| Shawn P. Krieger reportedly told the volunteer that he hated Christmas -- and Salvation Army bell ringers |
Police in Maumee, Ohio say Krieger approached a bell ringer at The Andersons store around supper time. He grabbed the kettle she used to collect donations and put it in the back of a pickup truck. "I can't stand you and your bell-ringing. I hate Christmas," he reportedly told the volunteer...
The truck, which was stolen, was later found abandoned. The kettle was discovered in south Toledo. And Krieger was nabbed by police.
He's believed to have stolen quite a bit of money; the volunteer says the store was crowded with generous people that day. But his bounty will do him little good when he meets St. Peter, and he's forced to explain why he stole from a charity during the celebration of Jesus' birth.
