How about this novel idea - we let the judicial system decide their fate?

Really? I always wonder if someone is going to listen to these idiots who post comments. Let's let him live and burn the girl in effigy. Sounds to me as if this Jesus freak needs to learn that the punishment needs to fit the crime and it's crybaby Jesus freaks that save jerks like this from getting the punishment they deserve.

Seriously Jackie, Carol may have gotten herself into this but did she really deserve to die? I think all involved should get the same punishment because they were all involved, but to be lenient on this guy because he has kids? That's laughable at best. This young lady had family too. What do they get out of this? They never get to see her again, that's for sure. Maybe these kids of James would be better off with a different father figure? You know, one that wouldn't callously take the life of another person perhaps? I mean, this is setting a really good example for those kids right? "Hey kids, if someone rips you off on a dope deal, just killem, nobody cares!" Yeah, that is definitely something I would want to teach my kids!Carol may have "gotten herself into this", but she did not deserve to die. These people that have "gotten themselves" into this by killing her should receive the maximum punishment available, so that they know their behaviour was not acceptable. After all, as you said, they could have walked away at any time, but ALL chose to participate.

Jackie is the new dumbest person alive. Your problem isn't with the death penalty, but that you're friends with a murderer and so he shouldn't be executed. Wow. Just...wow.

Let me fix that first sentence:

So let me get this right, Jackie. Dad is a murderous, drug using loser and you are concerned his kid will have a daddy? Are you for real? He must be a great role model; exactly the type of father influence a child needs. You must be of great character, too to have such a friend ax this loser. I used to smoke $500 worth of crack in a few hours, but it never occurred to me to kill someone if the rock was bad.

That's the thing when you are doing drugs and running with a bad crowd, trying to get drugs and getting burned just becomes part and parcel of the lifestyle. Guaranteed it happens to everyone who is involved in that lifestyle no matter how big or bad they are.

As you get deeper and deeper into addiction, you become more and more desperate and in turn deal with more and more desperate people. It just becomes an insidious, self destructive downward spiral that always ends in tragedy.
