I agree Cheryl, if she can get probation for accidentally killing someone by suffocation, shouldn't every person that unintentionally kills someone get off the hook? Of course not, she shouldn't have gotten away with it so easily. I assume that the judge felt sorry for her, but come on. This is ridiculous.

Even though she's 300 pounds, she's still a woman. I'm thinking she feared for her safety if she let him up. He wouldn't stop wiggling try to get out, and i'm sure he was saying what he was going to do to her when he gets up. So she decided to stay on him till he calmed down. But too late. Only 3 years probation. Wow, the judge is thinking of the children, I think thats good.

This is the end story for the woman who goes apeshit at McDonalds. Getting arrested was probably the best thing that ever happened to her, now she won't end up like this, probably being banned from McDonalds. I for one also feel sorry for her. Those of you stating "it was probably in self defense" or "she was afraid of what he would do if he got up" you all need to have your heads examined!!! SHE IS 300 LBS, HE WAS 120 LBS!!! Okay, so I understand that the judge felt sorry for her and her weight...that is understandable! But why in the world would you give her probation when she meant to hurt him. The thing of it is, no one tries to kill someone by sitting on them. If she wanted him dead she could have done it a million ways that didn't cause her the humiliation this one did.

Yes she killed him, she shouldn't have, and its a tragedy. But I'm sure she is traumatized right now knowing she killed the father of her children by sitting on him. Her poor children are probably afraid of Mommy now. This is a tragedy for all involved, but Im sure his family, who most likely knows and loves her, know it wasn't intentional.

Realistically, how many people wouldn't kill or seriously injure a crapload of people for: Driving too slow/fast, Having the audacity to breath their air, Failure to kiss yo' fly ass, Failure too take shit from you and like it, et. al, if they could get away with it?

I think America should consider appointing special judges in cases that are unusual like this one. If I was the judge this is what I'd do:

1) Sentence her to lifetime community service for reproducing with such a crackhead loser. She should be picking up litter on side of the highway for next 30 yrs. She might lose a bit of weight in the process.

2) Sentence him to a match against Mia every week. A lifetime of humiliation (losing to a fat chick) should be a good punishment for him being such a loser with nothing to offer anyone, yet society allows him to have 3 kids.

Why are you so worried about men's rights because of one outrageous example. You could have bolstered your argument with some more good examples but instead you just went into a rage. How long have women been oppressed by men and how many injustices have women dealt with over the course of human history?

Punishment should never be used to make someone feel better, unless they're a bunch of sadistic sickos, as evidently most of you are. Punishment should be a constructive tool with a logical, reformative purpose--not a toy thrown about at whimsy to calm every feeling of anger or grief. Yeah, I got probation and almost as much community service for DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE when I was 15. Not even a moving violation, not even breaking any traffic laws... just the lack of a license.
