Video: Police Brutality at a Special Needs School in Dolton, Illinois

Here's a startling video from a special needs school in Dolton, Illinois. A police officer asks Marshawn Pitts to tuck in his shirt. The kid says no. That's when the cop lights him up and jacks him into a locker. Police originally charged the kid in the case -- until they saw surveillance videos. Ooops! Now the kid is filing suit. Who knows if this is all there is to the case; we only have the 15-year-old's lawyer talking. But either way, the video alone is going to cost Dolton a huge chunk of change.

This sickens me. I'm so happy to that the family acquired an attorney to take this case. That officer had no right to treat that young man the way he did. The problem with these kids with emotional problems is that they can sometimes be rude and beligerent. Handling them with that kind of force and in that manner only exacerbates an existing problem, especially if they have a history of physical abuse already. It makes me really mad to see this, because they lock parents up for doing something like that. What gives them the right to be so violent against someone who doesn't bow down to their authority the way they want them to. He could have just ordered him to turn around and be arrested and if he didn't - take him down properly. The push and then the grabbing was criminal. That's what causes me to dislike police officers. We've seen this way too many times. Then the black guy looks up at the camera as though he saying, "I hope you're getting all this." Sweet.
Posted 10/09/2009 at 01:03:16 PMWhy do some cops (pigs) use their badges to hide behind? They intimidate the innocent just to get their rocks off. They stand back and laugh and in real life they are out there committing more crimes than most civilians. You wonder why we have no respect for the law???
Posted 10/09/2009 at 02:01:53 PMWe don't know what the history of this kid is-maybe he's been violent in the past. Maybe VERY violent. Looks like a set up to me-and shame on the cops for falling for it.
Maybe the young male should be transferred to a juvie center.
