UPDATE: Did trauma from Iraq or marital problems cause Joshua Hunter to snap? See update after the jump...

Army soldier Joshua Hunter has been captured in Ohio after allegedly stabbing two fellow servicemen to death at an apartment building outside Fort Drum. A tip provided by New York police led to his capture at a motel in Wheelersburg, Ohio.

So far, there's no explanation for the murders. The men were apparently all friends, but something went very wrong in their relationship with Hunter. Fellow soldiers Waide James, 20, and Diego Valbuena, 23, were found dead after being stabbed multiple times. The Army base in Evans Mills, New York is home to the 10th Mountain Division...

Hunter's MySpace page is all about anger and revenge
Hunter, 20, is described as married though without kids. His dad told the Associated Press that he did 15 months in Iraq before returning four months ago. He also depicted  him as outgoing. But a look at Hunter's MySpace page portrays a very different man.

In his "About Me" description, he comes off as an overwrought bad-ass and tragically pathetic tough guy -- if it all hadn't happened to come true:

"i dont need anyone but me, i am cold and heartless, noone can hurt me, noone can touch me, in doing so i will forever be truly alone. i accept. fuck fairytails and illusions of grandeur. unnhappiness can be a way of life. but im not gonna be one of those little bitches who kills themselves i will take down anyone who gets in my way by any means necessary. dont fuck with me and you have nothing to worry about but if you have at one point fucked with me. watch your mutherfuckin ass cause i will not be stopped until i get my revenge. i am angry at the world and i will take it out on anyone so FUCK OFF. noone is what they seem, we all have our masks, mine is gone. come take a look."

This appears to be his wife's MySpace page. The pages of both James and Valbuena appear to have been taken down.

UPDATE: Emily Hunter says her husband changed after her returned from Iraq. But a fellow soldier says it had more to do with marital problems.

Emily Hunter says her husband was outgoing and kind before left for Iraq. But when he came back, he was a different and volatile man.

"He wasn't in any good mental shape at all," she told the Associated Press. "I tried to get him to go to therapy. They prescribed him medicine and stuff, but it just wasn't enough... He'd just burst into tears, bouts of anger or sadness. There'd be one emotion but it would be really deep, just extremely happy or extremely sad. His emotions were always on the rocks."

Emily moved out two weeks before the murders due to Joshua's mood swings and what appears to be domestic abuse. She says her husband would throw thing when he got mad, and that she'd been to the hospital a few times for an injured arm and hand.

The trigger to his change, she says, came from a singular incident in Iraq: "He saw his best friend get blown up to pieces and he tried to put him back together. He was never right after that."

The men he killed were his two best friends.

Waide James was just 20 years old at the time of his murder
The Hunters grew up together in Ona, West Virgina, where they attended the strict Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Mom Judy Hunter also says her son wasn't the same when he came home. He had flashbacks and trouble sleeping, staying up for days on end. Her son told her he blacked out when he killed his fellow soldiers.

"In my heart of hearts, I think he snapped," his mother says.

But in the comments section below, another soldier, who claims to have served with Hunter, says they never saw combat in Iraq. He also believes Hunter may have snapped due to marital difficulties.

The Army has yet to confirm that Hunter saw combat. And we can't verify the unnamed soldier's take below. But here's what he has to say:

I served with SPC Hunter in Iraq. I was reassigned to 3rd Brigade with SPC hunter when we were redeployed to Ft. Drum. I'm sorry, but we saw no combat, dead bodies or anything of the sort during our tour.

As a matter of fact, the most traumatic experience he has dealt with is finding out his wife cheated on him. This behavior continued even after he returned. His jealousy drove him to begin accusing his best friends and roommates of seducing his wife. You know the ending.

The truth will come out. Do not feel sorry for this scumbag.
