Reader Bob responds to Phoebe Prince, 15, Commits Suicide After Onslaught of Cyber-Bullying from Fellow Students. He says the girls who tormented Phoebe fit the dictionary definition of terrorists, and should be punished accordingly...

"Far too many years ago when I was in school the bully stood nose to nose with you, usually alone, but sometimes with a friend. Today they are in packs of cowards, hiding behind screens and never having the guts to stand alone face to face with the target of their rage.

"I believe these girls should be punished, and then punished some more. I do have my doubts on if it would have any real impact because if they continued after her death, they have no remorse and if I am not mistaken, is this not a sign of a psychopath?

"The parents should also be punished. As a parent, it is your duty and obligation to raise the best human being that you possibly can. If you are not aware of your child's behaviour and monitoring what they are doing with the technology you have provided you have failed both as a parent and a human being.

"Maybe Phoebe did have some issues that stopped her from seeing that there is other alternatives to suicide but that is not the point. These girls sensed the weakness in her, and surrounded her with their hate just like a pack of jackals around a wounded animal.

"I doubt very much that these jackals will receive anything more than a suspension but at the very least they should be sterilized so that they cannot breed and and raise more animals like themselves.

"When you bully, your victim lives in fear and sometimes, like what I expect Phoebe did, in terror. I did a quick internet dictionary check for the word terrorist and got this. 1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism. 2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others. So really, what is a bully and why are they not treated in a manner that truly reflects what they are?"
