Long John Silver manager Prince Dumas will spend the holidays in jail, where the fish isn't nearly as good
From the Stupid Criminals File, we bring you today's adventure of bumbling thievery:

Prince Dumas, manager of the Long John Silver in St. Bernard, Ohio, says two swarthy bandits came to his restaurant, passed him a note demanding money, and said they'd hurt him if he didn't comply. So Dumas handed over a bag containing $2,000. The suspects fled the scene, and Dumas called the cops.

But these weren't the brightest bad guys. Though surveillance cameras were not turned on at the time of the incident, police managed to capture the bumbling pair just a block away as they were leaving the Paragon Apartments...

Jaton Brooks neglected one of the key rules of robbery: Don't hang around a block away waiting for the cops to catch you
They found $300 on the driver, $900 under the passenger's legs, and another $800 hidden behind the apartments. If you're scoring at home, that constitutes the entire $2,000.

Detectives discovered that brothers Jaton Brooks and John Stewart had driven down from Dayton to rob the restaurant. But since there are plenty of fast-food joints in Dayton to rob, this seemed a little weird. Even weirder is that store manager Dumas lived in the Paragon apartments... and the two thieves just happened to be his cousins.

We can only surmise that the $800 left behind the building was intended as Dumas' cut from the job. But we can't understand why his two dimwitted cousins decided to hang around a block from the restaurant after the robbery occurred. Or why the sharp-witted Dumas didn't provide a diversionary description of the bandits to help them get away.

The men were stopped based in his description of the robbers.

Now, for a measly take of less than $700 each, all three are in jail for the holidays, where they won't be able to eat any Long John Silver. Which, by the way, is really tasty.
