If she treats an expensive animal like this (they can go upwards of $2000 depending on linage), hope she doesn't have kids or be around any family members kids. • Rocki - then I, too, apologize. Yes, these guys were creeps. In every other aspect, they were sweet, smart, etc. But the one flaw was the way they treated animals. He actually later told me that he missed his dogs (said he gave them away) and wanted my survivor. I never responded to that.

• Blaire, I am sorry, I thought you were replying to what I said. I guess not. As far as your story, all I have to say is WTF? That is one sick guy. I can understand picking up the water while you're out at work so they don't pee but picking up poop is just no big deal. Did this guy ever hear of walking his dogs?

• I dated this guy once. When he brought me to his house for the first time, we were eating pizza. His roommate's dog jumped on my plate so I just gave him the ones he touched. Seconds later, the guy kicked the dog across the room and said "I'm sorry he did that to you, are you ok? Did he get your food?" I threw the rest of my food at him and asked him why the hell did he hurt the dog? He said its because they pee and sht all over the hardwood floors. Then what he said next sickened me to no end: We don't feed them anymore because they won't learn their lesson. If we don't feed them, they can't sht. I never talked to him again and I called animal control. Animal control did nothing but interview him and his roommate. I went back to check on the dogs (there were 2) while they were on vacation. What I saw was even more horrendous: the female dog had puppies, and 2 were half eaten by the male dog and the rest were infested with worms/fleas and sick. I 'kidnapped' the puppies and brought them to my house but two died in my lap on the way. I called animal control, who went and picked the puppies up. One of the last surviving puppies actually drank some orange juice I poured into a bowl and the other was attacked so I put cotton balls on her head wound and duct taped it there until the hole in her head healed. I was broke and had no options but to call the authorities. All of the puppies probably died except the last two, I kept them. The one who had the head wound, Dora, was blind and when I went on vacation, someone broke the lock on my gate and I never found her. The one who drank the OJ, Desiree, is my darling girl. I got her fixed as soon as she was old enough. There are people out there who shouldn't have animals and there are people who are supposed to protect these animals, and they didn't do that when it was vital. The police are the ones who told me they couldn't handle it, to call animal control. Anyhow, Desiree is the sweetest, smartest, strongest dog and it doesn't phase me when she pees or poops, or chews, or barks, because she is a dog, and she is alive because she drank some vitamin C. She is a survivor and I intend on keeping her happy, alive and well until her time!

• Gina, Yeah, you are right, I thought this bldg was in NY. And I bet the apt. bldg owner never pays for new carpet (that's probably why they allow animals in the first place and tape dogs peeing in the elevator. Apt. owners are scammers.) Even though, I'm definitely not EXCUSING their behavior. They shouldn't have animals b/c number one, they are criminals to do that to an animal and number two, they don't know the first thing about dogs apparently. A dog is not going to respond to that kind of treatment. How is it supposed to know it's getting corrected when it's friggin' unconscious? These dogs are small and they could have just carried them while they were in the elevator and they wouldn't have the chance to pee there. (If they are peeing when they get in the elevator, I bet other dogs are peeing in their, too b/c dogs tend to continue to pee in the same place over and over.) These people are violent and that is probably just the tip of the iceberg on what they're doing.

Im sure they charge out the ass to replace carpet in a NY building. Everything in NY is expensive. But honestly, if your not prepared to clean up after your pet, you shouldn't have a pet. Bottem line. I use to think rubbing their nose in it was harsh, but damn, she could have done that to try to teach the dog its lesson and not have hurt it. But that is a really good observation. I wonder if their building is having some crazy strict rules about animals and their carpets. It would make sense why in the same building two people are going crazy on poor little animals over stupid crap.

• Gina, Actually I think there's a lot more to it. 2 dogs in the same building in 1 week? I don't think these people are getting "nasty notes" I think they are probably getting $500 to $1000 bills for damage everytime this apartment management company wants to replace some carpet. Yes, the normal reaction would be to say 'oh shit' and walk away and pretend not to know anything about it. I think these people are acting this way because they know they ARE on tape and can't get out of it and will get some blown out charge. I don't recall seeing a lot of survillience cameras on elevators, in hallways yes, but not elevators.

• My dog pooped in the house this morning, who's fault was it, it was my fault for not letting him out first thing in the a.m. or it was my husband's fault for not letting him out late last night. It certainly wasn't the dog's fault.

• Wouldn't it be nice if there was an Animal Abuser Registry like a sex-offender registry? If you were arrested for abusing an animal, or your pet is responsible for attacking you would have to register and it would be illegal for you to own another pet.

• Ok, besides having an anger problem, I think its safe to say this chick is a complete moron as well. If we knew about the guy beating his dog in the elevator, she had to have known. So what does that tell you, she should have known "Oh, theres cameras in this elevator." Also, "People get charged with animal cruelty for these type of things." One thing I don't understand is why she got so upset he peed in the elevator? Its not like she had to clean it up if it were really that big of a deal. She could easily have just walked away from it and instead of being arrested by the cops she would have gotten a mean note from the landlord.

God! what would possess someone to do this to an animal they probably paid for, buys things for every week..just to throw it around like a rag doll. My little chihuahua puppy is my world! I would sell my car in order to save her little life. It should be a law that people have to undergo a mental and physical evalution before being able to care and own an animal or a child.
