| Andrea Billingsley is charged with forcible sodomy for having sex with two 15-year-old students |
The 31-year-old Billingsley apparently wasn't hip to coital adventure with men her own age. So according to West Jordan police, she found her lovers at the middle school where she was employed. The problem, it seems, is that her two boyfriends were only 15, which is a crime in Utah unless you're a fundamentalist Mormon. (In that case, your pedophilia is a direct order from God, whose words have been divined by some guy with five teenage wives...)
Their rendezvous took place in and out of school between May and July, when she lost her job after the funding ran out. But her problems didn't start until recently, when the kids started bragging to friends about Ms. Billingsley's sexual prowess.
She's now charged with forcible sexual abuse, forcible sodomy and dealing pornography to minors, achievements doubtful to impress a principal when she applies for her next job.

Boy Kotz, you're a real dick.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 02:02:41 PMinteresting how you can take a story about a woman having sex with minors and turn it into a bash on Mormons. What journalistic standards!!! not that I'm some huge activist for Mormons but come on.
I am not condoning this woman's behavior but I have to say when I was 15 I and plenty of guys I knew would have been quite willing participators in this kind of thing, really. again, I'm not saying that she should be doing this but I find it hard to accept that these boys were "raped," especially when they were bragging about their little adventures.
I don't question that this should be illegal but nothing about this sounds "forcible" to me.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 04:27:31 PMI'm not bashing Mormons in general, R. Henry. I'm bashing fundamentalist Mormon polygamists -- a different sect -- that's been involved in the serial rape of young girls for ages. I'm also bashing the state of Utah for turning a blind eye to it. As far as forcible rape goes, that's the legal term for anyone who has sex with an adult under the age of consent. You could look it up.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 05:31:59 PMI'm not arguing legal terminology with you, I'm saying I think there ought to be a better term for it. As for the Mormon bashing, I understand what you're saying but with the way you took advantage of this story as an opportunity to throw it in there, well, I just hope you don't consider yourself an actual journalist here.
I despise most any organized religion but it seems out of place in your "article."
Posted 11/11/2009 at 05:36:33 PMr henry what are you talking about? She had sex with a 15 year old boy! That means she's a pedophile!!!!1 Do you know what a pedophile is? It's a person who rapes small children, like three years old. How perverted can you get, raping three year olds! You and I are not pedophiles. How do I know this? Because I know that we are not school teachers. A school teacher is a despicable thing. I don't work with kids, therefore I know that I could never develop feelings for a teenager, even if my life were empty or full of problems. And it's not. People with problems are LOSERS. Look how she is gloating in her mugshot there, and contrast it with the trauma that made these children go bragging to their peers.
I say we string her up, because you know what else? A pedophile who murders their victim is the same as a pedophile who does not! See? Sex with 15-year-old-boy is on par with murder. Shoot this sick pervert and save our tax dollars, because there but the grace of God go all the other pedophiles. I learned this from True Crime Report.
Please let's just keep up the long string of mugshots of crying women, it's great. God I hope that we never institute guidance services to help women or teachers in general avoid getting into these situations, cause I'M LOVIN IT! And so is True Crime Report!
Posted 11/11/2009 at 05:42:45 PMqwerty, you and I think so much a like it's frightening. Maybe Pete will let you write some stories? I love how you so effortlessly turned her into the murderer of 3 year olds. Fantastic! Pete should like that, too.
We should all watch the movie Notes on a Scandal. Get some new perspective here.
I agree we should string up not only school teachers but also all aspiring teachers and members of the Future Teachers of America club. Anyone who corrects the grammar of others as well, just to be safe.
Posted 11/11/2009 at 11:54:08 PMi don't blame him for mentioning mormons. they do have a long history of pedophilia, multiple marriage partners, and it's all part of a sick culture.
although i will agree that 15 year old boys probably don't think its a bad thing necessarily, but do they really know any better at that age? they have raging hormones that dictate how they feel and react to things at that age. not excusing either the teacher or the boys here, but according to the culture in which they live, this is the norm, is it not?
Posted 11/12/2009 at 08:20:45 AMI don't think they know any better but I have never met a guy who had sex with an adult female when he was 15 (I'm in the midwest so I know a few) who looks back and feels violated. They smile about it if anything.
I don't think they know better at the time but I don't think it's rape, either. I'm also not saying that a 15 year old boy CAN'T be raped, either. But it doesn't sound like rape to me, not this story.
I think she ought to get probation and a ton of community service. Maybe a short prison term of a few months at worst.
Posted 11/12/2009 at 08:45:21 AMLove love love your blog! - Gotta clarify that people you called "fundamentalist Mormons" in this article are not. They do not follow fundamental Mormon doctrine (meaning the doctine followed 100+ yrs ago which, yes, did include polygamy). The practices of these people would best be described as Radical Mormonism or Corrupt Mormonism because they are making up their own rules and do not strictly follow the teachings of the Mormon church either from it's origin in the 1820's or from the present day church. Sincerely, a devout Latter-day Saint in Idaho
