Meet America's cheapest discount hooker
After the Steelers lost to the Bears at Soldier Field on September 20, Zack Heddinger and some friends headed to Kitty O'Shea's bar to drown their sorrows. Like Steelers fans everywhere, they couldn't help but talk some trash to the assembled Bears fans, which is never a good idea at away games.![]()
Zack Heddinger had a fight with Bears fans when someone offered him a drink to make peace. That's when he nearly died.
Though Heddinger no longer remembers that day, he and his buddies apparently got into an altercation. A Chicago fan bought him a drink to make peace. Heddinger soon passed out and was rushed to the hospital...
Doctors first thought he was just another hammered football fan. But when his heart stopped four times, they realized something was very wrong.
Heddinger
believes his drink may have been spiked with anti-freeze, while doctors think it may have included toxic grain alcohol. He doesn't think Bears fans intended to kill him, but someone clearly hoped to put him through a little discomfort.
The results, however, have been far more severe. Heddinger is now blind and has suffered brain damage. He's undergoing oxygen treatments to regain his sight but still hasn't been able to return to work. Chicago cops are investigating, but it won't be easy finding random football fans who stumbled upon a bar two months ago.

Brain damage and blind! I disagree I do believe their intent was to kill Zack.
He no longer remembers the day which means he can't identify the person who spiked his drink!
Perhaps the tox screen is not back yet...was it antifreeze or toxic grain alcohol?
Posted 11/18/2009 at 03:44:35 PMVery sad for a Steeler's fan. I am a Steeler's fan, live near Pittsburgh, PA
Very sad!
I'm a Bears Fan, I have many questions, How far was he from the bar where the bartender were making the drinks? How is a person able to pour something in the drinks and not get noticed? Could it be an allergic reaction? These places have video cameras. I live close to Chicago.
Posted 11/18/2009 at 05:33:03 PMI'm a Bear fan and Chicagoan born and raised. This is sick, juvenille, and hopefully a felony charge! I only wish I couldv'e been there that day to see the 'Goon' that did this! I know this was two months ago, but that really isn't that long. Somebody somewhere knows something....trust me.
Posted 11/18/2009 at 05:41:11 PMThey don't seemed too concerned that someone attempted murder. I wonder why they don't treat this the same as a drive by shooting. Just as deadly, actually worse IMO.
Posted 11/18/2009 at 10:26:45 PMIt's a shame that many are jealous of the Steelers as a team. They take no prisoners and everyone know it. I'm sorry Zack got caught up in the hateration.
Posted 11/19/2009 at 05:16:19 AMI really hope this poor guy eventually regains his vision. And anyone who takes sports so seriously that he/she would poison a fan of the other team is truly PATHETIC!!!
Posted 11/19/2009 at 10:16:22 AMWe know Zack personally and The person or persons who did this, should be charged with attempted murder! As women we know how easily someone can slip something into a drink without getting noticed.
Posted 11/19/2009 at 08:58:13 PMFor someone to purposely try to injur another person is a disreguard for human life. I know Zack personally, and just because there is a difference in opinions about sports teams, that is no reason to hurt somone. Our prayers are with you and your family Zack
Posted 11/20/2009 at 04:14:32 PMThe anti-freeze or grain alcohol came from underneath the bar because "a fan bought him a drink", not BROUGHT him the drink. And what better place to stash Everclear or whatever. A fan wouldn't carry glass vials of poison into a game, it had to come from the bar. Surgeons say Zack was "hammered." So hammered he doesn't recall that day, drunken antics & big mouth. And so inebriated he couldn't tell the beverage was dangerous. But it doesn't explain his blindness unless his heart stopping 4x gave him mini strokes, then sight could possibly return. But Zack's character is the sort of out-of-shape-guy spending life in the bar; it's all about sports, and they're beligerent, caustic and basically pigs. Your calling card to grow up was delivered because all the other ones were ignored.
