Husband pimps out his pregnant wife
Joshua Hunter stabbed his friends and fellow soldiers multiple times
Army soldier Joshua Hunter has been captured in Ohio after allegedly stabbing two fellow servicemen to death at an apartment building outside Fort Drum. A tip provided by New York police led to his capture at a motel in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
So far, there's no explanation for the murders. The men were apparently all friends, but something went very wrong in their relationship with Hunter. Fellow soldiers Waide James, 20, and Diego Valbuena, 23, were found dead after being stabbed multiple times. The Army base in Evans Mills, New York is home to the 10th Mountain Division...
Hunter's MySpace page is all about anger and revenge
In his "About Me" description, he comes off as an overwrought bad-ass and tragically pathetic tough guy -- if it all hadn't happened to come true:
"i dont need anyone but me, i am cold and heartless, noone can hurt me, noone can touch me, in doing so i will forever be truly alone. i accept. fuck fairytails and illusions of grandeur. unnhappiness can be a way of life. but im not gonna be one of those little bitches who kills themselves i will take down anyone who gets in my way by any means necessary. dont fuck with me and you have nothing to worry about but if you have at one point fucked with me. watch your mutherfuckin ass cause i will not be stopped until i get my revenge. i am angry at the world and i will take it out on anyone so FUCK OFF. noone is what they seem, we all have our masks, mine is gone. come take a look."
This appears to be his wife's MySpace page. The pages of both James and Valbuena appear to have been taken down.
Diego Valbuena was Hunter's roommate and one of his best friends
UPDATE: Emily Hunter says her husband changed after her returned from Iraq. But a fellow soldier says it had more to do with marital problems.
Emily Hunter says her husband was outgoing and kind before left for Iraq. But when he came back, he was a different and volatile man.
"He wasn't in any good mental shape at all," she told the Associated Press. "I tried to get him to go to therapy. They prescribed him medicine and stuff, but it just wasn't enough... He'd just burst into tears, bouts of anger or sadness. There'd be one emotion but it would be really deep, just extremely happy or extremely sad. His emotions were always on the rocks."
Emily moved out two weeks before the murders due to Joshua's mood swings and what appears to be domestic abuse. She says her husband would throw thing when he got mad, and that she'd been to the hospital a few times for an injured arm and hand.
The men he killed were his two best friends.
Waide James was just 20 years old at the time of his murder
"In my heart of hearts, I think he snapped," his mother says.
But in the comments section below, another soldier, who claims to have served with Hunter, says they never saw combat in Iraq. He also believes Hunter may have snapped due to marital difficulties.
The Army has yet to confirm that Hunter saw combat. And we can't verify the unnamed soldier's take below. But here's what he has to say:
I served with SPC Hunter in Iraq. I was reassigned to 3rd Brigade with SPC hunter when we were redeployed to Ft. Drum. I'm sorry, but we saw no combat, dead bodies or anything of the sort during our tour.
As a matter of fact, the most traumatic experience he has dealt with is finding out his wife cheated on him. This behavior continued even after he returned. His jealousy drove him to begin accusing his best friends and roommates of seducing his wife. You know the ending.
The truth will come out. Do not feel sorry for this scumbag.

Thank you president warmonger Bush. ANother young man harmed by your Iraq War!!!
This young man needs help. He must not be thrown aside like a piece of trash, but mentored and helped before others ruin his life.
Posted 12/03/2009 at 12:27:35 PMTo Johnson:
I don't think you should be so quick to blame Bush and the war on this guy's decision to murder two of his friends. Even if he suffered from PTSD, he was what? 20 years old? So that means that he joined the military (probably at will) when he knew the war had been in full effect for years. There are plenty of good citizens that have served in the military, fought in wars, and witnessed traumatic sights that did not go out and kill their friends. There are plenty of good citizens that suffer from PTSD that have not killed their friends. He may very well need help, but that doesn't justify murder, nor does it state that the fault is on Bush and the war.
