depression is you do stupid things like attempt to kill yourself, your kids or both, in whatever way comes to hand. She saw the sibling rivalry and apparently used that.
I agree, it's wrong, and she should have sought help, but looks like on the Net, she did call for help in a roundabout way, and it seems no one caught on to what her problem was.
People DO snap, they are not perfect. So as someone else said, who are we to judge? Didn't the bible say something like let those who have not sinned cast the first stone?
As to locations and their gene pools...
I've just read another article about a mother in Detroit who not only abused her girls, but pushed them into a heated oven. Here in Australia, we've had one crazy idiot throw his 4 year old off a bridge... so don't just badmouth one State, when cruel things happen the world over.
Just a thought.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 11:10:01 AMI feel really sad for the baby. And also for his brother who killed him. Imagine growing up knowing that you caused someone's death! Horrible.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 01:06:16 PMI have 2 young boys, 2 years and 9 months, and I could never imagine ever allowing my older one do that to the younger one. This woman is sick and needs serious help. Thankfully from reading the story, I don't think the baby died as they have stated "attempted murder" and that her children are with the state so I think he stayed alive and thankfully will no longer be with that psycho mother of theirs.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 01:23:14 PMA 2 year old and an 11 month old: mom got pregnant very soon after delivering first baby. She's probably been overwhelmed by the realities of parenting, especially as a young single mom.
Still, I agree with the cop above who said there is something clinically wrong with this woman. The lack of concern for either child's welfare -- maybe not a sociopath, but she must have some sort of personality disorder.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 01:29:28 PM@Michi Not only were your remarks uncalled for, they were absolutely disgusting. Her looks are not pertinent to what she allowed to happen. And how dare you make the gene pool comment? It's leading me to believe that maybe you're a likely candidate to exit it at some point.
Sorry but that really ticked me off.
Posted 10/24/2009 at 09:37:51 PMSomething is really wrong with the people in Florida. I never knew about this but after some really bad experiences, I googled and to my surprise found that I am not alone. Something's f***-ed up there.
Posted 10/25/2009 at 12:00:24 AMHow can you watch and or encourage such a heart breaking thing. Children are a gift. Some people shouldnt be given that gift.
Posted 10/25/2009 at 12:01:58 AMJust so you all know it happens in your state to.
Posted 10/25/2009 at 12:05:03 AMHow sick can one person be? There are so many people that would love to have a healthy baby and can't. It would have been so easy for her to find a good home for these children. Now, one is dead and the other will, someday, find out that he killed his brother. This woman should never have access to her living son again. I have two children and they are everything in my life. I can't imagine anyone being so totally indifferent to another person, especially her own child.
Posted 10/25/2009 at 04:20:05 AMTHE BABY IS NOT DEAD GOD CAN YOU PEOPLE READ !!!!!!
Posted 10/26/2009 at 03:18:07 PMThis woman has obviously got mental problems.
To the really unkind commenters who had made really nasty jibes about her weight - Grow Up. Not everyone is pencil slim especially after having two children close together.
Posted 10/26/2009 at 03:42:47 PMYou should be ashamed of yourselves.
Good grief, what does this girls weight have to do with what she is accused of, I expect all those who commented are picture perfect. There appears to be only four people posting on here, including myself who read that the baby is not dead. If you cant get that right before you mouth off, perhaps you should stay silent. Postnatal depression is a dreadful illness, she should have had help before the babies life was endangered.
Posted 10/26/2009 at 04:10:31 PMTo be fair its most of America that is Pretty moronic.
Anthony UK.
Posted 10/27/2009 at 07:21:41 AMThe baby did not die... all of you keep talking about each other being stupid but you can not even read that the little one did not die? He is alive and doing well with his brother they are both in the states custody. I think this is a truly sad story to have something like this happen to such an innocent little child. It wasnt the childs fault it was the parents.
Posted 10/27/2009 at 09:16:08 PMIf its lewd, violent, and totally outside the spectrum of human behavior its probably in Florida. I can say this as a reluctant Floridan. I moved here from New York at the tender age of 5, but even then I knew something wasn't quite right here. The water, you say? That's a good guess, but improbable. Under our vapid Floridan feet lies the floridan aquifer, a beautiful underground river of melted polar ice. Its clean (despite us) and so plentiful that a little town called Zephyrhills bottles it and sends it all around the country. You may be drinking it now. So if the special brand of stupid and violent comes from the water, we're all in trouble.
