| Eric Williamson was at home making coffee and breakfast naked |
Eric Williamson was making coffee, breakfast, and packing a box one morning in his own home. Since no one else was there, he was doing it in the nude. But neighbors use a trail that cuts through his yard, and that morning a mom was walking her 7-year-old son to the bus stop. The blinds were up, so she spotted Williamson naked. She called the cops.
We won't bag on mom for calling. Who knows? Perhaps she thought there was some exhibitionist pervert in her neighborhood. But Williamson, who has a kid of his own, says he'd never intentionally do that. And since he's readily talking to the media about his plight, he doesn't sound at all like a creep with something to hide...
But Fairfax County Police -- perhaps run over by a tidal wave of sphincterism -- busted him anyway. Spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings says bare-nakedness wasn't the problem. It was flaunting that bare-nakedness that branded Williamson a perv. They even went to a judge before issuing a warrant.
"He wasn't merely moving around the house," she told WUSA-TV. "He was actually standing
in an open doorway and standing in front of a pretty large window when
she observed him naked."
And since Williamson is a hair-farmer that the normal straight-laced
cop might find suspicious, police don't believe this was simply a case
of absent-minded exposure.

"a trail that cuts through his yard"
Drop charges on him, arrest the mom. It's her own stupid fault they saw him, and she should have more sense than that. I don't care how many people do it, take the long way around the yard, i bet no one would have seem him. Not even going to get into the stupid over protective freaking out about a naked body, i bet the kid cared less than the mom.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:23:31 PMThis is ridiculous ! Of course one can be naked in his house if he wants ! It's his space , his freedom, I can't understand why it can be a problem ! If you go that way, that women shouldn't have watched trough this man's window, she was violating his space !
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:27:40 PMReally, you american people go too far sometimes :D
There's more to this story than what is posted here. Read the following links.
http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/local/102109_naked_man_arrested_after_making_coffee_update
Apparently, this isn't the first time he's done this, nor did the incident happen at 5:30 in the morning. It happened at 8:30 while the mother was walking her child to school. And his roommates said that they believed he was drunk when they left for work that morning.
Last month, Williamson was charged with public drunkenness and swearing. He was found guilty last week when he didn't show up for court. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/crime/Was-he-making-coffee-naked-or-exposing-himself-to-a-child_-8418601-65192472.html
And this link is quite interesting too. http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local-beat/Man-Charged-After-Being-Seen-Naked-in-His-Home-65316082.html The mother said Williamson was standing in an open carport doorway. She and her son didn't see him right away, but they heard a noise from that area and looked to see what it was. This article also contains some information from Williamson's roommates about that day. Very interesting, to say the least.
This was NOT a man that just happened to be nude in his own home at 5:30 in the morning.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:34:49 PMHe was NOT inside his home. He was in an open doorway leading to outside. The mother and child didn't see him at first, then Williamson began making noises to get their attention.
Hopefully, my previous comment will be approved. It has links showing what actually transpired from neutral news sources.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:37:00 PMMaybe they should arrest the woman for being a peeping tom!
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:37:11 PMHe's kinda cute! Maybe he's get an offer from Playgirl out of this!
I think mom needs to keep her eyes on her child and the road instead of checking out people's windows. Reporting this man to the police was uncalled for given that he was in his own house.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:52:06 PMBogustoo, was your neutral news source Fox News?
This is how they reported it:
But Fairfax County Police see it differently. Spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings said the woman and her son first saw Williamson standing naked inside his doorway as they walked along a path outside his home. Police say Williamson then followed the two from inside his home and exposed himself again through a large front window.
I don't agree that Faux News is neutral...it's barely a news source either! ;) And their account above saying he followed them through his house to a large picture window?!? Puhlease! I think if they saw hi naked and felt uncomfortable about it, then they should have averted their vision from this naked man, then followed up by never tresspassing again on someone else's property!
Our society as a whole is way too up tight about the naked human form. And, where else should one be comfortable enough to be naked, if not in ones own home?
Posted 10/22/2009 at 04:57:00 PMTry nbcwashington. Or, even better, google this jerk's name. He's been in trouble with the law in the recent past. Also, his roommates said he was drunk when they left the house.
This idiot was standing in an open doorway THAT LEADS TO THE OUTSIDE. How can you say that you should be able to be nude in an open doorway outside when there are children at a bus stop right across the street? The mother and child didn't see him at first, until he started making noises to get their attention (yes, that was while he was in the open doorway). He was TRYING to expose himself to the mother and child.
Personally, if he truly WAS nude in his own home, minding his own business, then it would not be an issue. However, that was not the case.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 05:09:32 PMMaybe this link will post so you can see. http://www.shadowscope.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt-tb.cgi/5652
Posted 10/22/2009 at 05:13:53 PMThe link Bogustoo was trying to post is http://www.shadowscope.com/archives/2009/10/the_fairfax_county_attorney_has_lost_his_mind.php#comment-11378
The other one is the trackback url.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 10:29:59 PMI'm naked, and lovin it.
