Mafioso Frank Campione Blasts His Son From Prison for Talking to the FBI
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 4:16 pm
So Frankie Camp decided to write a nine-page letter to his son from prison, blasting the kid for being a rat. Alas, Frankie's not the brightest to ever fly the flag of New York's Colombo Family. He neglected to remember that prison officials routinely read the mail of inmates -- especially when they're mafiosi.
This is especially important since Frankie claimed he was no longer involved in the mob -- a defense made vogue by Junior Gotti -- and that he was seeking a light sentence on the racketeering charge due to his ill health.
"You are my son and you came from my balls and you should have known better," Frankie poetically wrote from prison. "You have totally crushed me beyond repair."
Among the better literary excerpts:
"You broke the laws of honor, loyalty and family tradition and you tarnished and embarrassed our family name."
"A rat is the worse [sic] thing anybody can be as far as I'm concerned. I guess you learned that trait from your mother, but she is a woman and doesn't understand the laws of the land and family traditions."
But before he was sentenced to three years in court this week, Frankie had a turn about. He said he no longer believed Michael, who's not involved with the Mafia, spoke to the FBI. Yet he believes embarrassment over the mistake kept his son from appearing at his sentencing.
"He's not a rat -- that's why he's not here today. He's embarrassed. What's this country becoming?"
Or maybe Michael just believes his dad's a jerk-off.