Posted 10/28/2009 at 02:42:02 PMI wish I could blame a specific demographic, but, sadly I can't. We are a melting pot. So why, why, why are there so many WTF headlines here? and its not just recently. Its way before the election we botched because we can't even count our ill gotten votes. Adam Walsh, baby lollipops, the other little girl that DCF actually lost track of until her dead body was found in a more responsible state in the union. We truly, and repeatedly have let down our most innocent residents. Can we blame the education system? Its not the greatest, but its not as bad as Texas. So what then?
I've given it some thought, and i have a hypothesis and solution, So if you've read this far, stick with me here.
Florida, unlike so many other states, has no true Fall/ Winter season. The season where every tree and shrub outside your kitchen widow dies. It turns brown and red and yellow and falls to the ground. then a lovely period of white where you spend time indoors with your thoughts and loved ones and you are reminded of the fragility of life and its sacred impact on others. However subtle an impact it has on you psychologically-it exists annually.
In Florida we simply survive in our temperature controlled boxes. We go along all year at the same pace and grow angrier, hotter, faster, and never stop to consider much of anything. Nothing stops us but the occasional tropical storm. Even then how do we handle it? we kill each other over water and generators. Other states band together to build a sand bay levee, not us.
we wait and complain about FEMA.
So I think its the heat, paired with generations of folks who never sat with the family and prayed to survive the winter has created a breed of people
that have no respect for life whatsoever.
This *breed* is breeding faster and more prolifically than the rest of us sentient Floridans. Most of us *sentients*, and you all know this is true, are from other states, you are not six generations in one trailer park. We are not familiar with this land of the 35 year old grandparent. The rest of us come from places where it We have children when we are ready. We have the education and the financial and MENTAL maturity parenthood requires. But we are few and far between. The solution? im not here to just bash. I think you need a license for everything here. To fish, to kill a gator, to drive a truck with chromes testicles even.. but not check nor balance to be a Mom. I think you should have to pass a psychological, financial and educational background test. Im not saying all single moms should loose their kids. But it takes a hell of a woman to pull it off. Show us you can do it. If you fail you loose the privilege of motherhood. That simple. Perhaps you're demoted to crazy aunt christina. This is too important a job to let a half wit- half depressed woman do it. There are plenty of women who will raise Florida's prom night babies. Let the most stable women apply.
who's behind me?
@ wow idiot comment from an idiot person.
yeah the mothers a horrible person. But where the hell's the dad? In the same breath you criticize the mom for not keeping her legs closed and show empathy for the dad cheating on her and abandoning his kids. and then give the worldly advice of not bringing fat women home and knocking them up. Stay classy.
Posted 10/28/2009 at 04:18:55 PMI have always said that all girls (and maybe boys too) should be tested in school on parenthood, that way they will have a file on everybody in order to help them decide if they do have the ability and really want children or not. They test children on almost everything these days -apart from one of the most important subject, not just to bring up children but also respect them. That way, the next generation have a better outlook on life and a better future for themselves and their own siblings. Maybe then Mugging; killing; raping; and bullying will eventually become non-existent. Wishfull thinking? Well at least it's a start to a better future.
Posted 10/28/2009 at 06:16:54 PMFl idiocracy is a prime example of what Floridians have to endure. People like that only come here to party, throw up, act in ways they would never dare at home, and then leave thier filth and trash behind. If you hate it here so much, please go back and be God's gift to New York. Don't bring your arrogant crap here. There is a bumper sticker fed up Floridians often put on their cars - "Welcome to Florida - now go home"! Our beautiful sub-tropical state would be heaven on Earth (like is used to be) if all the haters went back up north or where ever you came from. Get off our beach and out of our lives! Low life scum!
Posted 10/29/2009 at 08:08:00 AMAngry much Top cat? Too hot in your trailer? I didn't come here to party. I came here to live with my family. We just noticed folks are pretty touchy here, and also violent. I was merely posing a hypothesis to those who blame our water for our behavior. I hate no one, not even you. My arrogant crap will remain here and my New York money is buying up all this great cheap subtropical land for more new yorkers to come visit! PS way to prove my point for me, thanks!
Posted 10/29/2009 at 09:39:14 AMWell this has been enlightening I must say, as a British citizen, I can't believe that the main comments seem to be cantered on discussing the 'merits' of Florida. Like some kind of competition on which is the best state in the US. Good grief people, can't you focus on the real story here. A woman calmly watches her child smother his sibling, which could have so easily resulted in his death. A whole family destroyed by her apparent depression. This story and the general comments made. It's all just sad folks .... There's a whole world out there away from America and it's full of tragedies like this.