Posted 10/22/2009 at 10:46:56 PMWhy not charge MOMMY with TRESPASSING? And while you're at it-contributing to the delinquency of a minor-she's teaching her child that it's okay to trespass on someone else's land. The article says they cut through HIS yard.
His previous scrapes with the law are irrelevant to this situation. Does mommy have a spotless record? Perhaps a trespassing charge that people can use against her the next time she gets all high and mighty, would make her think twice.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 06:16:36 AMThis guy oughta fence his property-maybe get a dog. Now certainly this story is the latest neighborhood gossip-will parents continue to let their kids cut through his land? Is so-shame on the parents-they've been warned.
Sure-if this is true, he's a creep, but STAY OFF HIS PROPERTY.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 07:35:06 AMA few well-placed land mines would forever solve the very neighborly act of 'I'm just taking a shortcut thru this other chump's property'.
Posted 10/23/2009 at 03:01:53 PMSoooo what if he was drunk last month in public, so what if he has long hair, so bloody what if it was 8:30 or 4:30 or whatever time! He was on his own property and chose not to wear clothes. The clench-cheeked soccer mom was trespassing across HIS yard when she --- gasp -- saw a naked man (and one with a pretty nice build, at that). This is sexism -- if this had been reversed and it was a young woman walking around in the buff, and a soccer dad spotted her -- c'mon people, get on with your lives.
Posted 10/28/2009 at 01:48:11 PMBogusto sounds as troubled with the human body as the soccer mom who reported Eric Williamson. I guess that's what watching too much O'Reilly factor does to the brain!
Posted 10/28/2009 at 01:50:38 PMHow do they know he was walking around flaunting it? How long was this lady watching him? How long are you allowed to be naked in your own home before someone watching you would consider it flaunting?
Posted 10/30/2009 at 01:31:28 AMAs a fellow nudist, I would definitely counter sue or bring charges against the pathetic mom. When I was really young, my mother and I were riding down the street and at a stop sign, there was this girl sticking her bare butt out of the window. My mom said "Look away, sweetie" and kept on driving. That is what the mom should have done. I am willing to bet she had her own fantasy world where "I bet he wants to rape me!" Or she must be so bored with her life. Clearly, she is rude as sht to walk in HIS yard and do that! Even if he DID make noises to get their attention, she should have yelled out an apology and gone on about her business, never trespassing in his yard again. He should put a sign up "Nudist Property...KEEP OFF" I walk though my home naked because it is more comfortable. I don't sleep naked, since I live alone and you can never be too safe. But I do walk the house that way. I keep my blinds and curtains closed but some people are more free about it. Stupid mom...
Posted 10/30/2009 at 03:00:33 PMIf this situation were reversed, and a naked woman were in her own home and a man trespassing through her property saw her naked, HE would be charged with being a peeping tom. Double standard. The fact is that our society does not like men who expose excess flesh heedlessly. But for women, exposing flesh is okay. Just look at Western women's clothing options: women's fashions emphasize exposing as much flesh as possible, while men are forced to cover up.
Posted 11/07/2009 at 07:10:29 AMI want to know where this man is. What have the Fairfax police done with him??? Killed him? Had him killed?
His court date was November 6....
I'm driving down to Fairfax, Virginia, from Georgia on Friday after work if I don't hear something by then.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 05:02:05 AMI agree, Teddy W -- I don't like that I haven't heard anything about Eric Williamson's Nov 6th court appearance... no pun intended. I'm worried.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 05:05:41 AMI came online again today looking for information about this case and how it turned out. I called the Fairfax Times and was told to talk to Gregg MacDonald in their newsroom. I've sent him an email and left a voice message but he has not responded to me.
Posted 12/14/2009 at 04:43:39 PMHow ridiculous. Hopefully the mother is charged for trespassing and peeping. Being naked in of itself is hardly a crime or harmful to anyone.
Posted 12/18/2009 at 04:51:57 PMAnyone else hear this nasty old dried up cold repressive hag is married to one of the local cops ?
Posted 12/27/2009 at 05:35:46 AMmany you poeple are stupid. just cause someone says something diffrent does not make it true.
May does not mean its a fact. may is the officer know they got no damn case. why you think they ask to put flyers out?
ladies get away with plenty of crap. guys get hammaerd.
Posted 02/16/2010 at 12:52:43 PMJade Monkey -it was likey drop cause the officers would of had to prove that he was intended to show is private part. Just cause officers want to believe it. Does not make it true.
they had no edvince this why they sent flyers around asking if other people seen him naked.
