Judging by the photo, there's little doubt veteran Boston fireman Wayne Abron got his ass kicked. The only question is whether he deserved it, or was a victim of police brutality.

In March of last year, Abron was arguing with his girlfriend in the back yard of his mother's home in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Officers Brian Dunford and David Santosuosso received a call at 2:30 a.m. that said a woman was being beaten, so they no doubt arrived with heightened anxiety.

Abron says it was only a verbal beef, and that he never acted violently toward her. But police say he resisted arrest and assaulted the officers. By the time it was all over, he'd gotten his ass kicked and he was headed for jail...

"All I remember was being thrown on the ground and my face hitting the pavement; then I woke up at the hospital,'' Abron told the Boston Globe. "I would just like to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else by any other police officers. They feel they can come in our community and do anything they want. I think they just made a mistake.''

The fireman was acquitted of all charges by a jury in September. Now the 18-year vet of the Boston FD is suing the cops, claiming they covered up brutality.

"It's a very unfortunate situation, '' Abron told the Globe. "When I drive in a car and I see a police car, I get really paranoid and anxious... I am extremely paranoid when it comes to police, even when we are at work. I tend to just stay away from them.''
