Maybe he did exactly what the suit says he did. But the only person claiming it is the person bringing the suit. People can claim anything in a lawsuit.
The word arrested implies that the police have gathered enough evidence against someone to get a warrant. A big different than someone making a claim, getting a lawyer, and filing a civil suit. It takes no evidence whatsoever to FILE a suit, you present your evidence to try to win the suit.
Posted 01/29/2010 at 08:28:30 PMFact Checker, where did you get your facts? The last time I checked, rape was a state charge (i.e. criminal), not a civil one. I'm not even sure they can press state charges through a criminal suit. Once the charge is made, the person can of course be arrested. From there, they may or not be able to post bail depending on if the judge allows bail and if the person being charged can afford it. Therefore, just because a person is arrested for rape, does not mean they sit in jail until the trial.
