99-year-old man beaten over parking spot

| Jeffrey Dahmer could have been caught when a naked, bloody boy ran into the street |
"This IS a perfect example of shitty / lazy cops, who are supposed to "serve and protect", and investigate any and all reports. Brings back the Dahmer case.. remember that one?
"Two women find a drunk / drugged up 14yr old boy running down the road, nude, and bleeding from his backside and call 911. Cops show up, and Dahmer tells the cops that the kid is his 19yr old lover. The cops didn't "want to get involved" in a dispute between supposed homosexual lovers, and turn the kid back over to Dahmer, even though the two women try to tell the cops not to...
"Guess who turned up dead? If the cops had done their jobs, the kid would be alive, and who knows how many others. If these cops would of done their jobs too who knows how many murders would have been prevented."

Don't forget how the cops who did that ended up:
John Balcerzak and Joseph Gabrish, two of the three police officers who returned Sinthasomphone to Dahmer, were fired from the Milwaukee Police Department after their actions were widely publicized, including an audiotape of the officers making homophobic statements to their dispatcher and cracking jokes about having reunited the "lovers". The two officers appealed their termination and were reinstated with back pay. They were named officers of the year by the police union for fighting a "righteous" battle to regain their jobs. Balcerzak was later elected president of the Milwaukee Police Association in May 2005
Posted 11/10/2009 at 09:13:19 AMThat was classic. And Dahmer killed at least 4 more people after that guy (and who knows how many more). So, for literally making five murders happen and being homophobic, these guys were celebrated as heroes.
Posted 11/10/2009 at 11:20:42 AMThere are ZERO parallels between the Dahmer case and this case. None at all. If your reader, "Ed", had done his home work on the Sowell case, then he would know there was nothing the police could do. There was no probable cause - there was no suspicion that Sowell was up to no good.
A lot of the women who were murdered were drug addicts and prostitutes who would disappear for long periods of time -- a lot of families did NOT report them missing.. Who were the cops supposed to be looking for - if the disappearances were never reported?
The one incident that is shady is when the neighbor saw a naked woman fall off his roof.. but the one refused to press charges, so what could the police do?
It's so easy to sit on the sidelines and play Monday morning quarterback and expect the cops to have ESP.. give me a break!
Posted 11/11/2009 at 02:48:42 PMLanie, apparently YOU are the one who hasn't read the facts.
You stated "There was no probable cause - there was no suspicion that Sowell was up to no good." and "Who were the cops supposed to be looking for - if the disappearances were never reported?"
Are you kidding me???
You may want to re-read the story, dear.

These are facts, not assumptions. The police had PLENTY of opportunities to investigate and make an arrest - that's their JOBS. Between the 911 calls, the firemen showing up, etc, you're going to tell me none of this was probable cause to enter the house??? It's not ESP, it's common sense, and police training, both of which you apparently don't have.
You also have the smell of death / rotting body issue. There's no way in hell you can confuse the smell of a rotting body with a sausage factory. The smell had to be emanating from his own clothes too.
Have you ever had the pleasure of smelling a rotting body? How about one pulled from the Hudson River, all nice and bloated with a GSW to the head? Didn't think so.
But, don't forget - I just sit on the sidelines....
