A week later, Nareau showed up unexpectedly at the relative's job and handed over the child. Since he didn't have a gun with him, the daughter was apparently sold on credit.
But the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office received a tip that she had sold the child. Deputies found the girl was safe in a relative's hands.
Mom didn't say why she so desperately needed a gun, but she can't buy one legally since she's a convicted felon. She did confess that she sold her daughter because she thought her relative would make a better parent.
The girl is now with her father's family, and Nareau has been charged with unlawful sale of a child and solicitation to commit possession of weapon.
