This story could have done without the graphic explanation of the images. Please don't describe what was depicted in the photos, we all know how despicable child porn is without reading the author's obscene accounts.

Actually Ronnie, I disagree. I understand that hearing that might turn your stomach, but what have you done lately to help put those type of people in jail? Do you have kids? And if you do, where are they RIGHT NOW? Those sick details are what motivate people to wake the F up and realize what's REALLY going on. Child porn isn't just some dirty little secret,it's thousands of little helpless BABIES being tortured at this VERY SECOND. Watch your kids, know what your neighbors are doing to their kids, look for signs of abuse, and never leave your child entrusted to ANYONE.

Give me the right to use any means necessary to dispose of these sick individuals and I would gladly oblige. But other than that, I have to rely on authorities who are paid by my tax dollar to take care of these people. And yes I do have kids. A 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son, which is why the description of the images really turns my stomach. As for where they are RIGHT NOW; at home with our nanny, and I have the ability to see what's going on at all times in the house with security cameras that are viewable on my laptop...
...Most educated people know what is going on without reading graphic details. I do agree that too many people turn their heads and not do anything about this. Unfortunately, until these sick bastards are dealt with more harshly, ordinary citizens are helpless in eradicating the problem.

We will never get rid of people like this because the screwed up judges let them go with a slap on the hand. But if you rob an allsups or sell drugs your screwed 20 30 years in jail. I hope they arrest all in this sick, little club. Then, they should be given the choice 1)a labotomy, castration and life in prison OR 2)the death penalty. I think this sounds quite reasonable.

Ronnie, it's not about "educated" or not educated, it's about desensitization. Those sick details grab people who have otherwise been desensitized from hearing the term "child porn" continually. The details may turn your stomach, but they also wake you up. Not everyone is as acutely sensitive to the subject because they aren't parents and also can't really imagine just how depraved this garbage is, they just can't imagine some of the things that go on in this material. It makes me sick too, but as a forensic psychology student I know these details make all the difference.

How about go volunteer ronnie instead of asking people for the right to do something? Plenty of organizations who do good work are in need of volunteers. There is pervertedjustice, NCMEC, NCMA and many many more. I know this because I volunteer, I don't sit around asking for the rights to do something.

Judges who seemingly condone perverted crimes such as this should be prosecuted. Until they get a handle on these vile crimes we are all at risk. A recent A.P. news report states that these creeps are now hijaking our computers to get away with child porn. How are we - the unsuspecting public to fight back and protect ourselves if we don't know they are doing this? Is there a way to know if our computers are contributing to this smut?

The things helpless people say. The law handles crime after the fact. I agree wholeheartedly that "these people" should be dealt with to the full extent of the law. No sympathy here for pedophiles. But the sad fact is, law enforcement and the judicial system do not prevent crime. Does it occur to anyone that, if we could "get a handle" on any crime, that there wouldnt be crime. The hope of preventing victimization lies in dealing with people who have already been victimized. Like Priscilla said. "...children grow up with problems and the cycle continues." Remember, the sick pervert that should be castrated or put to death, was once one of the children your hearts bleed for. So let's stop stroking our sense of self righteousness here.

Agree with REALITY CHECK, Ronnie. Luckily, we don't have to look at any of the disgusting images. I truly pity the judges and investigative officers who do. But if it weren't for some constant reminder of details, sometimes it is so easy for people to write it off as "just artistic nudes," or "barely legal," not severely abusive, or some other more sugar-coating of the facts.

I meant foremost the JURIES. People who are not hardened by exposure to police training to deal with it, my heart goes out to them. That's why people often need counseling after these trials.

Buki, you're blowing my comments way out of proportion. It goes without saying that the victims suffer the most. I was merely empathizing with others who have to be traumatized to resolve these trials - especially the families of all the victims, but also the jury. No one is making any recommendations for not sharing the evidence with the juries, genius. No self-righteousness stroking going on here, how's your own self-righteousness working out for you, though?

So is the guy in the above photo part of the "club?" He isn't named in the pic. If it's just an example shot of a country club type looking fellow, dude, you are so sued. I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate you using his photo in a child porn article.

Working out well J. Well enough that I can place empathy where it belongs. With the children who are the victims of these crimes and their families. You're right though, that post was a bit over the top. But jurors have to deal with traumatic and sickening things of all kinds. They're big boys and girls though and to place empathy for them without even mentioning the true victims is nothing less than sanctimonious.