Posted 10/29/2009 at 09:47:46 AMI agree w/ Deb. Its depressing,I think the fact that this "Mom" was spending time on message boards like MySpace instead of cultivating real relationships helped her alienate herself. why not call a friend instead of Blog that you're "overwhelmed"?
Posted 10/29/2009 at 09:57:47 AMYou know what. I'm getting sick and tired of these women killing their babies or letting their babies die. THERE IS NO FUCKING EXCUSE, I was had the worst case of postpartum depression and also diagnosed border line personaility. So yeah in other words I'm a fuckin nut, but I never ever even thought of hurting my children. People need to get their heads out of their asses, IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO HAVE CHILDREN THEN DON'T OPEN YOUR LEGS! Thats common sense plus if you can't handle your children then give them up for adoption. These women makes me sick and whats even worst is the judicial system put more people away for possesion of drugs or selling drugs MORE than these idiotic fucks that kill their own children. For example a guy would kill his own infant baby, he gets 7 years in jail, while a guy down the street selling a bag of weed gets 20 years. I'm not saying selling drugs is right but it should be the other way around but this is why more and more people are killing their own children because they know they only goin get a slap on the wrist especially those that claim depression or . ANYONE WHO KILLS ANYONE (with the exception of self defense) should go straight to the fucking electric chair Crazy or not crazy. I mean just think about more and more people are killing ever since they took away the death penalty and more and more people are figuring out that if they just plead insanity then they can get away with anything. So in my point of view, I think the judicial system is also responsible for so many deaths in the U.S. committed today by giving letting these assholes walk. I'm sorry 15 or 20 years in prison is NOT ENOUGH!
Posted 10/31/2009 at 01:01:27 AMOk I have read and read through all these stories... I am a friend of Christinas. Yes her husband cheated on her and there were other circumstances in which they seperated. She was living in Texas at the time and moved to Florida to be with family. She lived with her aunt and did not have to pay bills. The father lives in Texas still. He did send money to her as she told me this herself but it was not enough. There are lots of parents who don't get support at all from their children's father and they don't try to kill their kids. Yes both kids are fine and are in custody of family. It is awful that she felt this was her way out. Christina reached out to many of us in her time of despair but she also had lies upon lies flowing from her mouth. We were getting stories that were filled with lies. Whatever she could say to get attention. I know her children. Both are very sweet and my children have played with the older child. I know Christina very well too and I can't believe that she did this as the person I knew was all about her kids. I don't know what made her do this and at this point don't care all I care about is those sweet boys making a better life without her. She needs to get help and never be allowed with her children again. Thats my opinion. If she wasn't happy with her current situation then she should have tried to change it. We all offered her advise and even a place to live. I myself told her she could move in with me and I would keep her kids while she worked but in reality she is the only one who could make a better life for herself and her kids. Don't blame her friends and family for not stepping in until you know what we have done. Help was there she chose not to take it.
Posted 11/06/2009 at 11:58:23 AMFlorida does NOT have a monopoly on crazy, insane or in this case---inhuman people who sacrifice their young for their own selfish reasons. There IS help in MANY places---one cannot get angry with her for being depressed in her state of life/living, but I sure as hell am angry that this innocent child died and his brother--who will have no memory of this but who WILL one day find out he had a sibling that he unknowingly killed---will NEVER be the same for the actions of their "mother".
We live in a conradictory society---we're suppossed to 'step in' when we see wrongs--yet I am always seeing left and right "oh, I didn't want to interfere" or "it's not my place to do anything". WTF? In Wisconsin right now a 27 year old mother is serving a YEAR--ONE FRICKING YEAR for feeding her 3 month old formula laced with METHODONE---killing the infant, and yet she only gets a year for 1st degree murder. Kids are the ones needing our help the most and yet their lives matter in the LEAST.
STOP blaming Florida (and no, I do not live there nor have I ever lived there---there are nasty people EVERYWHERE--WAKE UP) and stop giving license to those who make OTHERS SUFFER for their problems. Where did accountability go---into the toilet, thats where. This "mother" will probably get probation and in a few years will have another baby she can mess with and her name will be forgotten in socities' memory.
Who is to blame for this--all of us---for continuing to want to 'help' those who need a wake up call and not merely a slap on the wrist, while at the same time we dump to the curb the REAL ones who need help---like that precious baby who now is worm food.
Posted 11/08/2009 at 10:35:04 AMHey Summer! try reading the story, the baby's not dead. If you want to write "WAKE UP" in CAPS try reading the story, or a post other than the very last one. Worm food,... really? stay classy SUMMER
