Michael Monahan Locks Kids in Trunk So He Can Go Shopping

Michael Monahan wanted to go shopping at a sailing store in Fall River, Massachusetts. But like most parents, he knew that shopping and two boys -- ages 3 and 6 -- don't mix. 
Monahan claims his kids loved playing the trunk of the Trans Am with barely room to move
So instead of having his kids run amok in the store, he decided to lock them in the trunk of his car instead. Unfortunately for Monahan, a witness called police.
His lawyer says the boys enjoyed playing the trunk, and that he loves his kids dearly. But since this is a Pontiac Trans Am we're talking about -- leaving them barely room to move, much less play -- we're not sure we're buying his excuse...
He's been charged with reckless endangerment and assault, and ordered to have no contact with the kids.
