Fugitive Matthew Maynard didn't like the photo a newspaper used, so he sent it a new one
​Consider British burglar Matthew Maynard as vain. Or a smart ass. Or just really, really dumb. Or all the three. When the fugitive saw his wanted photo in the South Wales Evening Post, it seems he didn't like the looks of himself. So he sent the paper a new picture -- featuring himself posing in front of a police van...

He's right about the police mugshot the paper originally used. He clearly looks better from a distance.
​Though he's clearly taunted police, they seem fairly happy with this turn of events. South Wales police are in the midst of a sweep that netted 81 arrests over a two-day period. But they'd really like to nab Maynard.

And now that he's sent in a new picture, which the paper splashed across its front page with the headline "You Cheeky Burglar," detectives feel everyone in town will know his face, and it won't be long before they receive a tip for his arrest.

As one cop said, "What an idiot!"
