Sister Wants Death Penalty for Brother Cody Henderson in Murder of Their Stepdad

​According to police, someone broke into the apartment of Charles Zan II on October 17. By the time it was all over, say Miamisburg, Ohio police, Zan had been stabbed 40 times. And that someone who did it was is stepson, 19-year-old Cody Henderson.

The person who ratted him out was Cody's sister, 21-year-old Misty Henderson. She says her brother and her stepdad -- a Marine reservist and prison guard -- had a rocky relationship since Zan married their mother seven years ago. But she thought they'd been getting along recently -- until Zan turned up murdered...

​There's no doubt that 40 stab wounds shows a hellacious amount of rage. But Misty says her brother -- who has a two-year-old son and another baby on the way -- was always prone to violence.

"He's choked a couple of ex-girlfriends" she told WDTN-TV. "He's put his hands on me a couple of times. It was never that extreme.  He never left marks on skin or anything. He was always remorseful after, even if he didn't remember what happened."

Though prosecutors have yet to decide if Cody should get the death penalty, that's a no-brainer for sis. She wants him dead.

"I saw my stepdad's body two days ago and I've completely changed my opinion. I think for what he did, he should get the death penalty. Family or not, I think that is the only punishment worthy of the damage that he did. It's for the best. It's what is going to get Chuck justice."

Cody is now in the Montgomery County Jail facing charges of murder, assault, and tampering with evidence.
