• It is easy to be stupid. Please take the time it requires to watch the 1 minute, 26 second trailer on Youtube. It is not porn, does not eroticise anything, and is not about Jaycee. Abducted Girl explores the little publicized industry of human trafficking in the United States. Even if you disagree, the Dugard case provides a poignant example of how something considered so terrible can carry on for decades in the free world.

I am completely open minded, and at one point in my life watched horror movies before I realized how a) pointless they were and b) negative/depressing/nihilistic they generally are while supposedly having some sort of moral message. When someone takes it a step further and makes the focus sexual violence towards women, being open minded has nothing to do with saying "I don't encourage you to make shitty movies that disrespect women. I respect your right to do it, but don't expect me to pretend you are a talented artist because you spent lots of money showing the world how scummy your thoughts can be." That does not make me close-minded. Opinionated, confrontational and selectively old-fashioned, maybe, but not close-minded. A close minded person would not be objective about pornography which is not as offensive towards women.

It doesnt make me a hipercrit by saying a movie is a movie, don't let the bad publicity bother you. It makes me open minded, so try not be so close minded. • Look, you can enjoy porn without supporting the exploitation, abuse, and degradation of women. You can try to disguise it as social criticism all you want, but at the end of the day, you are watching someone be killed and tortured in a sexually pruient way, and if you get aroused or entertained by that, I would definitely encourage you to do some soul-searching as to why you find this "fun," and probably seek some therapy. It is so ridiculous that people are trying to turn this into a defense of this director as someone who makes "art films," for one, and two the idea that sex sells. That is obvious. What is sad is when the type of sex that sells is murderous and violent towards women. Again, I will make the point that if that kind of sex sells that well, this director is embarassing himself here by whining about how he can't make any money off his dumb movies and how he's only doing it to get his big break. Sure, someone is going to make a movie about every horrible thing in the news...and that makes it...right? artistic? tasteful? not sleazy? So if you beat someone else to a horrible idea, are there any bragging rights to that? Gina, if you don't like these types of movies, don't you think defending the subject matter is hypocritical? You can defend someone's RIGHT to make trash, but you don't have to pretend to respect it or encourage their efforts. I just personally believe when somoene has the lapse of good judgement to make this kind of film, they out to have it waived in their face as an example of how they could be a better artist and a better person. I don't see any reason to kiss someone's ass just because he is supposedly ambitious and made a few forgetable films that I would never even consider wasting my time with. Tony, you may think it noble to defend your friend's sick taste, but I personally wouldn't even continue to associate with anyone who made those kind of films, whereas you just chalk it up to having "conflicting aesthetics." It's more a matter of "in questionable taste" vs. "disgusting, wrong, and totally unnecessary." Calling twisted Hollywood horror movies "art" is a stretch to me, but even moreso when they are worse independent horror movies. I don't consider porn "art," although someone could come along and challenge that notion, just hasn't been successfully done. I won't debate with you whether this is porn, per se. However, the same way I don't categorize art someone designs for a yellow pages ad on level with something hanging a museum, I don't think this guy will ever make a movie on par with legitimate independent film. He has already ruined his career trying to take this moral low road artistically, and if he doesn't realize that, he's as big a fool as I would expect someone making that kind of garbage to be.

• Ryan, could you tell us what your film will be about if it isnt about the jaycee dugard saga? Pete, I'm sorry, I love your work, but I mean, we're hearing it straight from the guys mouth that he isnt a porn star, or a porn movie maker. Give him a break guys! This is almost 2010, isnt it obvious SEX SELLS. Most hit movies out these days have to have nudity in it or you have 1/2 the guys in the audience falling asleep or leaving disapointed. As a female, Im annoyed by the fact I have to go see a kiddy movie to escape seeing someones tits at the movie theatre. The fact is, people do get kidnapped, and taken as sex slaves. Someone is going to make a movie about it. There are millions of books about it, and just because its came out around the time Jaycee was found doesnt mean its based on her life. Maybe thats where he got his idea, but thats pretty quick to get the advertisement out and story written being a low budget film director isnt it? Oh and Jaycee was found alive, not murdered, so its obviously not based on her life exactly. Ryan, maybe the tag line is a little too much, but like you said, it catches peoples attention unlike your other not so racey titles. I completely get that. And try not to let the bad publicity get you down. Your movie is out in the press is it not? Bad publicity is free advertisement. I don't watch movies like this at all, but now I know its out, right?

• I want to reiterate what Mr. Ryan has posted. He is NOT a porn star. His film, Amateur Porn Star Killer is NOT porn because no one who makes a porn film uses PORN in the title. I consider Shane a good friend, and though I may have some conflicting artistic issues, I respect him as an artist. His films are best described as an art film, including his most recent one, "Warning: Pedophile Released." The latter film is not exploitative in the least. Tony Young

• Burl, I hate exploitation films and your point of the director starting in porn is irrelevant, because we are talking about a very specific genre of porn here. Porn doesn't have to be about violence towards women. It's sick.

