"Basically what I am trying to say here is that in Indiana there are no qualifications to be a cororner. You just have to beat the other guy in the election. After that just do so many hours per year in training. The Grant County Coroner is not a doctor or anywhere close. He is a good guy though. Qualified to rule homicide by pressure being applied to weight I am not sure, but he is a good person.
"If the ex-assistant mayor of Marion is so innocent in this, why was she given immunity from prosecution to testify before the grand jury? As far as I know simply being a mistress or an adultress is a moral issue, not punishable in a court of law. So what did she do that she could have been charged for? Conspiracy, aididing and abetting?"
"Maybe she is the one that applied pressure to the weights if that is what happened. It doesn't take a person of strength to apply pressure. What could she have been charged with? Makes me wonder.
"This could just be an accident and happned the way Scott Patison said it did. Maybe Mrs. Pattison just got tried and the weights fell and she could not remove them in time. It looks like there was not a spotter there with her. This happened just recently with an NFL player.
| Scott Pattison was indicted for murdering his wife |
"Maybe he is telling the truth. Maybe not. The closest hospital to his house is in Wabash not Marion. Maybe all this is why the Wabash prosecuter called for a grand jury to make the decision for him because he was not sure of all the evidence and getting too much political pressure from Grant County for charges to be pressed against Mr. Pattison."

Seriously? Um, dudes, don't get all conspiracy-minded. Coroners who aren't doctors hire pathologists to do autopsies. It's fairly common (or at least not uncommon) for coroners not to be doctors.
Don't you think that if the lack of a medical degree jeopardized the investigations into murders someone would've changed it? Coroners without medical degrees are like the managers and faces of the office. They just hire people to fill those medical spots. You can argue that it's not a good idea to have non-medical types hiring medical types or that there could still be a conspiracy (or an f-up) between the pathologists and coroner but don't argue that the coroner can't determine cause of death correctly because he's not a doctor. If he's not a doctor then it's not his job to determine cause of death anyway.
Posted 10/03/2009 at 08:58:08 PMThe Marion paper the Chronicle Tribune is already taking sides on this matter. They have yet to report on this "Mistress" at all. Have they been told to cover it up? There is something going on behind the scenes especially since they granted this woman immunity. From what I have heard...there was something pretty significant that Pattison and the "Mistress" had between them near the time of the alleged murder. Whether that is personal contact or phone contact the day of the murder is yet to be told. I think it was pretty early in the case to be giving full immunity. Makes one wonder if the GOP Government in Marion is protecting one of their own by pulling strings in a very serious Murder Trial. It's a sad thing to think that a woman's life to the GOP in Marion isn't as important as their Parties reputation.
