"I heard the same complaints when Garrido failed to be caught for 18 years or so after kidnapping and repeatedly raping his victim. A convicted sex offender on lifetime parole (I had not even heard of lifetime parole before).
"We have the same problem in California, inept lazy and corrupt Law Enforcement. A report just came out on the case that has no other way to describe it other then a stunning show case of incompetence. Still LE tries to find the silver lining. I almost feel sorry for what are probably nice people like Alexa, but I can't quite bring myself to do it, they are in fact part of the problem."

Wes,
Nice people can disagree reasonably. My issue is the wave, after wave, after wave of unrelenting denigration, disrespecting, belittling, condemning, trial by public opinion that far too many people engage in when a *minority* of police fail to do their jobs correctly.
How about we hold the Garridos responsible for what they did? Instead of savagely whipping the police as a group, why don't we focus our rage on the people responsible for the suffering: the criminals.
Please, don't feel sorry for me. You are a part of the problem, not me.
My priorities are based on what I see, what I've experienced, what I've learned.
But lately, this place has decided the police are the problem. Not the criminals, but the cops.
Wow.