Posted 12/03/2009 at 01:19:03 PMTWISTED!!!! THIS GUY NEEDS MAJOR HELP. I AGREE WITH JOHNSON QUOTED:
"This young man needs help. He must not be thrown aside like a piece of trash, but mentored and helped before others ruin his life"
MAYBE THIS YOUNG MAN IS DEPRESSED. I THINK BEING IN IRAQ TURNED HIM OUT. HE SHOULD EVALUATE BE4 THEY TRY TO DO ANYTHING ELSE.
Posted 12/03/2009 at 01:42:27 PMYou know, instead of commenting on the story, Johnson, you have to go and blame Bush. I am so sick of people blaming Bush! He did what Clinton failed to do, he stood up and fought back. While these terrorist were gettin stronger, Clinton was gettin blow jobs.
My first presidential vote was for Bush's second term and I never regretted it, unlike many who seem to be regretting voting for Obama, including my little brother. Yea true, Bush might not have been the greatest at making speeches, but I judge my president more on what he does, than what he says. Look at what Obama's whole campaign was about: Change. Yea, I'm loving his change. He wants the goverment to have control over insurance at the cost of billions of dollars that we don't have! I am one of the millions without health insurance, but I do not agree with this new policy. I hope for all our sakes it doesn't pass, especially considering how many people DON'T want it. Now to me that's clear that Obama doesn't care what WE want, just what HE wants.
I find it funny that when Pearl Harbor happened the majority of people in this country stood up and fought back. But yet when 9/11 happened, people didn't want to go to war. Was it not the same? Both were acts of terrorism, so why should one have been more heart breaking than the other?
I agree with concerned, he was 20, so its safe to say that he knew all about the war, unless he lived under a rock, and that if he ENLISTED (cause last I knew there wasn't a draft) there would be a good chance he would be sent overseas.
Quit blaming Bush for some people's actions. He didn't force him to kill his friends.
Posted 12/03/2009 at 01:46:34 PMI WANT TO GIVE MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILIES INVOLVED IN THIS TRAGIC EVENT. I PERSONALLY KNOW PART OF JOSHUA'S FAMILY AND I WILL BE PRAYING FOR THEM.
Posted 12/03/2009 at 03:43:27 PMThis kid is another punk that slips through the system and into the military, he is not a product of Bush or the GWOT, nor is he a reprsentative of the professionals in the U.S. Army. He is a product of the American Society and the low moral and low values based mindset of most people in the states today.
Sorry to say put there are punks all over the Army just like this that don't get caught til they do something like this, or drug deals, or Ft Hood incidents, or sell ammo.
But yet most of the american public let the few represent us all even the quiet professionals that allow them to live the lives they lead.
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
Posted 12/03/2009 at 07:23:12 PMWhat is funny about those who are so quick to bash Bush for the wars is this: (and I hate that we are in Iraq and Afghanistan and do NOT want to see us now enter Iran or any other damn country)
Obama PROMISED to get ALL troops out of Iraq by March 2009. That promise was made before the election.
Today he is planning on ADDITIONAL troops for both campaigns...
Focus on the here and now, folks... not a failed President from days gone by.

Posted 12/04/2009 at 01:59:08 AM!!!!WTF and Soldier, first, thank you for literally everything. May you be graced with every blessing, strength, power, victory and increasing peace.
No one is harder on their own than our military when a soldier betrays the principles of not only the warrior ethic but that of our citizenship.
If this soldier is proven guilty, then I want the regressive permissives to twist themselves inside out demanding every possible leniency and concession for him as they do for convicted cop killers and terrorists in Gitmo.
And I want to hear Alan Prendergast complain about his prison mistreatment and too lengthy sentence like he did about Tommy Silverstein.
Posted 12/04/2009 at 09:51:22 PM2 Purple Hearts 5 combat deployments for 49 months in afghan and iraq, and this P.O.S. lies about even seeing combat, got a hate dirtbags like this MF'er.