• Hey, don't pick on this guy, and get the facts right. How did the guy who made the Godfather films begin? PORN. This guy is a film maker/actor just trying to do his craft in his chosen genre. We love to get all nostalgic over the "great" exploitation films of the 1950's, 1960's, '70's and what about all those ripped from the headlines cheapo films we saw at the drive in movies? Low budget exploitation films are the burlesque clubs of cinema...here is where you get your chops in a niche genre. Wise up.

• P.S. just checked out your pathetic film career. It's also sad hearing you try to justify the themes of the other ones, i.e. snuff films are an urban legend. You know where all the snuff films are that have been discovered? In evidence at police departments. They aren't an urban legend, because sometimes serial killers make them and they never see the light of day, thank god. I recently watched the first 20 minutes of a documentary about Snuff and it was such a dumb film. It was the most pitiful thing listening to the losers who are so fascinated by it trying to deny they exist as a disclaimer to the obsessing they were about to do over staged snuff films in lieu of the real thing you just knew they probably seek out privately. As if fantasizing about snuff is really that much better anyway. What an artistic statement you're making eroticizing pedophilia and violence towards women and hiding behind it as social criticism.

• Shane, it sounds like your answer to Garrett's question of "...why is the subtitle: 'This young girl will be humiliated, raped, murdered... and you will watch'" is that rape sells. If that's the case, you make it sound like you are failing at your attempts to take the fast track to success by stooping to such lows. At any rate, come on, stop kidding yourself and everyone else. Go make some real art or at least some decent porn where the eroticism doesn't revolve around killing women. Isn't the porn market flooded with enough crap degrading and abusing women, that you have to push the envelope even further and depict them being kidnapped, raped and murdered? Your explanation for the subtle meaning in your films is laughable. Not to mention your whining about how it makes you hated. Duh, as if you didn't expect that negative publicity to work to your advantage. Hope you get the fame you always desired, buddy.

• With the little money I've made it's gone directly back into marketing or making more films so therefore I'm not making any money, my car never works, I can't pay doctor bills, I can't go to the dentist, so I'm sure as hell not making money. And if making money on those subjects is as low as it gets, most of Hollywood and every "respectable" actor would be at fault in one way or another. Films need conflict to make them work and most Hollywood players have at some point in their career delt with a movie which had a kidnapping or rape in their film. The whole point in Amateur Porn Star Killer was actually to question this form of entertainment and present it in a way where it's done so realistic that you actually question your own reason for wanting to watch such a film (but if you weren't the type to even watch it then kudos to you, seriously). Many reviewers actually pointed this out, that they were looking for some cheap thrills, nudity, blood, etc and then felt like they were guilty for even wanting to watch that sort of thing. I can argue this all I want but I do know that there's usually no use pushing the "point" on somebody and art should be left open for interpretation, I just fucking hate that all this inaccurate information about me is being posted and being believed to be true and people are actually buying into it and flooding my email with death theatres all because the media won't get a god damn story straight. That's all.

• I don't care that you used that film but almost everything else about your story is completely inaccurate, mainly your headline I'm not a porn actor, I'm not making an adult film and I'm not making an adult movie on the saga of Jaycee Dugard. I love how it went from filmmaker, to racy filmmaker, to low budget filmmaker, to horror filmmaker, to adult filmmaker, to pornographer by the end of the telephone game the media played on this. I also did not make Vaginal Holocaust, I was merely an actor with no creative control. And the reason I titled my first film Amateur Porn Star Killer was because it got attention unlike films like Isolation. You woulnd't say Seth Rogan was a porn actor because he starred in Zack and Miri Make a Porno. I just think people should get some facts straight, at least half, before continuing to make somebody look bad on purpose. Trust me, it sucks being on the other end when there's nothing you can do about it and reporters won;t even report the actual story.

• Scot, thanks, 1 out of a million people finally see this error. I'm glad you took time unlike a single reporter I've come across in the past week and of the reporters who did contact me, man did they have their own hate agenda on me. When i blindly took interviews they attacked me, when i didn;t take interviews they attacked me, probably worse, when I came at them with the truth (CNN, Fox, and this lady from that show The View) they either ignored me (after they requested the interview) or in the case of one of those 3, the producer admitted they probably wouldn't want to interview me unless they could bash me. Talk about the world of reporting nowadays. I wrote my official statement which not one person published, even my home town but that bs release in the papers,and we even out up an earlier release on the site, nobody even checked our damn official page to read the truth. Can you believe that? I have disgust in the world after this. • Yes, the commentary in these articles is quite funny. However, this concept itself is not only stupid, it's offensive. No one should be eroticizing her ordeal. At the very least, don't pretend the movie you are going to make that men are going to masturbate to is using the story because it is "interesting" as if it appeals to the intellect. No one will be able to appreciate how sad the story is if it has prolonged sex scenes in it, come on. If they do find it sad, interesting AND arousing, then that's sick. Shock value/exploitation at its finest. It's so annoying he couldn't just some bondage porn that only alludes to consent without referencing this case.

• I heard Shane Ryan interviewed and he swears that he has never made an adult movie. He claims that the claim that he is an "adult movie maker" are completely false and that he makes low budget horror movies with deliberately controversial titles. Searching for his movie reviews seem to confirm this. Once again one reporter got it wrong, apparently through laziness, and everyone else keeps repeating the error.
