I wasn't able to see the video on my laptop for some reason, so from what I read I don't understand why a 5 year old had a gold chain to begin with? I mean it's horrible someone stole it from him, but again, why did a 5 year old have a real gold chain?

Not just the Latino community. I received a gold cross when I was a child as a gift from a family member. My daughter has tons of jewelry, most is fake, but her earrings are real because she is very sensitive to most metals after prolonged periods of wear. A child can have whatever the parents feel the child can be responsible for. It doesn't matter how old. What matters is a creep took something that wasn't theirs to have.
