Peter Zubke tried to claim he used to coffee pot to dilute some weed killer, then forgot to wash it out
In June, Michelle Zubke walked into the police station in Watertown, Wisconsin to report something suspicious. There'd been a funny taste to her coffee and soda over the past few weeks, and she suspected her husband of tampering with it.

Zubke and husband Peter had been having marital problems. He'd reportedly told her he couldn't live without her. So, according to police, he attempted to make good on that vow.

Michelle began noticing that her soda and coffee had a foggy coloring and a chemical taste and smell to it. Most of the time she just poured it out. But she started getting ideas when she found a jug of weed killer under the kitchen sink. Peter had also repeatedly warned their 15-year-old daughter not to drink mom's soda...

Sure enough, when the toxicology reports came back, the lab found weed killer in the couple's coffee pot.

Peter now claims he used the coffee pot to dilute the chemicals before using them, then forgot to wash it out. But since only a moron would offer that excuse -- or actually believe it -- he's been charged with "placing objects in edibles-domestic abuse," which is apparently a euphemism for poorly conceived murder plots in Wisconsin.