Two MOS's in the Army...Infantry and support...only one has to lie....
"Maj. Fred Harrell, a spokesman for Fort Drum, initially said the Army is looking into Emily Hunter's comments and any other relatives' statements about Hunter's involvement in combat, but said later Friday only that the post is cooperating with the civilian criminal investigation. He declined to say if the Army was investigating."
"Harrell said there were no casualties in Joshua Hunter's unit during the yearlong tour in Iraq."
Posted 12/05/2009 at 05:07:18 PMOkay nothing excuses murder of two innocent people!!! Somebody I know toured Iraq with this idiot. Not only that, they have photos with this fool, who claims that he was having such a hard time. When in these photos Joshua is drinking, partying, and acting silly. He looks nothing like he is having a hard time.
He is only pleading insanity, to NOT take resonpsibilty for his actions. We should show no mercy towards this killer. He needs to put away & maybe he should be put in the Iraq prison, than maybe he will really know what it is like to go insane & be insane.
Posted 12/08/2009 at 03:29:32 AMWhat a wimp! He's a spineless puke who isn't worth the sweat off my balls.
Posted 12/08/2009 at 01:46:07 PMHe's an insecure little jerk who couldn't deal with getting dumped, what a loser wimp!
I went to basic with Hunter. In basic, all he did was mess with people for his own amusement. There was one soldier who he really enjoyed picking on. The soldier in question always wanted to be left alone after training to get his thoughts together and keep his mind calm, and Hunter would always torment him. I stood on the sidelines, refusing to get involved. I should have acknowledged back then that Hunter was not fit to be a soldier. I regret not having that other soldier's back when Hunter kept harassing him...when that soldier reported him, who's to say Hunter wouldn't have killed him in his sleep one night in retaliation? Seeing these murders now, I acknowledge that all of us who trained with him, especially that soldier, are fortunate to have not been victims ourselves.
Most of former D787 are in shock and disbelief, but I myself feel nothing short of pure disgust with this monster. If he gets off on the insanity plea, I will lose faith in the system.
Way I see it, he murdered two US Soldiers during a time of war, and as such, he gave aid to our enemy by reducing our manpower, and therefore, he may as well be guilty of treason. United States Code: Title 18, 2381 states that those guilty of treason "shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. "
Article 118 of the UCMJ - Murder. Penalties in this case: (1) Article 118(1) or (4) -- death. Mandatory minimum -- imprisonment for life with eligibility for parole.
I have no sympathy for Joshua Hunter. I pray Justice will be served.
Posted 12/10/2009 at 02:39:51 AMI agree with DeltaDawgz, WTF, and Soldier. I Facebook-messaged Mr. Hunter recently and I can say he truly appreciates the support he is getting. May God be with him and his family. Thank you also to our soldiers who have served in our Armed Forces. God Bless you all.

Posted 12/10/2009 at 03:24:36 AMHunter needs no sypathy. Iraq didnt cause this. He is a murderer. im assigned to his old unit that he deployed for 12 months with. not 15. and no one in our battalion saw combat. he is a lying sack of crap and needs to die in prison for what he did

Sorry you and Soldier both had to serve with him overseas...DeltaDawgz and I only had the misfortune of 6 months in Basic/AIT with him. I always knew this shitbag would do something to end up in the news...I just never thought he was a killer.
I call for the death penalty, personally.
Posted 12/16/2009 at 01:11:04 AMThe guy would have killed if he was or was not a soldier. The story line is not about bush or our president. It is about a nut that killed two good friends. If you want to talk about War, bush and Our President. Btittan attacked Iraq march 20 2003, us came in under bush's orders that he signed. As we all know this is the only way our Great Country will attack and fight to protect. US forces quickly set up prisons in Iraq, where they first held prisoners of war, shortly after March 20, 2009.How could anyone say with half a brain that President Obama has not done what he was going to do in regards to the war. You Soldiors know US can not just walk away. Bush should have never gotten US involved in Iraq. NO weapons President Obama has only been in office for 11 months, lets give him 8 years. It may take that long to clean up this mess.

