| He probably should have held off a few more days on that confession |
In 1995, Joyce Goodner was beaten to death with a cinder block, set on fire and left for dead in an abandoned house in Nashville. Witnesses saw a truck drive off, but no one was ever charged in the 14-year-old slaying until Washington confessed.
Unfortunately for Washington, he lived through the heart attack. Ooops! Now he wants his confession back. But police are invoking the old playground rule of no take-backs, and since hearing the admission, they've found a witness in the case.

Serves him right!I guess God decided his "save my soul and sidestep any earthly consequences" (like a new conviction)trickery Was NOT in the true spirit of REPENTEDNESS.So he let him live to properly PAY for his heinous act
Posted 10/11/2009 at 02:10:07 PMGod has nothing to do with this. He is an idiot. He murdered someone, ran away from it, and finally broke down on his "death bed" when he really felt we was going to die. He was not proud of what he did, which is why he sung like a jail bird when he thought he was dying. There are no take backzies on the playground of life.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 12:46:43 PMHow about this? If there was (or is) a god why did he let this man kill multiple people only to save him from his own death after confessing. How about if there really is a god the cinder block he was beating the first woman to death with falls on his head severely crippling, retarding or actually killing him. Friggen morons and their god of mysterious ways crap. How about a god doesn't let this man live at all? How about killing him at birth to prevent the two known murders this man has committed (admittedly in one case)? How about, if there is a god, he died right there and then after his confession to save the rest of us the expense of imprisoning this man for the remainder of his life. How about saving the decent people on this planet from the expense of his idiotic court case where I'm sure his lawyer will fight tooth and nail to have his confession recanted? How about sending him to hell which is supposedly far worse than any prison on earth?

Posted 11/11/2009 at 11:40:16 PM...Double Jeopardy? if he was already in prison for murder, he can't be tried again for the same crime. right?
Posted 11/12/2009 at 12:42:39 AMChris, he's already in prison for another murder. Confessing to this one will be a new charge of murder. He's actually committed two murders and who knows what else. However, according to t.rex, a god apparently saw fit to saving his life so that we may either execute him (an eye for an eye and all) or he may be a tax burden onto us for the remainder of his miserable life.
I mean screw the millions suffering from starvation or cancer praying earnestly for their lives. We need some real good Old Testament style justice.
Posted 11/12/2009 at 01:42:10 AMAnd just to be a troll prick. Had his confession been to a priest, it would be privileged. Inadmissible in court. Protected under his freedom from, oh I mean of, religion. If he truly repents he may be allowed into the pearly gates too. What a great system no wonder so many buy into it. It's like a get out of hell free card.
Section 983(1) of the Code of Canon Law:
The sacramental seal is inviolable. Accordingly, it is absolutely wrong for a confessor in any way to betray the penitent, for any reason whatsoever, whether by word or in any other fashion.
In 1996 in a jail in Oregon, law-enforcement officials were tape recording inmates confession. They attempted to present the tapes as evidence against an inmate, who was charged with murder. The Archdiocese of Portland immediately protested and argued not only that the tapes should not be used in court but also that it be immediately destroyed. The Vatican itself eventually became involved.
