Comedian Katt Williams Busted for Burglary; Invokes Trophy Wife Defense

​Comedian Katt Williams was arrested yesterday for breaking into the rural home of record producer Barry Hankerson. Daniel Paul Broach, an employee at the ranch in Coweta County, Georgia, called police to say Williams had busted into the house with a crowbar. Rare coins and $3,500 in jewelry were missing.

But Williams claims it's all a big mistake. He says he'd been living at the home for the last month while filming a movie produced by Hankerson. And according to his lawyer, Hankerson had given him permission to stay at the house.

Attorney William Briggs also busted out the Trophy Wife Defense to proclaim his client's innocence, saying that Williams usually wore more than $3,500 in jewelry on any given day, so why would he need to steal Hankerson's?

Truth be told, we don't know what to make of this case. But if it precludes him from making more movies like "The Boondocks," we're all in favor of Williams' continued incarceration.