ALL THE OTHER SOLDIERS WENT TO 3RD BRIGADE, AND I WAS NOT THERE WITH THEM, BUT I AM SURE THEY DID ALL THEY COULD TO HELP THIS PIECE OF SHIT. HUNTER YOU GOT WHATS COMING TO YOU, AND I HOPE TO GOD ITS THE WORST THAT ANYONE COULD EVER THINK OF. FOR ONCE I HOPE GOD HAS NO MERCY ON YOUR SOUL BECAUSE YOU MURDERED TWO SOLDIERS WHO WHERE BETTER THAN YOU, AND YOUR WIFE TRIED TO SLEEP WITH, BUT THEY DIDNT WANT TO. Posted 12/27/2009 at 04:30:38 PMI don't blame Bush, Clinton or any political figure. I lost my son to this punk. He as well as Diego served our country with pride and nothing will bring them back. I pray that justice will be served. Nothing will bring them back. I thank all those who served with them and especially his escort SFC James Morton. A man that made a very difficult time a bit more tolerable. You SFC Morton are a true soldier and a wonderful human being.
Posted 12/31/2009 at 10:57:29 PMDear MRS, James,
Posted 12/31/2009 at 11:38:23 PMI'm so sorry for your loss. God Bless "Waide and Diego; may God always look over them."
Johnson, please think about what you just said. This had nothing to do with the War. This had everything to do with this kid having issues from his childhood and becoming a habitual liar. And this kid saw zero action or anyone blown up in Iraq. He lied to his parents, wife and friend to get attention. And how do I know this? I've spoken first hand to soldiers that served with him Waide and Diego and all of them said this kid is a liar and saw absolutely no action. And how close did his wife and parents actually know him? Apparently they weren't that close or they might have known this information. Bottom line, this kid is a useless piece of trash who needs to spend the rest of his cowardly and pathetic life in prison. And no, I do not feel empathetic to himself or any member of his family. Their family member is still breathing, mine is not!!!
Sincerely, Waide James' Uncle
Posted 01/08/2010 at 09:16:28 AMtired of Bush bashers, you're an idiot. "I am one of the millions without health insurance, but I do not agree with this new policy." That proves one thing -- that you've been so brainwashed by FOX News that you can't even accept that Obama's health care plan is meant for people exactly like you. You don't want the ability to buy healthcare? Are you freaking nuts? Either that, or you just have no ability to look ahead. You'd rather wait until you get sick or injured and spend the rest of your life in debt? My God, what idiocy.
OH, and to your other moronic point "is there any different?" between Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Um...yes...there was a major difference, which, if you had the ability to think for yourself, you would see. Pearl Harbor was an act of war -- one NATION attacking another NATION. The 9/11 hijackers didn't come from any nation. Most of them came from Saudi Arabia -- a nation that Bush didn't even consider going to war with because of his deep oil connections with the Royal Family. The hijackers were a group of men from different countries trained by an international group to attack us. Not a single one came from Iraq or were trained in Iraq. Most people don't have a problem with the fact that Bush took us to war -- it's that he took us to war with the wrong damned country that should be a problem to any semi-cognizant human being. Dude, don't try to comment on politics anymore. Your inner retard is showing.
Posted 01/11/2010 at 04:11:13 AMGaggy, you blogged some pretty nasty shit about me on another story. Why, I don't have a clue. You are not a nice person when your making a statement. But you are the first person on this website that shares my political views. Young men and women fighting a war and dying because Bush wanted control of oil that did not belong to us. He starts a war in a country that had no WEAPONS. The Big corp. had Bush in their pocket. He gets the oil, Chevron and the corps.get bigger and they keep funding the republican party.
