With friends like Steven Clay Romero, you surely don’t need enemies. According to police in Delta, Colorado, Romero grabbed a German shepherd from the home of an acquaintance in the wee hours of the morning. He then wrapped a rope around the dog’s neck and tied it to his truck…
The sick bastard decided to take a drive, so he dragged the dog two miles down the road to the Colorado National Monument. The National Park Service found tracks of the dog at first walking, then running, then being dragged along the steep and winding road.
The dead animal was discovered dumped in a ditch, strangled to death.
Romero had apparently told his sister he was going to kill the dog for reasons unknown. He was charged with felony cruelty to animals.
