Tiffany was murdered while waiting for a school bus
Tiffany Wright, 15 and pregnant, was waiting for a school bus in Charlotte, North Carolina last month when a car pulled up, she was shot three times, and the gunmen sped away.

More than a month before her slaying, social workers pegged her foster brother, city worker Royce Anthony Mitchell, 35, as a likely suspect in a statutory rape case. The ex-con had been granted temporary custody of Tiffany after her foster mother died. Police believed he was the man who got her pregnant.

But the rape charges have now been dropped after DNA concluded he wasn't the baby's father. Police believed there was enough evidence to still bring Mitchell to trial, yet the prosecutor's office dropped the case without consulting them. Mitchell remains a person of interest in the girl's murder, however. (See original story here.)
